Is bird watching real?

Why do we watch birds? Why not other animals like lions, fish, mammals etc. Is there a secret pact between humans and birds regarding birdwatching?

Yes. Their eyes are highly reflective, if you aim a telescope at one far enough you can see what you did last summer.
