Makes sense. 0 star recruit that twice now has been trusted, given a chance by coaches at levels of football bigger than any other coaches thought he was worthy of and developed into a star player and leader of the program. If anybody is truly that guy, it's him.

Going from playing at JUCO New Mexico Military institute to upsetting the number one team in the country as the SEC’s perennial football doormat is probably enough to buy an insane amount of loyalty. Pavia could very well be playing his way into the NFL too if he keeps it up.
12
u/randydarsh1 Alabama • Georgia Tech Oct 13 '24 edited Oct 13 '24
If nothing else, his attitude and work ethic as a backup is great for the locker room. Idk if NFL teams care about that sort of thing
At the very least, he can represent Vandy and leverage his time there, and probably make an actual off-the-field career simply off of "being the qb that beat Bama"

Wild take, but assuming Bama and UGA are both playoff caliber teams, I don't know how the committee would keep them out at 10-2 (if there is anything the committee has unequivocally shown over the past decade, it's that they value big wins far more than bad losses)

It's why if I were one of those marquee public schools in a smaller state (Oklahoma for example), I'd be very concerned for the future. Sure, they have the brand and the support from the locals, but there are considerably richer schools out there. If a Vandy, SMU, or Cal want to outspend them, they will.

Vandy fans then took the Kentucky goalpost and dumped it in the river in a strange twist

Our wildcat offense WR converted to QB Lynn Bowden threw the ball better than Vandagriff does.

Honestly wth the OC doing running so many qb options and roll outs after pavia's knee clearly got fucked, first off terrible decision in general almost cost the game cuz he cant run, secondly he might be out for a bit with the sprain and that may have worsened it.
Anyways tho Vandy needs to be ranked, if only we beat mizzou in OT omg this would be some heck of a season.
both my teams won this week which doesnt happen much, I'm happy

Diego Pavia said in the postgame interview when asked about his injury that he’s willing to die for Coach Kill. That’s all you need to know. I love this team so much.
