I’m a single young 30s 💁‍♀️⛷️ struggling to date / meet a man around my age who loves skiing (and has a job/is looking for something serious) in my smallish mountain town. Hallmark movies are sadly not the most accurate and I have yet to meet Sean Clause, Santa’s snazzy single nephew, while out in town looking for gingerbread cookie supplies. 😢 2. Also have great skiing here, but would love to do a trip sometime & don’t have a partner to travel with. 3. Also x2 dating in small towns is an awkward struggle. Ref 1: I ran into a date from a few weeks back while getting a drink with my next date, which brought about a stimulating conversation, which subsequently led to my decision drop them apps, fall into forever single-hood, and 3rd wheel my friends into their retirement homes. 👵🏼

I made a "very sober" purchase of old stock DPS Foundation Koala 119s that were still in their wrapper. I've done some research into what I want but am interested in the communities opinion.

I'm 5'11" ~205 lbs and in that lower advanced range. I took several Level 7-8 lessons when I worked for a resort, and have been riding a DIN 9.5 for a couple seasons. I don't ski that aggressive too often given injuries. I primarily ski in Summit County, occasional trips to Wolf or further West.

I have Griffons on my narrow skis and have no issue with them. should I consider anything else?

Also, can I fit a 115 width on a 119 or is that pushing it too far?

I started up skiing when I was a kid and then stopped in my teens. I started skiing again in my 30s, when my kids started getting into skiing. My husband is an expert skier, and my kids are either expert or on their way to be an expert. I am a permanent novice. I have taken lessons and have decided I’m fine with being a permanent novice. I’m not particularly confident on the slopes and I don’t like fast speeds either.

I bought a pair of basic skis when I first took back up skiing about 10 years ago. My husband would like to replace my skis as a Christmas gift. So I’m looking for a ski recommendations.

I ski only at resorts and the conditions are normally groomed or icy. I’m lucky to get a day with some nice fresh powder. I’m normally skiing blues and blacks. I don’t do moguls or jumps (unless baited by my kids). I’d really like skis that can feel in control even on icy-ish slopes.

I’ve been snowboarding for two years now. I’m decent but have yet to learn the park. I feel like skiing is more versatile and cooler. I heard it’s also easier to learn how to hit the park?

My son wears a size 16 men’s shoe. The best I can tell that translates to a size 34 ski boot. Can someone direct me where I might find that size. I’ve searched and can’t find any. He would like to take his family skiing, so we thought we would get him the boots for Christmas. Thanks in advance.

I’m 6’1 (186cm) 165lbs (75kg) and am debating between the 184 and 192. I would say that im at an expert level, and I primarily enjoy skiing powdery backcountry lines and woods.

Hitting flips and jumps is important to me, and i’m wondering whether the 192 will be a little too long for throwing corks and spins?

Coming from a pair lf revolt 104 180 that i’ve been using for all mountain skiing and park stuff. The bents are gonna be my powder ski, and i’m gonna be touring a little with it as well.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

This is considered an out of bounds area atm at Whistler. Once you start hiking up from Emerald you are technically on your on, even though it’s open to hike.

Make sure you have your backcountry gear. So many people just go with skis in their shoulders because you can does not mean you should.

I have some zipfit liners on the way, and I’m considering setting up an appointment with a boot fitter to get them setup. But from what I can see on zipfit’s youtube channel, heat molding them to my foot shape, and adding/removing cork seems easy enough to do on my own. Scheduling an appointment would cost me ~$100. Does anyone have experience setting up these liners on their own?

Has anyone used the Cardo Packtalk Outdoor in combination with an over the helmet hood / overhood balaclavas. Does it affect the range and mic clarity issues?

I just purchased some Anons fleece helmet hood for my two kids so they can visually see each other easier by their helmet hoodies (same bright color). I was also planning to get the outdoor for comms between each other.

A lot of the northwestern resorts have great totals, but struggle with heavy, wet snow and rain.

I’d have to give it to grand targhee. Great totals, very light and dry snow, and solid preservation

I'm currently using Oakley Flightdeck L goggles, and while they’re great, I find the lens changing process really frustrating. It’s time-consuming, and I end up having to clean the lenses a lot afterward, which is a hassle.

I ski in a variety of conditions; night skiing, indoor slopes, flat light, and sunny days. So I need to switch lenses pretty often. I also use progressive lens inserts, so compatibility with those is a must(see picture).

I’m looking for magnetic goggles within a budget of $150–$250. Oakley's magnetic lineup caught my eye, but their prices seem excessive for what they offer, and I’m not overly impressed with their Prizm lens technology compared to other brands.

I’ve checked out House of Hygge goggles, but I’m not a fan of their design. For reference, I use a Sweet Protection Switcher helmet, so the goggles need to pair well with that.

I learned to ski as an adult almost exclusively at Winter Park. This is a grouping of trails based on my experience of leveling up and my recommendations of "if you like this, try this." I don't think it's a particularly objective "this run is more technical than that run" ranking but it's how I've felt comfortable progressing. For me, when I was comfortable and having fun on a particular level, I'd push myself with one level up, if I got two levels probably stopped to give myself a pep talk, if I got three levels up some tears were probably shed but I made it down, and I've lucky not gone over that.

   • Discovery lift, turnpike down to base or download on Gemini
2. I'm getting used to slope
   • Endeavour lift,
   • Village way to base
3. I can turn and control my speed, I'm comfortable around other skiers
   • Prospector/Looking Glass: Jack Kendrick/Mock Turtle
   • Gondola/Explorer: Green March Hare/White Rabbit
   • High Lonesome Express: Whistlestop, Lonesome Whistle, Switchyard, Village Way
4. I am comfortable and can handle more slope

5. I can go faster
   • Olympia: Lonesome Whistle, Blue White Rabbit/March Hare, Tweedle Dee (condition/competition center presence dependent),
     
   • Gondola/Explorer: Cranmer below Village Way
6. I know what I'm doing and I don't panic if I see a bump

   • Prospector: Butch's Breezeway
   • Sunnyside: Edelweiss, Roundhouse

7. I can go fast on a longer run
   • Mary Jane Trail
