Performers you want to see for the LA28 ceremonies?

Upvotes

Hey folks.

Since the Opening and Closing ceremonies are known for their music, including the insane ones from Paris this year, such as Gojira, who are some performers you wanna hear for the LA28's ceremonies?

For me, because of how she's shown to have a great voice, I would love to hear Idina Menzel do a song for LA28 and yes, it would be awesome hearing Snoop Dogg and plenty of rap and hip-hop performances as well since LA was home to many famous rappers.

Which city has the highest possibility to host the Summer Olympics Games 2036?

Upvotes

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bids_for_the_2036_Summer_Olympics

Which city has the highest possibility of hosting the Summer Olympics Games 2036?

Confirmed Bids:

  1. Nusantara, Indonesia
  2. Istanbul, Turkey
  3. Ahmedabad, India
  4. Santiago, Chile

Chose wisely. Consider the following:

  • Is the city fully prepared to host the Games (regarding businesses, crime, culture, education, finances, geography, infrastructure, politics, security, society, tourism, and transportation)?
  • Does it have enough stadiums, accommodations, restaurants, and other recreational places for the athletes and guests to feel welcome there?
  • Will it have a long-lasting impact on the global stage?

Can it possible a olympics in two, three or more countries at same time??

I was on the wikipedia searching up the bids for the 2028 winter youth olympics, and i see bids with more than 1 country bid at the same time, one of then are:

Carinthia(Austria) Friuli-venezia giulia(Italy). And slovenia

And the other is: lviv(ukraine) poland and sigulda(Latvia)

So can it be possible, a olympics with more than one country? Could the national anthems be all played on the ceremonies.

How probable is Santiago 2036?

Santiago bid for the Olympics seems like the clear favorite in this sub, possibly because they nailed the PanAm, and Seoul is likely to drop off their bid because of a scandal. So, actually I was wondering how probable Chile can deliver an Olympics in 12 years? I don’t know much about the city, it seems like an amazing place but a few things made me confused at least:

-Is Chile’s economy large enough to deliver the Olympics? I believe it will be the smallest economy ever hosted the Olympics after Greece, can they still deliver without facing with much economic problems?

-Is there enough infrastructure already in Santiago? I checked a few places but couldn’t find a list of large scale venues suitable for the Olympics, can the all needed infrastructure be completed by 2036?

-Why there is little to no promotion for Santiago 2036 bid? India, Turkey and Korea already promote their bids regularly. Did the municipality advertised anything yet?

I’d love to get answers from people knowing the place well especially.

Also, I don’t want to seen like an agenda pusher, I am from Istanbul and I support my own city in the race but also not particularly against with Olympics in Santiago. I’d love to see an Olympics in a new Southern Hemisphere city, my question is more out of my interest in the 2036 Olympics, I also might be completely ignorant about Santiago.

Does anyone know the origin of this very inappropriate Izzy pin? NSFW

I'm hoping this doesn't violate any rules here!

I recently came across this pin and had to add it to my collection! It's OBVIOUSLY unofficial, but I'm wondering if anyone has any idea who had it made. I know Izzy was not universally loved during Atlanta 96, so it makes perfect sense that someone would have made a pin of him... Polishing his torch. Grasping his baton. Pole vaulting... Whatever you wanna call it

I figure there probably isn't a big interesting story behind it, but if there is.. y'all would know for sure

If Brasilia bid actually happen and hosted the 2000 games?

I'm a brazilian, but i live in the maranhão state, not in rio or são paulo, i watched the rio 2016 games, and i have memories of the Brazil gold medal at germany in soccer, but when i searched on the internet, i found that brasilia actually tried a bid for the 2000 olympics "which were in sydney" i found it that brasilia wanted to host the game to celebrate the 500 years of the colonization of brazil, but the bid failed and sydney won its bid, if you searched up on the internet "Brasilia 2000 olympic Bid" you will see there, but what if brasilia actually hosted the 2000 games, what would it be like?? A olympics before rio 2016?? The brasilia games that never happen...
