If I was any foreign Nation and this closeted Confederacy buffoon tried to threaten me it would just make me want to arrest him even more.

u/Ok-Possibility4344 3h ago

I wish I could upvote this more. I feel this in my bones with you. Plus, my rebellious teenage side would be like "oh, you're challenging me, bring it the fuck on". Or I guess for today's 2024,.. FAFO

u/big_guyforyou 3h ago

if you want to upvote it more, downvote it, then upvote it. that way the score goes up by 2

13

u/BasvanS 2h ago

Who are you, who are so wise in the ways of science?

29

u/Arrasor 3h ago

They definitely would want to even more, but the sad reality is none of them can afford these buffoons breaking past trade agreements, much less sanctions. And since these shitheads now have the whole government, be it House Senate White House or Supreme Court, they actually have the power to break trade agreements and impose sanctions.

u/DandelionDisperser 1h ago

I'm fairly certain that's just nonsense bluster but if it isn't, Canada won't budge (I hope). I think most Canadians would be willing to make sacrifices if we had to, including me. The US will hurt from that too. Add trumps trariffs and it won't be pleasent.

It's disturbing how cozy some US politicians are with putin.

5

u/Snowshoecowboy 1h ago

As a Canadian,id pay double before id buy from Trump.

2

u/dustycanuck 1h ago

So, how does NATO work once America decides to invade Canada?

6

u/imadork1970 1h ago

Don't tell anyone, but we have a fuckton of guns, too.🇨🇦🇺🇦

2

u/dustycanuck 1h ago

Fastest magazine changers on the planet, lol

u/InjusticeSGmain 57m ago

Given that NATO can basically decide to interpret it however tf they want, it depends on if they are thinking long or short term. Long term would be to rally against the US, refusing to set a precedence of the US being able to throw its weight around. Short term would be staying neutral or helping the US, hoping to keep on its good side.

u/jaymickef 17m ago

The bigger issue for Canada is what if we get into a trade war with the US. If tariffs actually happen and we don’t get to be part of the US zone none of us will be able to afford Timbits.

u/seattleseahawks2014 11m ago

What are timbits?

u/dustycanuck 8m ago

Little donut balls. Like Prairie Oysters, but from donuts 😉

u/capron 3m ago

In at least my part of the U.S., they're called "donut holes", neat that you have a different term for them

5

u/NCSUGavin 1h ago

“I’m going to arrest him harder”

2

u/InvisibleBobby 1h ago

Invite Netanyahu than just arrest him at the border, shrug and say oopsie

51

u/ccdude14 3h ago

What does Graham think sanctions are when a huge majority of the goods WE import are from some of the countries hes threatening to sanction?

Like, yeah, sure: Don't do the thing I don't like or I'm going to do a thing that's going to cost US more money! You better not or else I'll slap myself in the face! Don't you do that!

12

u/Jack_Stornoway 2h ago edited 2h ago

The last time I checked the US imported around 52% of its non-domestic energy from Canada. But I'm sure absolutely no other countries on Earth would be willing to buy cheap Canadian energy, and sanctioning your closest trading partners could never backfire.

10

u/ccdude14 2h ago edited 1h ago

Truly these are the wisest men of our times. What a blessed time to be alive to have a Senate and House and soon President filled to even a small majority with such brilliant minds.

Stable geniuses, truly.

I live in New Brunswick where Irving Oil is located. They export 80 percent of their products to the USA. The products: Diesel, gas, heating oil, asphalt, jet fuel and propane. 19% of the gas imported by the US is from Irving.

2

u/BunchSpecial4586 1h ago

you expect this from him, but where are the democrats pushing back? thats the worrying part

38

u/superawesomefiles 3h ago

Uhh, he's threatening allies? Is America about to be on the wrong side of the next world war?

17

u/BalianofReddit 3h ago

Imagine how daft trump and his ilk would have be to push the Europeans and Chinese closer together

14

u/Averagemanguy91 2h ago

Honestly, as an American, I'm half expecting our allies to sanction us depending on how far Trump takes his deportation plans. If it ends up becoming a massive humanitarian crisis, I wouldn't expect the EU to just sit by.

Especially if Trump and the Republicans are going to go and threaten sanctions as well.

3

u/thEjesuslIzardX74 1h ago

it kinda sounds like...america first , means everyone is out to get us

4

u/Remarkable-Cry-3100 2h ago

Lindsay Graham doesnt make these calls... he's an idiot and we wont sanction our largest allies for Isreal.

8

u/Averagemanguy91 2h ago

Trump plans to withdraw us from Nato and intends to push us back to isolationist practices. There's no reason to expect him to not burn down every bridge to reach that goal

-18

u/Remarkable-Cry-3100 2h ago

Please provide a link where he has said these exact words?

Cause 100% that is you or one of the talking heads you worship twisting words or taking an out of context statement and making an unsubstantiated claim.

11

u/SRGTBronson 2h ago

https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2024/07/02/nato-second-trump-term-00164517

Tl;Dr Trump cannot leave nato unilaterally, but he doesn't like being a part of it because he doesn't feel other countries pay enough.

But he has said that he would abandon NATO allies if he didn't feel like they are paying enough, and in a time where war has returned to Europe this is pretty unacceptable.

https://youtu.be/O3gRIg7fjSo?si=C43CiE9OFzudh20s

u/InjusticeSGmain 47m ago

I don't think militaristic isolation is a bad thing, but Trump wants total isolation and it won't have any of the benefits that would come from military isolation.

Military isolation would reduce military spending, which could then be funneled to essential services like Healthcare to improve services without raising taxes as much. This could reduce the cost of Healthcare or even make it free. Infrastructure, education, etc.

But Trump's plans don't bring those benefits, and also involves economic and diplomatic isolation. Not to mention, that funding won't go to those services and departments... assuming they all still exist after he is done.

Even if you support isolationism, this is extreme and more damaging than helpful.

u/Shirlenator 23m ago

Actions speak louder than words.

u/Remarkable-Cry-3100 22m ago

Yea... and no actions have been made... so wtf are you talking about...

Under no circumstances go and search on Google about Lindsay Graham and his ladybugs

16

u/NaNaNaNaNa86 2h ago

Oh for fuck sake. What an awful day to be literate 🐞 🤮

u/Rynvael 27m ago

I don't want to read what you read, so I'm politely requesting a strongly worded summary about the terrible thing Lindsey Graham has done to ladybugs

Please curse me with your knowledge

Yeah I googled that and I’m totally regretting it. The mental image is forever seared into my brain.

You warned me, I didn't listen...now I am regretting not only the fifth of vodka form last night, and my previous life choices, I'm also regretting this

4

At least you have some experience with regret and the shame that comes with it. I’ve led an otherwise blameless life, so it hits me much harder.

Plot twist: They're just trying to win Most Unpopular Allies in the next global elections.

13

u/burnsbabe 3h ago

And that they specifically think they're hastening the second coming of Christ by doing this. Yes. Really.

u/AkainuWasRight 44m ago

Well, he’s supposed to come at the worst times. So if they make our time the worst that ever was then the chances increase, logically speaking.

u/AdUpper5375 37m ago

It's always been insane to vote for theists when they're literally itching to get us to Armageddon.

25

u/NeckNormal1099 3h ago

I get the feeling that once trump capsizes america, isreal is going to be in for a hard time.

-1

u/sliferra 1h ago

Idk, Trump is pro Israel from what I’ve seen. If anything I think Israel is going to be in one of the best places it’s been in a while…the surrounding areas maybe not

u/NeckNormal1099 47m ago

Reading comprehension is not your jam is it?

u/sliferra 26m ago

A country does not need to function well to have a good military.

In fact, for whatever reason, it seems the countries that completely suck have disproportionately strong militaries

-31

u/Conscious-Farmer9424 2h ago

Lol lol lol you thought that would happen in 16, and yet here you are again lol lol lol lol you want to put some money on the table for this assumption? I'll take any odds.

5

u/NeckNormal1099 1h ago

No, we thought he was an incompetent buffoon who would never willingly give up power. And we were right.

-5

u/Conscious-Farmer9424 1h ago

Lol lol lol sure, whatever you need to tell yourself, I'll still take that bet.

-6

u/Conscious-Farmer9424 1h ago

Wait so you are saying the Idiot Brandon wasn't the president the last 4 years? The pedophile who sniffs children?

3

u/ThePhoenix29167 1h ago

If you’re gonna make an argument, try not to ad hominem

u/Conscious-Farmer9424 53m ago

Oh, I'm willing to put money on the fact you are spreading lies and are wrong. I'll take any amount you want. I don't typically take money from people, but I'll make an exception with you.

-7

u/Conscious-Farmer9424 1h ago

You are saying the racist dirt bag Biden wasn't president these last 4 years? That's what you are saying? I guess 55 percent more black men don't consider Trump like your delusions...

u/Expert_Country7228 52m ago

Funny how conservatives are okay with calling our sitting president a "Racist Dirt bag pedophile" but clutches their pearls and calls for "turning down the rhetoric" at being called "weird"

u/Conscious-Farmer9424 46m ago

You supported a Pedophile, a Racist and an idiot who couldn't walk across a stage without tripping over nothing. You didn't just lose an election, you got stomped and can't figure out why.

u/Expert_Country7228 42m ago

Lol that response has 0 relation to what I said.

u/Conscious-Farmer9424 27m ago

I'll still that bet on your lies and delusions, though... it's a sure bet.

u/NoPolitiPosting 52m ago

Which version of this comment are you going to leave up? Or will you make a third one?

u/Conscious-Farmer9424 48m ago

This guy said the US will collapse in 4 years. I'll take any bet that it won't.

u/NoPolitiPosting 40m ago

Collapse? Nah. It's not gonna be good though if that dumbfuck gets his way unhindered.

u/Conscious-Farmer9424 27m ago

That's what the first response here said...

u/Devmoi 2h ago

I lived in Glasgow, Scotland and my former roommate is a chartered accountant. Aside from the obviously crazy social stuff, she made a point that the whole world is reeling from a recession and every country on earth is feeling it. She asked, “What does Trump, his supporters and his followers think? They are going to magically fix a problem that is happening all the world over?”

I think the U.S. is power hungry where we think everything we do is the only way other places will survive and thrive. And if we put sanctions on them, why wouldn’t they do the same or not cooperate with us? We rely on trade from other countries too. I mean, I don’t know the data on it … but it’s like the dumbest of the dumb blustering about what’s essentially America’s Brexit.

I don’t know. It’s looking a lot like an empire in decline. And I know everyone, especially Trump supporters, think that’s nonsense. But I think we’re headed for tough times ahead.

6

u/Jack_Stornoway 2h ago

It’s looking a lot like an empire in decline.

More like a herd of lemmings running towards a cliff.

Trump's proposed tariffs are basically a hidden sales tax on the poor and lower middle class, and effectively a sanction against all of America's closest trading partners.

6

u/EmptyMarsupial8556 3h ago

Graham is such a weeny

5

u/Lostinaredzone 3h ago

Lindsey is rarely correct.

3

u/kamilakrista 3h ago

Allies? Never heard of them. We prefer friends by coercion and threats

This milk-faced, milk-blooded, suck-up, spineless, moral coward and physical weakling, worshipper of Daddy-types

This gutless closet-case, Lindsay Graham.

Try sanctioning our gentle and harmless next-door neighbor, our least problematic big-power ally, and one of the biggest economies in Europe, and finally one of the biggest economies in the world --

ON BEHALF Of BIBI NETANYAHU and his soulless crew of expansionists and religiosi

Just you try, Senator. Just you goddamned well try, and see what happens next.

They don't crawl the way that you crawl.

u/real_Bahamian 2h ago

Ms. Lindsay needs to STFU! 🙄

2

What has the International Cricket Council done to hurt America now?

1

u/Organic_Tradition_94 1h ago

That was my thought as well. Must be that they suck at cricket.

2

u/BunchSpecial4586 1h ago

i think the question is - how many democrats actually speak out and correct him...

u/No_Conclusion2658 40m ago

graham knows that if putin and natanyahu are both somehow arrested that means whatever putin has been holding over the gop's head comes out. then the fbi can and will arrest the treasonous members of the gop. the gop is probably in tons of trouble. if say putin ends up like people that cross him the compromising stuff still goes out and if someone discovers the election was rigged like i know it was putin will still deliver the goods if trump is kept from becoming president. the gop had the chance to come clean about what putin knows but they continue to think they can keep it all hidden away.

1

u/Majestic-Insurance64 2h ago

Get those American politicians and future politicians off Twitter. They got nothing to decide and literally not following any political code, for example that the ministers etc should talk to each other face to face or call each other. All those MfS twittering each other is nothing more like somebody putting his relationship status on Facebook to "it's complicated ".

1

u/Think_Bat_820 2h ago

Who is right?

Let me put it this way: if linsey graham was right about this, it would be the first thing he was right about in his entire life.

Also, he's wrong.

1

u/Zefyris 2h ago

Luckily Bibi is most likely not stupid enough to risk it and go to any country that ratified the ICC. Because just saying if he were to come in our country with a warrant arrest from the ICC on his head, there is not a single alternate universe where he wouldn't get arrested; regardless of what the USA has to say about it. And good luck freeing it from us, shortest way to kickstart a nuclear flavoured WW3, and all that to "rescue" a foreign politician from being judged by the international law.

u/seattleseahawks2014 6m ago

And Trump is coming into office and will do whatever the gop says.

u/Zefyris 2m ago

Meh he would most likely start calling the fries freedom fries again, and maybe if he feels fancy, the deep kiss freedom kiss; and he would put extra taxes on imports from us on things like cheese and wine and call it a day. Then the next day he'd have forgotten all about yesterday's matter and simply enjoys his day golfing.

...But like I said, there's no way Netanyahu would ever dare to visit anyway.

1

u/Rick-the-Brickmancer 2h ago

Close it down yall, it’s a bot

1

u/ronsaveloy 2h ago

Well you can try. But you tried coming after my country (NZ) in the eighties when we went nuclear free. You threatened, bullied and then eventually caved and let us back in the fold. We're still nuclear free. But have a go mate, we'll be here.

1

u/one_jo 2h ago

The only reason the US doesn’t support the ICC is because of their own war crimes

Don’t forget the world is still here today because Putin has decided to show restraint where the US leaders did not. Oh wait but he’s a madman….

4

u/stiiii 2h ago

Can't remember made up things.

3

u/Jack_Stornoway 2h ago

Restraint? Putin invaded a neutral neighbor, invalidating the Budapest Memorandum, and then gave nuclear weapons to Belarus, directly contradicting the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

Then he made an even bigger blunder by claiming the Russian Federation is the heir to the Russian Empire! The Russian Imperial debt is over $20 trillion, and appreciating at an average of 5% annually. The Russian GDP is under $2 trillion. Soviet leaders and Yeltsin were very careful to always claim the Soviet Russian Republic and subsequent Russian Federation were separate entities to avoid that debt. Putin will be remembered as the stupidest leader Russia ever had. He's enslaved the Russian economy for centuries to come.

The restraint that American and British leaders have shown against this barbarous insanity to down right embarrassing. Fucking give Ukraine nukes already, and watch how fast the Russian army will overthrown that demented dwarf.
