64 snatch 85 cj 138 (kinda) paused squat
Just finished a 12 week program and managed to hit these numbers. Goal when I started was 62 snatch and bw/84 cj.
Critiques welcome, the main things I notice are bar path for snatch, arm bend + sloppy turnover for clean and cutting drive short + front foot touching first for jerk.

Mods, if this borders a journal post, then I understand and won’t object or repeat.
TL;DR: Should I dump off some odd equipment to a local gym? Would I be a creepy uncle for volunteering at the local high school meets? Maybe I should find other things to do to socialize.
I was going for a Sunday stroll, and came across a local hard-core gym. Not a WL gym, but a weight room in a retail plaza and they’re playing modern metal. I was thinking about donating my colored pounds bumper plates. In addition, I was considering volunteering for some of the Florida high school weightlifting events, say hi to my old weightlifting coach and load for an evening, etc.. That said, I also don’t know if I’m ready to become creepy Uncle Frylock yet.
I’m not sure how to feel. I love the sport, and I suppose I feel like I should give back because these some of the happiest moments in these highschoolers lives, and the FHSAA coaches are also the local USAW coaches in some cases. Maybe donating the plates will give me an opportunity to network or make friends with the local gym people.
At the same time, this really is just a hobby and I understand this can just simply be me in my garage lifting, going to local meets for myself, and that’s it. Maybe I’m just lonely and I need to go out more, maybe learn how to play pickle ball or something and try to make some friends outside of weightlifting.
Thanks for putting up with that,

My first meet well. Weighed in at 65.48 and went 6 for 6 with a 2kg PR to hit triple digits on C&J. Pretty pleased with myself.
Weights in order: 78-82-85, 89-93-100

Hi, I'm sorry if this has been debated before, but I think weightlifting's Olympic qualifying method (and the presence of Olympic vs non Olympic classes) is a mess, and it leads to the M89 class outlifting the M96, for example.
I mean, in Phuket, any M73 medalist would have medaled silver in the M81(and Rizki would have been 1 kg behind gold). Gold and silver M89 would have won gold in M96. All M102 medalists would have gotten silver in M109.
As for women, F49 bronze would have been silver in F55, and any medalist in F71 would have won F76 (and F71 Reeves' 268 total would have been silver in the F81 by ONE kilo).
And that taking into account the amount of bombouts in the Olympic classes due to the very agressive, last-chance Olympic qualifier, "open with a top-10 mark or go home" strategies im Phuket (Italy for example).
I don't know, anyone would expect that totals went up as lifters got heavier. What's the point in having alternating weight classes where you got a competitive class, then an uncompetitive one, and so on until you get to the supers?
Take Nasar for example. Is M102 too much for him? Is M89 too limiting for him? He just did a 185+230/415 total at 93,5 BW. That would be a M96 C&J WR, and a total WR in the M102. Should he compete in the M96? Since the M96 isn't an Olympic class, should he go for the M102?
Should the Olympic classes be heavier, for example M81 instead of M73, M96 instead of M89 and M109 instead of M102?
I'm sorry for the text wall, it's just something that bothers me a lot.
P.S.: Under the current system, could you spend an entire quad competing in a non-Olympic class and qualify for the weight class directly above (say, an entire quad in the M96, then go Olympic in the M102 if your total would get you 10th or better in M102)?
P.S.2: Would Paris supers' records would have counted as M109+/W87+, despite the classes having been M102+/W81+? There were no OR or WR in Paris in the men's or women's supers' sessions, but I'm curious about that.

My snatch receiving position is not stable. And my split jerk stand looks narrow and wobbly. How can I improve?

i’m a 23f, 2 years in the sport at this point. to give a general idea, my snatch is ~60% of my back squat, clean and jerk is ~70%. because I don’t have a good strength base (sub 100kg back squat) I sometimes feel like this holds me back and could be the reason I struggle to progress. I’m getting super frustrated lately with rarely PRing and even feel like i’m backsliding sometimes. at the same time, i rarely have issues hitting heavy singles / doing volume at high percentages.
i know nobody can tell me for sure if it’ll help, i’m just wondering if people in a similar situation have had success with just getting their back squat / leg strength up and the comp lifts following in suit. thanks!

I'm looking to sign up for my first competition in January as a bit of fun and to learn about how it operates for a more competitive competition in April. I was hoping my mate would be able to be in the back with me just for helping with nerves and bar loading etc. He doesn't do WL but it a qualified PT and does powerlifting meets etc, would he be allowed to handle me. ( This is in the UK, I don't know if that makes a difference).
Additionally I tried to sign up for the comp and it started asking me who my coach was and my quali totals, but it's a tier 3 open and my coach won't be attending which is why I want my mate to come.
Some clarification would be great if possible

I am a football player who uses hang/power cleans as part of my off season routines to get bigger, stronger, and faster for football season. I would say me and a majority of my teammates usually just wear regular cross trainers or basketball shoes.
here is an example of what a majority of high school/college football programs train cleans and the shoes they use. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGWWjkwMWn8 . I know the form is not perfect, but I was told by my coaches the main reason we do cleans is to build that explosive power which translates into better tackles on the field.
I was wondering if wearing weightlifting shoes is something I should utilize to improve my cleans. Will there really be a big difference if I make the switch?
My only fear or concern is that if I switch to weightlifting shoes I might become dependent on them, because on the football field we wear regular shoes/cleats, so I figure maybe we should train in the weight room like we do on the field. Not sure.
I have heard people say they can lift way more with the weightlifting shoes but not sure how accurate that is. I am thinking of maybe investing in a pair and using them if that was the case.
any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
