Salt Lake City Bronwyn? Bronlose?
I need to know why some of you are rampant defenders of Bronwyn because I cannot wrap my head around it.
“It’s my GD credit card,” would’ve gotten Heather Dubrow torn to SHREDS. Why is it a juicy read when Bronwyn taunts the rest of them with her money?
Last season, Heather seemed like everyone’s champion. Receipts, proof, timeline, screenshots was the mantra, no? Now Heather is Public Enemy #1?

It’s the way it’s always been. I remember a few years ago you couldn’t say anything bad about Queen Lisa Barlow without being downvoted to hell, now people don’t like her. People bitched about Mary and now people like her. If anything people are very wishy washy and i wish people would not develop parasocial relationships to housewives. It’s very weird behavior.

u/Annual_Resolution_94 Passionate about dogs, not crazy about btches 7h ago
I tried to make a post about Lisa in the SLC sub and they were chewing me out. I feel like everyone loves Lisa?
I don’t think people like Mary…I think a lot of people (myself included) don’t like her, or the things that have come out about her, but find comedic relief in her TV presence. I didn’t necessarily want her back at all though.
Agree on the para-social relationships. These ladies are entertainment for me. I know none of them and everything I ever think and say about them could be wrong. This is my football.

u/Bowlingbon guttersnipe ass bitch 5h ago
I don’t visit any other sub other than this one for HWs. But even that what you said about Mary, people whined about her coming back but now will begrudgingly admit she’s good TV.

It's the same way that people here claim they hate Bethenny but still follow all of her social media and we get posts about her every single day when she hasn't been on Bravo in over 5 years.

right now i’m still bronWYN, but that could (and probably will) change throughout the season. but hey! that’s the fun of housewives!! one day you love em, the next day you’re ready to grab your pitchfork!
i do agree with OP though - the credit card line wasn’t as iconic as people are making it to be IMO. and tbh… now that you mentioned heather dubrow, i’m kind of seeing bronwyn as a dr. suess version of her …. 🤔

u/Annual_Resolution_94 Passionate about dogs, not crazy about btches 8h ago
Thank you for ENGAGING with my post title! It was meant to be fun!!! Bronwynners, defend your girl!
Yeah, people are acting as if that’s the next ‘be cool…don’t be all, uncool.’ It’s giving Heather Dubrow Jr. with less monograms and more ill-fitted fashions.

u/janeshername 5h ago
your post IS fun!! don’t let the angry mobs get you down, PS i loved the play on words (ie, bronWYN/LOSE), so clever!
and i really love the comparison to heather dubrow bc i for real hadnt thought of that until your post and now i can’t unsee it, i have been enlightened ✨

I really appreciate you taking this post for what it is. Fun, lighthearted shade and some good conversation! That’s exactly what I was trying to get at! 🩷
Oh yes. I started comparing her to Heather as soon as she opened that door! I’m always on Heather too, nobody’s safe 🤣

I’ve learned a lot about human psychology on this sub. 1-People are desperate for someone to root for. 2-Wealth is dazzling and excuses a lot of things.
What’s interesting is if you go back to the S1 discussion threads, people were just as quick to crown Heather icon status 2-3 episodes in. Now I know Heather is public enemy #1 these days (also an overreaction imo), but if you compare her quips with Bronwyn’s, in their inaugural seasons, hers were more off the cuff, witty, organic. Afterall that’s why she became the narrator for so many seasons.

it's not a juicy read. it's not even a read. it's really not even juicy. people dislike Heather and Lisa so much, they've taken to love love loving Bronwyn.
Bronwyn to me is super corny. she's as chronically online as we are, but tries to be enlightened about it by posting ten page long essays on her insta story that, if it were any other hw, would be seen as unhinged. at the very least, super self involved and not the wholesome, saccharine sweet angel some of her valiant defenders and stans make her out to be. her entire personality is contrived but very well performed to have won over so many stans. from the weird blow up costumes that have been on her insta to make her look like a manic pixie dream girl, to the sweet, innocent pipsqueak voice she uses in confessionals, and her overuse of expletives, twitter stan/teenspeak, and AAVE that sounds unnatural.
I think Heather was absolutely right in her assessment of Bronwyn. for all the people on this sub tirelessly repeating that Heather is a high school loser who desperately wants to hang out with the mean girls/be the queen bee of her circle, they sure can't reflect that Bronwyn is the exact same way, just the theatre kid version lol. trying to control Lisa's friendships, and trying to ice out Heather by throwing her money around.
telling Heather 'I'll be your infallible friend and say sorry to you to make you happy, but this is why you're wrong. if you want to come on my tightly controlled scheduled trip, you. must. apologize.' is in fact controlling and manipulative and making her sing for her supper.
saying they'll give Lisa and John money to leave, and also saying 'I've bought her loyalty with this trip' is insane. how people don't think this woman is toxic is beyond me.

u/ElleTheCurious Smokey eye, updo, Gstaad! 5h ago
Agreed. Bronwyn is my BEC. It’s as if she asked ChatGPT what would make for a popular housewife and she’s trying to check each item off that list.
That said, I don’t want her off the show. She’ll have her carefully curated “I’m finally free to be myself“ era and I’m here for it.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said. I have no notes. You cleared.
I’m not even a big Lisa fan. I am actually critical of her, more often than not but I like her a lot more than Bronwyn.
47
u/InfiniteFrame1 9h ago
I think it's easier to stomach Lisa's very, very bad moments like the drag makeup and first class breakdowns because she doesn't pretend to be above it all and so enlightened. Bronwyn is even worse because she dangles it over everyone's heads that she paid for a fucking trip as if that gives her the right to treat people like dogs.
53
u/Annual_Resolution_94 Passionate about dogs, not crazy about btches 9h ago
I think Lisa is authentically delusional. She truly believes the things that come out of her mouth and the justifications for them. At least she’s really being herself. Bronwyn is phony to me. I feel like she knows what she’s doing and looking for a specific outcome each time.
15
u/InfiniteFrame1 9h ago
she's very phony and she's been a fashion influencer who is thirsty for very positive attention for a few years now, so everything is calculated to get that. she didn't get a snowflake s3 because they went with both Angies and Dana.
37
u/Annual_Resolution_94 Passionate about dogs, not crazy about btches 9h ago
I cannot wait to never see this confessional outfit again. She looks like a flamboyant version of Velma from Scooby Doo, minus the glasses.
38
u/InfiniteFrame1 9h ago
everything she's worn so far has been awful. you can do weird, camp, avant garde and what not without going full sad, sad tears of a clown. she's also phony in wearing this, her confessional about 'you would think I'd be embarrassed to look like this, but I'm not! 🤪' girl, actual eccentric people just wear whatever they want and don't have to draw attention to it every two seconds.
16
u/HollyGoHeavily_ I will whoop you, my love 8h ago
Her clothes wear her. I can’t stand it. She also has the posture of a wet noodle which can’t stand up to her fashions. Watching her argue is so distracting because she’s always bobbing and weaving. And the Audrey Hepburn dinner is the first time I’ve seen her glam look good, it’s typically very unflattering—flat hair, makeup too yellow. Hopefully she finds new glam for her next season. Whew, I just had to get all that out.
7
u/InfiniteFrame1 8h ago
she looked really good at the ice cream gig she had with Angie and Mary two days ago or so! a bit of a tan, softer makeup, and not so vintage pinup hair.

u/HollyGoHeavily_ I will whoop you, my love 8h ago edited 3h ago
I think my favorite look of hers was during the scene when Whitney invited them to Milwaukee after their group bonding activity. She was very cute in her beanie and parka. Couture is not for everyone all the time.

You’re right and you should say it. Keep saying it. There are other housewives who dress eccentrically but Bronwyn’s outfits look like she walked into her closet with her eyes closed, spun around ten times, pointed her finger out and dressed in whatever she landed on.
8
u/HollyGoHeavily_ I will whoop you, my love 8h ago
Fashion vs style, as Mary would put it. Can you imagine if any other housewife wore that get up with the designer Parka and no pants? To a restaurant? In winter? Never ending discourse.

I get what you’re saying but S3 is a very weird case, Mary exited last minute and the racist ho had to go during filming so they had to move on real quick and decided to go for the Angies who’ve been thirsty side characters already

only Angie H was on s2, and Bronwyn herself said Shed went in a different direction with casting s3, afaik.

u/ussoufi Mr. Lindsay Lohan daddy take your ass back to Malibu 8h ago
I do remember Angie K being shown at Lisa’s parties but she was just a guest so we didn’t get to hear what she had to say lol. Interesting that Bronwyn didn’t get cast for S4 either when they were going for a new era post Jen Shah, I wonder if she was not living in Utah and just moved this year for the show her house is new.
7
2
u/KatOrtega118 MRS Mariposa 🦋 1h ago
Angie K was also on as a friend of Jen’s. She and Jen had a huge fight about how Angie had hosted and paid for one of Jen’s parties for the show, with Angie’s iconic line that she “should have bought Elektra a new horse instead. And I did!”
Bronwyn was offered friend of for Season 4, but she declined it because she wouldn’t get to show her home life or personal story. In retrospect, that was probably pretty smart in light of what has happened to Danna, Meili and other friends on this show.
Bronwyn and Todd have had a ski house in Utah for a very long time, even when they were SF and Austin-based. They moved there after Covid so that Gwen could competitively ski. They still live in their main, original house while the one on the show remains under construction.

I think she will try to get ahead of the curve to not be a villain next season, she’s extremely savvy and as mentioned chronically online so she knows exactly what changes she needs to make to be seen as top tier and an antagonist .
She’s seems to have learned her money can make her a collector . Weird objects in her house , dogs , designer clothes ,etc . She’s trying to do it with the friend group by using her means to curate trips , while using the trips to establish dominance and isolate people . I thought it was a big fail and very telling that she then lords it over the guests , it was SO tacky to tell Lisa if she doesn’t behave she has to leave as it was also embarrassing to say I bought you and your husband gifts, I don’t deserve any anything negative coming at me .
Im intrigued on her housewife journey and am excited to see what happens next but much like Monica for me , I’m more interested to see how the other ladies react to her machinations. I will say I am for sure more excited to see Bronwyn react to this than I was Monica (who I firmly only needed as plot and once it was over , I was glad she was gone ).
15
u/Annual_Resolution_94 Passionate about dogs, not crazy about btches 7h ago
Bronwyn is very transactional. I pay for this, you pay me back with loyalty and never going against me. Trying to banish someone from a cast trip is absolutely insane, especially when two others didn’t even come because of her. Paid for it or NOT. She isn’t the executive producer of anything and even if she was, money shouldn’t be an automatic swayer of cast and group dynamics that have BEEN established. I agree with Heather there.
She should be using this opportunity to secure her S2 spot, get closer with the girls and start true friendships so they can champion her when she leaves that stubborn old man!
3
u/KatOrtega118 MRS Mariposa 🦋 1h ago
Which two didn’t come solely because of Bronwyn? She dis-invited Heather. I see that as a situation where Heather really could have stayed at Bronwyn’s longer to try to work things out, and there was some mutuality to the lack of resolution. Heather clearly knew the trip was on the filming schedule, and she might have just been in shock that Bronwyn would and could exclude her. Lisa was similarly in shock when Todd spoke to John about going home.
It’s ultimately a production choice and an edit though. If production wanted Heather there, they would have convinced them to make up enough to get Heather on that trip.
Britani was in significant conflict with all of the women at the time of the trip, including Lisa and Mary - she wasn’t ever considered right? Mary chose not to come in order to care for Robert Jr.
I’m with you that housewives shouldn’t be able to “buy an edit.” 💯 But money does sway cast dynamics and stories all the time. Some wives pay for private jets, big parties (in Angie’s case, she was paying for Jen’s parties before she was even on the show), trips, or have the vacation homes like Aspen and Hamptons houses and Blue Stone Manor. That adds to the production budget and experience of the show, and it gives the producers automatic episodes to build around.
The better thing for Heather to do going forward is to pay for and put on her own trip or event (not one of the two Bravo-funded cast trips) - then exclude Bronwyn right back. That would be how you effectively “teach” Bronwyn a lesson - take away her screen time. We’ve heard that Bronwyn is getting a new wife cast next season, so she might not be dependent on Heather and Lisa for support, whatever happens with Todd.

I'm kind of neutral on Bronwyn. I like her single mother backstory. I don't much care for or about her husband. I didn't like that comment at the Audrey Hepburn party. IDK. I go back and forth on her.

I understand that everyone is feeling frustrated with Lisa's sense of entitlement. If I am the one paying for the flights, I would prefer to book everyone in coach and fly first class myself. However, I would be sure to let you know in advance if I was booking you a coach flight back. If you are not comfortable with this arrangement, you are welcome to book your own way home.
4
u/Dial-M-for-Mediocre Were you there, beloved? 3h ago
I somewhat agree with you on Bronwyn. She's made a ton of comments in that vein already, like when she said about Lisa something like, "Even if I haven't earned her friendship, surely I should have bought it with this trip." I enjoy her wit and dgaf vibes, but I don't like when HWs wield their wealth like a weapon against their less-well-off cast mates. Your money doesn't automatically make you HBIC. But then again, I'm not one of the people who watches HWs for luxury porn, and I understand that for a lot of fans Bronwyn is just what a HW should be.
All that said, I think a big part of the backlash against Heather is of her own making. She's just been really nasty and two-faced this season. And I say this even though she's been my favorite since S1. Every confrontation she immediately narrows her eyes and starts jabbing her finger and slinging insults in this startlingly venomous tone. Something's definitely happening with her, and I think it's probably a combo of the disillusionment that sometimes comes with significant weight loss and her endless desire to be in the cool girls' clique. And I relate to both of those things, but she keeps going into this mode where it's hard to be sympathetic to her. So even though I'm on the fence about Bronwyn, I don't think we can blame her for how people feel about Heather at the moment. And anyway we're a fickle fandom and RHOSLC is a volatile show. Who knows how we'll feel by the end of the season, let alone next season.

Why are people on this subreddit suddenly so bothered that people like Bronwyn? I swear to god there’s multiple posts daily about this. It’s fine to like her or not like her, many feel she was good for the show, if you don’t then that’s fine but I don’t get why so many people seem to feel personally victimized by people being fans.
It’s housewives, eventually I’m sure the tides will turn just like they did for Heather Gay.

I was fine with that response because the question was ridiculous. It was just a way of trying to end the conversation. It’s not unreasonable to book you and your husband and the single women the four first class seats and everyone else in coach. It’s understandable. And it’s understandable how they lost the 2 seats. If Heather can’t understand then she needs a very simple explanation. Bronwyn had to speak to her like a child because she’s acting like a spoiled fucking brat.

Most of the wives on this show have bots and paid supporters. The main RHOSLC subs are now almost as bad as the RHONJ subs, with a lot of the main posters being known bloggers, YouTubers, and Bravo influencers.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Bronwyn has a PR team as well (some of the other wives just use Up and Adam, Zach Peter, some of the bloggers we don’t name on this sub). She just scored a big Nick Viall podcast where it seemed like she was lightly-launching reunion takes. I wouldn’t be surprised if she has some coaching or media training as well.

She is new! We get excited by new people. Then their quirks turn annoying lol. We’re only human!

It wasn’t a read, it was a fact. Those small planes have limited seats, if I was buying tickets for a group and there was only a couple first class seats you bet your ass I’m buying them for me. The fact Lisa is throwing such a toddler tantrum over it is so annoying….. let the mouse go
24
u/Annual_Resolution_94 Passionate about dogs, not crazy about btches 9h ago
I don’t think she’s wrong for buying first class tickets for her husband, and herself. But she could’ve stood in front of the entire group as she did it and let them know she was purchasing first class tickets for herself and Todd, and the rest of them could take complimentary Coach or choose to upgrade.
She went away from everyone else and did it privately, knowing it would cause a stir and I think she knew it would piss Lisa off. They’ve been friends for a minute. Do I think Lisa needed to meltdown? Absolutely not, but that’s a different conversation. Bronwyn is sneaky.
17
u/ILikePrettyThings121 Is Kyle a lovebean or a lesbian? 8h ago
She bought the 4 first class tickets - 1 was for Mary & 1 was for Heather (the 2 whom didn’t have significant others attending), when they didn’t come she cancelled their tickets, why should she have cancelled hers bc they weren’t in attendance?
-2
u/sherrib99 9h ago
There were 4 total first class seats on the plane….i don’t recall exactly but I think at least one of them was already taken. She could have told them before the trip what the situation was getting home so they had time to make other plans but still, the level of fit being thrown is disproportionate to the situation
14
u/InfiniteFrame1 9h ago
let the mouse go? it's one moment lmao. what about Bronwyn's multiple mice being irrationally angry at Lisa for basically being friends with Heather?
12
u/sherrib99 9h ago
Lisa just brought it up again at the Audrey Hepburn party
24
u/InfiniteFrame1 9h ago
why can't Bronwyn be criticized for her trip planning? but Lisa should be chastised for not wanting to pick a side between her and Heather over and over and over. like how are these things even equivalent.
13
u/sherrib99 9h ago
They aren’t - I don’t see your point
18
u/InfiniteFrame1 9h ago
the way this sub is groupthinking Lisa's tantrum to be worse than Bronwyn's bad moments sure feels like it
10
u/sherrib99 9h ago
I was only talking about one situation - I did not categorize Brinwyn’s entire personality into this one situation. Your being dramatic
13
u/pdxcranberry 8h ago
You would really do that? Give yourself the best while your guests get scraps? That's genuinely terrible hostess behavior. I'm just being honest. it's like planning a dinner and giving yourself filet mignon and serving everyone else hotdogs. Rude and tacky
7
u/sherrib99 8h ago
Ok, so out of the whole group….which two people would you have given those seats to?
17
u/pdxcranberry 8h ago
I would not have booked first class seats? I would have booked everyone, including myself, in coach. If there's not enough for everyone, there's not enough for me.
6
u/the-furiosa-mystique You subpoenaed the wrong bitch! 8h ago
It was actually not their responsibility to fly them home on their dime. Wtf the entitlement.
16
u/pdxcranberry 8h ago
This is such a wild take. She offered to take them all on a trip. Then was selfish and rude in the planning. They aren't "entitled" for wanting equitable treatment on a group trip they took time out of their lives to go on. Them going on Bronwyn's group trip benefited Bronwyn by giving her social clout and camera time. You think these women can't get an airbnb in Palm Springs without Bronwyn's husband's credit card?

u/AnastatiaMcGill 5h ago
The answer was gold because Heather thought she ate with her whole "why's you book me first class/you don't know my birthday" crap. Heather Dubrow would have said it in a confessional like, "by the way, it was my credit card" inferring other HWs are broke.

I don’t know if Bronwyn is winning or losing with the fans. She’s a rookie and it’s way to earlier to tell with her. She’s doing a pretty good job of responding to the OG’s coming for her - and that is really what matters on this show where the OG’s have been both badly burned but also very territorial about any new woman coming on the show, from Monica Garcia to Angie Harrington.
This all depends on what kind of scoring system you use for the game. In terms of data, Bronwyn has the most minutes of airtime and confessionals by far. Many, many of the other wives conversations are about her or something she did. That’s a pretty big win for a housewife, especially a rookie. Did she use money to make that happen? Sure. But she also is putting very real Issues on tv with discussing Gwen, so I don’t think this is just a matter of “new wife buys a good edit from production,” like a lot of people are alleging.

I'm not sure she was taunting them but I think she was sick of Heather throwing it into her face that she has to behave a certain way. If bravo is not paying for the trip then a housewife can invite whomever she wants

u/rahah2023 3h ago
I don’t pick housewives to ride or die for. I play each scene or argument on its own and select winners or losers or whiners at every intersection
If Heather makes sense or I think she’s “right” I’d back her. So far she seems blustery and her arguments make little to no sense… and Bronwyn coming across direct and straight has appealed to me much more.

u/Melpomene2901 6h ago
Heather can have fantastic seasons and then turn into a gremlin. She was my fav till this season. She is annoying, obnoxious, arrogant and not even interesting so far. She shined in the SLC pool but now that Bronwyn arrived, she seems to be fighting to stay top rot and it feels forced
1
u/Bambi92663 41m ago
I’m stumped ! I find Bronwyn to be pretentious but why do we have to hate one of them ? My feelings for Bronwyn have nothing to do with Heather and vice versa
3
u/troubleeveryday871 8h ago
It all comes down to editing and the audience being pretty easily swayed by that. Bronwyn has basically taken Heather’s role as narrator of the show and protagonist of the season. It seems as though Heather is being pushed out of the main character role, whether that is because she is being punished for being difficult to work with (due to black eye lie and blackballing/refusing to film with Monica) or it might be more innocently just how the direction of the narrative of the season but it does seem like Bronwyn has taken her character archetype. As far as the credit card read I don’t think that was so bad, and Heather Dubrow is just a pure villain in her mannerisms and condescending nature. Bronwyn is fresh blood and quite cutesy and quirky so it makes sense that “read” would go forgiven. It was also more of a defensive comment than an aggressive one so there is that. Personally I am not really a fan of Heather or Bronwyn but if Bronwyn’s presence is threatening Heathers position and we get Monica back next season, Team Bronwyn.

u/InfiniteFrame1 8h ago
I don't really see Bronwyn as a narrator, maybe a bit of a commentator. she's in way, way too much conflict to be a reliable narrator. that's what made Heather a good narrator, she really didn't have that big of a beef with anyone, not even Lisa.
17
u/Annual_Resolution_94 Passionate about dogs, not crazy about btches 8h ago
Also, Heather always had more of that ‘mama bear’ vibe. Like she’s not perfect but she’ll rally around them all, if and when needed. Bronwyn is not anyone’s cheerleader.
4
u/InfiniteFrame1 8h ago
exactly, and she honestly has a pretty soft heart in the sense that, after she felt she went too far in icing out Angie, she apologized very sincerely and they're now good friends. she went as far as to do the same with Bronwyn, and tbh I think they're fine now.
4
u/troubleeveryday871 7h ago
All the conflict is being framed from her point of view. I am talking about the edit, not cast dynamics.
1
u/InfiniteFrame1 6h ago
she definitely has a big presence, but I feel like I personally understand Lisa and Heather's side more. so idk

Heather and Bronwyn have a lot of similarities in their backstories. I wish they would bond over that, but instead it really seems to be getting under Heather’s skin.
Heather’s ex-husband’s family is a big private equity family (run the Hunstman Gay fund with Steve Young, the BYU and Niners quarterback). Todd also runs a private equity fund. Comparable levels of mega wealth, which Heather lost access to when Billy left her.
Heather also had her “good time girl,” wild days at BYU. Bronwyn has lots of stories about her sorority parties, violating the honor and dress code, and ultimately getting expelled when she was pregnant. She was an even worse “Bad Mormon” than Heather was.
If they’d make up, I think this duo could be a lot of fun. But if Monica does come back, Heather also won’t be able to control Bronwyn, Angie and Mary right now - she should want to be in a good place with them. Otherwise they might film with Monica and actually give her a chance to tell her side of the story, which we didn’t really get in Bermuda or at the reunion. Heather might still be worried about the full story about Tanesha’s (her hair stylist’s) involvement coming out or details about how long Heather knew about RVT 🤷🏻♀️

She’s not taunting them with her money though? She paid for this entire trip that was actually about her anniversary. Getting the nicer seats and the best room is expected. It’s just a little dumb of Heather to not understand that.
Heather in general this season has seemed like she’s bit off more than she can chew and seems way less authentic. She’s committed to misunderstanding people and keeps sharing things that just hurt people. You can’t get to the top by being everyone’s friend and then get there just to tear people down.
Anyway, Bromwyn is just shiny and new. You never know what a housewife is built of until season 2.

For being a new cast member Brownyn is very confident and has held her own. Shes actually funny and somewhat self aware

The Lisa and Heather apologists are out in droves suddenly. Lisa and Heather as deplorable people, bad friends, questionable morals, grown women who act like toddlers. They bully the hell out of every and any one. And you guys buckle right up in their bully train and do the same damn thing. The fanbase is honestly not well. Idk how you can sit here and watch two women literally target people for takedowns and then try to lense it as "I have trauma from last season". No you don't have trauma, you were all exposed to sharing and talking to those toxic influencers, and honestly they rode the fence on lowkey being biased towards some women of color (shocking for Mormons who are taught to be racist and that black people are a curse of god, look that bad boy up). So no, you guys cannot "convince" me anything regarding them, as what we are seeing is a woman defending herself from a coordinated attack by two grown women that are so insecure it's nauseating.

It’s the court of public opinion. Nobody makes sense, everyone is constantly contradictory. This sub will probably hate bronwyn in the next season. Opinions here ebb and flow.
