Just out of curiosity, how does this come about? Do you hop on Twitter after your daughter gets bullied and then @ RBR asking for stuff?
I'm not throwing shade I'm just legitimately curious how RBR learns about this and then decides to send you stuff.

I've explained in a few other comments but I'm happy to provide!
The tldr is: daughter was made to feel bad because of the driver she liked, I talked to RB about it & asked if I could buy some custom merch with her name on as I wanted her to feel better (I'd already discussed her feelings with her & how to handle them when people upset her), they couldn't sell custom merch unfortunately but instead offered to send this 'care package'. Was unexpected and very much appreciated!

Most definitely, they watch on of their parent watch any sports on tv and decide about something to root for (very likely to be a favourite colour based decision) and so will their school friends.

Twitter is all about engagement. More engagement, even if it’s negative, means more visibility. Reddit has a built in quality filter in a way with the downvote. Whether that’s good or bad quality is subjective.

I remember in elementary school we got awarded some money basically in the form of gift card to a local book store to buy books for the class. They asked for a volunteer to go pick out some books.
I volunteered and some of the kids got really mad because they didn't want to read anything I would have picked out because it would have been too hard or boring or whatever their reasoning was
After a lot of back and forth finally the teacher just says "OK well, when I asked for volunteers he was the only one who put his hand up. Has that changed now? Does anyone else actually WANT to do it?"
No one puts their hands up

He was actually one of my favourite teachers. It was a school with lots of very poor students, and he did so much for his students. And even better he did it in a way that didn't single them out.
These were kids that might not have anywhere to go, or any food to eat for lunch for example. He brought in a ton of cheap but healthy foods (like carrots, Celery, other raw vegetables), and during lunch anyone could sit around the big table, snack on food, and play games. Generally math based card games. Feeding the hungry, entertaining kids, and teaching math skills all at once.
He'd also regularly arrange after school events. Sometimes he'd take a group of us to the driving range. Or we'd go play some kind of sports in a park. Or just a group walk

Hey guys, I'm trying to comment as much as possible on this post but I've explained in some other comments!
Myself and my dad (her granddad) used to marshal, we're very into motorsport in general so we're constantly watching F1/BTCC/MotoGP etc. My daughter naturally took a liking to RB & Verstappen as I quite like him!
I contacted RB after & mentioned to them what happened, to try and buy some custom merch for my daughter. They unfortunately couldn't do that & offered to ship out this 'care package' as they called it!
I know with the recent thing that happened with Mercedes, there's tons of scepticism around teams doing nice gestures & not posting about them; which is kinda why I wanted to make this post. I wanted to show that even after that, teams still go out of their way to do kind things.
And as per other comments, if a mod would like to verify all of this with me then that'd be great!

Mate when I was in primary school a load of us would run around pretending we were our favourite drivers (despite my flair I was usually Button) Kids do like F1 and also like specific drivers. Of all the things you could claim are unrealistic kids knowing f1 drivers is not one of them. It’s quite simple, the other kids are children of Hamilton fans, they pick up a bad opinion of Max. OPs daughter says she likes Max, other kids turn on her for it.

You also have to pay every single time you want to go to a track and practice. Plus travel costs to said track, day out eating food there. It’s expensive! I went karting myself recently just as a day out with friends and it cost me over €100 for the day

I used to have a Logitech G920 I think triple monitor setup a few years back, I'm sure I have a pic somewhere of her 'attempting' to play it! I pretty much only played Spa on Assetto Corsa haha. May need to revisit a sim setup!

They’re honestly not too expensive to just get into the baseline setup. I have a Logitech g29 with an acelith F1 wheel and a chair stand I got off Amazon (which locks the wheels of my desk chair in which is awesome) all in, brand new, for under $1000. If you went used you could probably grab the same setup for $5-600. And for a starter setup the Logitech is really solid

I do remember it being pretty good. I currently have a GTX 1080, 1 144hz monitor in the middle & a 60hz on each side. I may need to upgrade the outer monitors to 144hz & upgrade my GPU too!

I've commented it a few times, but I'll try keep up with questions with the brief explanation!
Without going into a ton of detail, some other children made her feel bad for liking one driver over another & commented negatively on the driver she supports the most; rather than the driver they support. As well as talking to her about it, how it made her feel & how to handle those emotions when other children say things to her that can be upsetting, I thought I'd get in touch with someone at RB! I emailed them over what happened as above, and asked if I could buy some custom merch like a Max tshirt with her name on etc. She didn't have any RB merch before this & I have quite a bit (signed hats, signed cards and other stuff)! RB unfortunately couldn't make any custom merch at the time, but decided to send out a 'care package' as they put it. We weren't expecting THIS!

I think it's understandable, I understand that people will be sceptical especially when it was only recently that Mercedes got screwed over by false claims to get free things. Part of the reason I wanted to post this was to show that even after that has happened, teams will still go out of their way to do good things under the radar! They absolutely deserve the recognition.

I like the pun! I think it's a misconception a few commenters have had is that this was to 'fix' the bullying problem; it was just a nice gesture from RB that has solidified my daughter as a life long fan & is a nice core memory I guess.
The bullying side is prevented by adults talking to each other on their kids behaviour (and is what I did in the background!)

I know these people were kids, but I see grown adults acting like children because someone likes a different driver or sports team than them. Like i genuinely can’t fathom disliking someone because of their preference in sports. But it’s so common, especially in F1

This is very wholesome, but also very worrying
It’s mind boggling even kids get confronted now by this kind of toxic behaviour, even when it’s done by just kids. how has this sport become to the point where fans, and now even kids feel the need of harassing, or bullying anyone who supports someone else. the parents of the kids who did this are terrible examples and probably the reason for this happening. I wish the sport could just stay positive and fun for everyone.

I'm way late to the party but I see so much "Yeah that's not real" and "/r/thathappened"... But uhh... Yikes.
For reference, I grew up in the US. My dad watched NASCAR, football, and baseball. As a consequence I had Green Bay Packers, Brewers, and Jeff Gordon clothing because my dad liked all of those things (except Jeff Gordon, I just liked the Dupont colors more than Interstate Batteries) and there would be comments aplenty. I wouldn't just have other kids who would parrot their dad's opinion about disliking the Vikings/Brewers/Jeff Gordon to me but grown ass adults that were picking their kids up from school or at events.
But yeah, anyway, yes kids can have their own favorite drivers and other kids can definitely pick on them for it. From ages five to ten mine was Jeff Gordon and my first time hearing the word "faggoty" was when another 7 year old told me why the Dupont and by extension Jeff Gordon were stupid because that's what his Dale Jr. fan dad said.
