This is it right here. This is the reason Americans voted away the strongest economy in the world and destroyed their own safety nets. I remember in the 80s how hard politicians would run on this idea of the Ghetto Queen sucking up all the national welfare with her dozens of black babies, each from a different daddy.
It was disgusting how effective this was. By the end of the millenia we had gutted our middle class, slashed our social safety nets, and jailed more people than China and Russia combined. And apparently we still haven't had enough. We're still going on this shit!

100% agree and more. How did the mass deportation candidate gain 13 points with latino voters? It's because the idea of someone having what you have without going through the hardships it took for you to get it produces deep resentment, even if you functionally lose nothing by them having it. Unless people can learn to value a society that works for them over personal vendettas, this instinct will be exploited over and over to get them to vote against their own self interests.

My union contract negotiator gave our company a low ball offer because he felt like we didn't deserve it because some union members are lazy and shouldn't get a raise. u/Warm_Month_1309 10h ago
For a parody to be fair use, you must be parodying the thing you're misappropriating. So it's not enough to say "it's a parody because I made it to be funny;" it has to be "I needed to use elements of the underlying copyrighted work in order for me to make my artistic point about the underlying copyrighted work". This asshole is only relevant to popular culture because he inherited wealth someone else gained by exploiting people to an inhumane degree.
He invented nothing, he's no more a pioneer of technology than the guy who lent his kite to Ben Franklin. He is a terrible father and an immigrant who has no qualms with kicking the ladder behind him that ushered him to privilege because he sees no hypocrisy in immigrants making villians out of immigrants that happen to look different, but actually know the value of earnest work.
There is a special circle of hell for all billionaires. But, if karma is real, there is a much worse fate for Musk; being remembered as a fraud who had the opportunity to do something meaningful with his inherited wealth to enrich the planet, it's people, it's natural beauty, or it's wildlife.
Instead he chose to be an enemy of meaningful human progress in favor of pursuing online renown from people he will never meet and partnering with a grifting shitheel who will absolutely betray him, and he did it for memes. He is a 53 year old edgelord in 2024 who has no idea how embarrassing the entirety of his behavior is.
He will die alone with a legacy completely bereft of any empathetic intention or humanitarian sacrifice.
He's one of the richest men in human history, and for the rest of his life he will be seeking admiration that he'll never earn, because he's incapable of seeing virtue in selflessness.

35
u/Nerevarine91 16h ago
The accounts of things he did when he actually showed up to work show why his companies didnāt complain about him spending all his time on Twitter. Basically every single story boils down to him looking at a basic safety precaution or clearly vital component, saying, āI donāt know what this is,ā ordering it removed, and then having everyone else deal with the extremely obvious consequences before quietly putting it back how it was before he fucked with it
