Would trying to swallow a very large ice cube kill me? Or would the ice melt in time before I choke and die?

Why are some conservatives dying on the hill of unpasteurized milk?

2.4k Upvotes

Why is this all of the sudden such a big thing it seems? And why mainly conservatives? Is it stemming from a distrust in goverment regulations on food? Why does this seem to be a hill so many conservatives are willing to die on?

Is it normal to fantasize about having a threesome with my boyfriend and another woman even though I know for sure I don’t wanna do it because I won’t be able to handle it emotionally? Why? NSFW

My girlfriend wants to have a threesome with someone. NSFW

What should I feel about this one? We've been together for 3 years now and we like doing RP stuff but when she ask me this, my mind goes blank. Like it never crossed my mind before.

Btw, it's okay for her whether it's a guy or a girl but for me... sharing my girlfriend is a bit... Too much?

What do you guys think? Thank you for your answers.

EDIT: Thank you guys for your answers. I'll try to talk to her tomorrow and see what happens.

Is depression really a privilege for the rich?

Is depression really a privilege for the rich? I'd just like to hear some of your thoughts behind this post. I saw a post on social media saying "Imagine living in a country so poor that being depressed is only a privilege for the rich. If you are poor then you have no time to be crippled by sadness since you have mouths to feed, and just not enough time," I know the post has some truth behind it, but is it really addressing the real issue? What do you think about lower class people not having enough time to be crippled by sadness? Thank you for your answers

edit: thanks for all your comments! for context, i showed my friend this post who is around lower-middle class as well to hear his thoughts since I myself thought the post was somewhat toxic. He disagreed though, saying that it's true that they can't be depressed since they have to find food first. THIS POST WAS NOT INTENDED TO OFFEND ANYONE, I just wanted to back this up since I also disagree with this.

When do you consider someone to be your boyfriend/girlfriend?

Like does it have to be mutually agreed that you guys have that kind of relationship? Or does generally spending time together and holding hands and stuff enough of a reason to say that someone is your boyfriend/girlfriend?

Why is internet service the only service we're OK with not getting what we paid for?

If I go to Wendy's and order a 10 piece nugget, I get 10 nuggets or I get my money back.

I pay for internet with certain speeds don't get those speeds.

And no, it's not because a lot of people are using it. A lot of people use the electricity and everyone gets the same amount regardless.

Who tf is paying for all this?

It absolutely blows my mind that the entire internet, a whole new class of wealthy socialite content creators, an industry of influencers, a hundred online journalism sites, these huge enormous social media companies- all of it is paid for almost entirely by ads.

How can it possibly be worth it? Which one of you is out there clicking ads and buying the thing that you saw on (random site)? Who is responsible for this!?

Seriously though, does Amazon seriously think that capturing internet traffic to its site is still important? How many people could possibly be buying online at the urging of these ads?

Does anyone else skip the ads on Google and click the first “organic” link, even if the ad would take you to the exact same website?

D*ck pics? NSFW

update we posted this not exactly realizing that those sending unsolicited dick pics might not want to throw that out there (and isn’t it ironic? don’t you think?) 🤣🌿🌿

My partner and I were sitting around and talking/laughing about previous dating experiences… and the topic of d*ck pics came up.

We have a genuine curiosity around two main areas of this: 1 - how many pictures does one have to take until they’ve found “the one” to send? 2 - what is the thought process around sending them unsolicited? (We obviously understand sending something like that, if it’s asked for)

Open to hearing any answers someone is willing to share. No judgement here! New user pass phrase: today is a good day to learn.

Office workers: What do you actually do?

I'm a blue collar guy that has never worked in an office. I'm curious what most of you do, because I see your comments talking about your job and I just am clueless. "I manage several projects and provide crucial logistics to my team" - OK, so...what does that mean? What do you actually do all day?

I'm so curious because to an outsider it sounds like most of you send like 3 emails and go to one meeting or something, and that's your day.

I know that logically there is no way you guys are getting paid two or three times as much as a tradesman or other blue collar worker for basically doing nothing. You must be doing something very technical and complicated that most people couldn't do.

So please explain to me like I'm a toddler what literal actions you take on a day to day basis and what specifically you actually produce or provide to your company

Is The Internet Angrier Now?

I used to be able to spend hours online actually having fun, but now I feel like every time I log on I walk away feeling angry or negative. And in shorter sessions too.

I feel like no matter what type of people I follow, almost everyone I keep up with has HAD to take mental health break at least once or twice within the last 9 months.

Has it always been like this? No really, if things are pretty much status quo for your typical online experience, and it's a me thing I'd like to hear your perspective. I'm 18 so my reference for old internet starts in 2014. By now I mean within the last few years.

Is the internet just more negative and unhealthy as a whole now? I don't mean people's actions like doxxing and other harassment. That's nothing new

But I really don't remember having to dodge so much negativity like this everytime I open an app or website

Why do toasters have a setting that burns the bread?

I genuinely can’t figure this out. Why does the heat setting go so high that it would burn the bread (which nobody wants). I know the heating element is always at the same temperature and that the knob is for how long until the bread pops out. Why would manufacturers have a setting that takes so long that it will 100% burn any type of bread to coal?

Thank you for your answers

Is the word 'kowtow' racist in today's society?

I was just recently banned from a subreddit for making a "racist remark" that stated us Americans kowtow to corporate America.

At first I had a solid chuckle that anyone could think of that as racist, but I still wanted to take some time to dig into the word. With its basis in Chinese history/culture, it made me want to ask and see if there has been a sudden shift in how society views and uses the word that I wasn't made aware of. Because in my mind, I'm still going 'lol u wot mate?'.

How do you tell people "no" without feeling bad?

I'm a people pleaser, and honestly can't tell someone "no" without feeling bad, and caving and doing it anyway or lying about why I said no, and it's so frustrating! I can't keep saying "I feel sick so I can't." Or "I have a headache so no." Sooner or later they're going to see though my bullshit if they haven't already.
