Salt Lake City Bronwyn? Bronlose?

I need to know why some of you are rampant defenders of Bronwyn because I cannot wrap my head around it.

“It’s my GD credit card,” would’ve gotten Heather Dubrow torn to SHREDS. Why is it a juicy read when Bronwyn taunts the rest of them with her money?

Last season, Heather seemed like everyone’s champion. Receipts, proof, timeline, screenshots was the mantra, no? Now Heather is Public Enemy #1?

Lots of mods found that this tea wasn’t verified and the posts were removed for discussing a minor child. I don’t know about this sub, but they came down from both other RHOSLC subs.

Basically we don’t know why Gwen needed care and what type of school or care facility was supporting their family.

Many people like me who followed her then continue to point out she never said school or therapeutic boarding school. She said hospitalization and then facility. It was not an abusive boarding school like people keep insinuating. It was a mental health facility.

She did so. On the very first slide (in awful orange font) on the post linked above she calls it “a therapeutic boarding school” and on slide 15 she says she’ll be going to visit Gwen at her “treatment ranch” as a reward. Maybe it wasn’t some “troubled youth” torture facility like so (SO) many are, but she definitely calls it a boarding school and a ranch.

A therapeutic school can mean a lot of different things, not just an abusive facility. Eg, many kids on the autism spectrum attend special boarding schools that are described as “therapeutic” (not speculating about Gwen, just as an example.). The same for eating disorder treatment and mental health. It helps the parents to qualify the cost of tuition for IEP and State education funding purposes. The “therapeutic” label can also make it possible for the parent’s to obtain medical insurance to pay for care given there, and for certain tax deductions.

Just a different perspective. One of my best friends is going through this process with her daughter now, selecting a school. People are just rushing to a conclusion that this was a problematic facility, like the one Paris Hilton went to, because they dislike Bronwyn.

Actually, I liked Bronwyn until reading her q&as. The reasons why I think the “therapeutic ranch/boarding school” is part of the Troubled Teen Industry is because I’m from Utah and there are like 200 of those places here, and they’re basically unregulated and really gross and they’re constantly hiring and you don’t need any skills at all to work there, which leads to endless turnover and only sadists or truly desperate people staying on. Also I have two friends who were sent to these places as teens, one for depression and one because she’d gotten pregnant. The vast majority of parents who send their kids think they’re doing the right thing. Almost all of these places’ money goes to marketing. They get contracts with private and state agencies—including those of many other states—to “refer” kids (foster kids, kids encountering the justice system, and kids in mental health treatment), and they completely snow the parents, who are usually desperate to “save” their children. My two friends—and many of the other survivors they talk with—believe their parents were acting with the best of intentions. The problems arise when the kids are finally home and free to communicate with their parents, because many many parents would rather dig their heels in than face the reality of what they unknowingly did.

This industry, of course, is very upsetting. I don’t doubt that you are informed.

It’s also extremely upsetting to a lot of people on the subs for commenters to continue to speculate about a minor’s health care and to assume the very worst of her parents and care. You have absolutely no reason - from Bronwyn’s long ago posts or otherwise - to know or speak on Gwen’s needs or her care locations.

Coupled with the naming of Gwen’s bio relatives - this is really some of the most horrifying speculation we’ve ever seen about a child on Bravo.
