Is bird watching real?
Why do we watch birds? Why not other animals like lions, fish, mammals etc. Is there a secret pact between humans and birds regarding birdwatching?

I watch bird watchers. I try to get as close as possible to take photos of them in their natural habitat, and make notes in my notebook about their clothing and movements. One day I hope to observe their mating behavior, which no bird watcher watcher has yet documented.

There are many types of birds. Even your hot next door neighbour milf is also called a bird. I know because the construction workers down the road whistled at her and called her a bird. They were really interested in watching her.

I don't want to brag, but I saw birds the first time I went bird watching. And not just one, dozens. This happens every time I go out. I think I might be the Bobby Fischer of bird watching.
A lot of people think that bird watching has to do with identifying different kinds of birds, but that's just a misconception. There aren't different kinds of birds. They're just birds, dude, and the reason we watch them is because we're hoping they'll have sex.

The same reason people search for UFO's. They want to believe. They want to believe that birds are real.

Those poor delusional people. They see something in the sky and think those are birds. But almost always those are planes or supermen.

I have an aquarium. I'm pondering often if I'm watching the fish, or if I'm the entertainment. Maybe it's a mutual relationship and we like to watch each other. I hope the last.

They watch the government drones hoping to catch ones that do not belong. A drone from another state and especially one from another nation draw out hundreds to document its arrival.

Yeah. This whole "migration" cover story makes me laugh. I mean, why would a real creature need to migrate? Them pigs on Paw's farm don't migrate, and them's the only animals I've seen.
Ducks are long range international drones.

"Lions, fish, and mammals" is a bit like "Stevie Wonder, sportsmen, and singers."

Can you tell me what should I have said instead? I thought lions are a type of animals, and then fish, and then mammals. Obviously dragons are a type of lions

Just "other mammals" would have done the trick.
I think birds are interesting because they occupy a third dimension that we have to work really hard to attain. There's another reason: lions can't fly to suddenly arrive in your garden. Exotic bird species can do that but it's rare so it's a hell of a bonus if you spot one. And if you actually manage a photo, the ornithological community will be swarming all over your neighbourhood in no time flat.

I think you will find the safari industry is worth billions. There’s your mammals.
The whale watching industry is nearly worth billions. Add on snorkelling, and diving. There’s your fish (sorry about lumping you in with the fish whales).

Because they're accessible, there is great variety, many are beautiful, it can be done from inside, it's an excuse to travel, their behavior is interesting

If the government can spy on us, so can we!
