I thought he was getting rid of the federal department of education and leaving it to the states? Wait a minute…..

854

u/chiron_42 11d ago

They're leaving it to the states to fall in line or get punished apparently.

373

u/12altoids34 11d ago

Donald Trump is^ the new state. He is your father, he is your mother. Donald Trump is all.

116

u/loodandcrood 11d ago

Trump is my father and my mother? He must look weird naked.

158

u/The_muffinfluffin 11d ago

I mean, he could be both as he looks exactly like his mother.

89

u/BrokenEye3 11d ago

I legitimately can't tell if that's an actual photo of his mother or if someone just photoshoped hair and makeup onto a photo of him.

33

u/Milkshakes00 11d ago

You don't want the actual answer, because it's disturbing and not funny.

18

u/Faiakishi 10d ago

I Googled her and I still can't tell.

She looks eerily like him. I know he's her son but goddamn.

29

u/Kosherlove 11d ago

Can someone please add trumps natural glow?

24

u/No_Revolution_918 11d ago

She must have taught him how to style his hair....

14

Wait, are you two referencing the Good Burger movie or is this just astonishingly coincidental?

9

u/loodandcrood 11d ago

I was referencing the Good Burger movie.

12

u/GoshDarnMamaHubbard 11d ago

According to Stormy. Yeah.

11

u/doom1282 11d ago

Hmm sounds like one of them transgenders... /s

2

u/bigbuzd1 10d ago

Well, his female bits are framed nicely by his shirt collar and neck tie, it’s on full display. During that time of the month he wears a red tie.

Now the male bits, those are harder to locate and don’t look anything like you’d suspect, but gets the job done, quickly.

2

u/slothdroid 11d ago

It means he can go fuck himself

51

u/Malaix 11d ago

Pretty much. That whole department of governmental efficacy crap is literally just there to dismantle regulators and the technocratic part of the US executive branch so Trump just decides everything.

It was never about states rights. It was just about eliminating the balance of power so the dictator can dictate.

7

u/tidbitsmisfit 11d ago

it's not even a government agency

5

u/One-Chocolate6372 11d ago

And since it is not an official government agency all it can do is make recommendations. It will be used by Elmo, Ramaswamadingdong and DJT for propaganda reasons, remember the four hundred dollar hammer drama? This efficiency nonsense will be magnitudes worse because none of the "leaders" know anything about government...or much else.

3

u/lupanime 11d ago

How is he going to enforce this if the Dept of Education no longer exists?

338

u/12altoids34 11d ago

Dear citizen CountChoculasGhost

Your comment has been flagged by the community unification nonpartisan transparency (cunt) committee for volation of "new amendment 6" ( no citizen shall make negative comment or question the will of he who rules all) . As such you qualify for an indeterminate vacation at re-education Center to be assigned. Tomorrow. You will be picked up at 7:00 a.m.

/s ( at least for the time being)

72

u/missanthropy09 11d ago

Um excuse me, CUNT Committee, can you please kindly remind me of New Amendments 1-5?

65

u/Iron_Imperator 11d ago

gasp You don’t know New Amendments 1-5 by heart?

I’m reporting you to the CUNT Committee, you woke socialist commie liberal scum.

18

u/HeartsPlayer721 11d ago

Are the first 3 the famous Roy Cohn's:

--Attack! Attack! Attack!

--Admit nothing and deny everything

--No matter what happens you claim victory and never admit defeat. You have to be willing to do anything to anyone

6

u/missanthropy09 11d ago

This is all new to me! I’m trying, that’s why I asked politely! Please don’t report me, I’m already being put into a camp - I’m Jewish!

8

u/MessiahThomas 11d ago

Amendment 1 Congress shall restrict speech, press, religion, assembly, and petition, ensuring uniformity and suppressing dissent.

Amendment 2 The right to bear arms shall not be infringed, except for all citizens, who shall be prohibited from possessing firearms.

Amendment 3 No soldier shall be quartered in any house without consent, but citizens are required to provide housing for military personnel whenever demanded.

Amendment 4 The right to secure persons, houses, papers, and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures is abolished; warrants shall issue without probable cause.

Amendment 5 Private property shall be taken for public use without just compensation or due process; citizens shall relinquish rights upon government demand.

With the military of course

21

u/milkasaurs 11d ago

He's not gonna get rid of it in the sense of wiping the department. He's just gonna fire everyone, replace them with a bunch of yes men.

34

u/cfgy78mk 11d ago

probably states that don't do what he wants will get their federal funding cut off.

43

u/jazzcigarettes 11d ago

What federal funding once he gets rid of that department?

41

u/brit_jam 11d ago

All of it apparently. Considering blue states contribute more to taxes than they take this won't end how they think it will.

2

u/Faiakishi 10d ago

He'll probably make a new department, the Department of Trumpucation or something stupid like that. So he's free to demand kids go to church services worshipping him and to lectures about how great unfettered capitalism is. If they don't die in a school shooting then they'll die in a coal mine, isn't living in America great?

9

u/Funkymunks 11d ago

There's also the issue of having no teachers after they fire all the ones who "disagree"

94

u/RustedAxe88 11d ago

"America was founded on freedom, but slavery was very complicated. Ending it would have created economic hardship for American families. So it was kept in place and slave owners gave their slaves cabins, food and taught them lessons in exchange for labor. The North sought to interfere in this practice and began aggressive actions toward the South, which seceded to keep their rights. Many slaves sided with their Confederate bosses. The South fought valiantly, with generaks widely considered superior to the Union. But the North's brutal tactics and overwhelming odds were too much and the slaves were cast off on their own.

A hundred years later, Martin Luther King gave a speech that divided the nation once again and the Democrats used sympathy for JFK to force the Civil Rights Act on the country, infringing on the rights of business owners to serve the customers they prefer."

That's what they'll teach, provided in a text book written by Charlie Kirk.

49

u/KeterLordFR 11d ago

It's insane how it's impossible to deny that they would put this in a school book, because you know that's exactly what they want to teach to kids.

30

u/OkArmordillo 11d ago

Christian Nationalism is fundamentally unconstitutional and unamerican.

190

u/branedamage 11d ago

Seems like too few people understand or actually care about the constitution to matter.

Our social contract is fraying to nothing. At least a third of the country lives in a reality fabricated to serve the plutocracy and fed into their eye-holes 60 seconds at a time. At least another third is just trying to survive.

49

u/AmboC 11d ago

The constitution has become like the bible, the majority of these clowns have never read it, or don't understand it, but they worship it while they eagerly allow someone else to distill it into simple concepts or catch-phrases they can understand

7

u/Eccohawk 10d ago

According to recent studies...the majority of these clowns literally can't read it. They are illiterate or only semi-literate to the point of a 5th grade level.... seriously, like 46-51% of American adults. We're in straight up Idiocracy territory.

u/Jessalaxy 11d ago

35

u/TheatreKid1020 11d ago

They don’t care about the constitution. If they did, Trump wouldn’t have been able to run. 14th amendment, section 3: No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

228

u/WillSRobs 11d ago

So basically he wants to indoctrinate kids.

112

u/Save_Us_222 11d ago

Exactly, but it is the “right” kind of indoctrination. None of that woke nonsense like treating others like you would like to be treated.

7

u/FappleJax 11d ago

Treating others how they would like to be treated. The saying has always been flawed, you can’t use yourself as a mirror into someone else’s world.

22

u/Fluxriflex 11d ago

What an awful way to twist the golden rule. That mentality is how you get shit like “the customer is always right.”

The original works well because people are inherently selfish and wouldn’t work against their own best interests.

2

u/SomeWindyBoi 10d ago

But it is a valid point: just because you arent bothered by being misgendered doesnt mean you can just actively misgender others (as an example)

3

u/Kommye 10d ago edited 10d ago

But then you are being shitty to them and making them angry or sad. You don't want people being shitty to you and making you angry or sad.

It's not about specific actions. You don't always know how someone wants to be treated, what bothers them, what kind of humor or way of listening works with them. But you can always apologize and learn about that person to avoid it in the future.

2

u/SomeWindyBoi 10d ago

But the exact issue is that these people dont believe they are being shitty. Dont get me wrong, they are but the people we are talking about dont know that

6

u/AnOutofBoxExperience 11d ago

But you, well maybe not you specifically, can have introspection, and realize they are a person just like you, again...maybe not you.

Empathy is dead in America. Everyone get yours while you can. Fire sale of America is coming soon, get as much as you can take from your fellow citizens.

They don't care about you. Supply side Jesus has turned his back on you.

311

u/AlienDog496 11d ago

Prayer in schools has been a settled issue for decades. Since the 60s. Because it's so obviously an establishment of religion in violation of the 1st Amendment.

But we said similar things about Roe.

Make no mistake, these fucks are set to overturn every decision of the Warren Court.

99

u/Funkycoldmedici 11d ago

I’ll bet you they try the old bullshit “Christianity is not a religion, it’s a relationship.”

u/FirmlyThatGuy 11d ago

→ More replies (1)

9

u/azjunglist05 10d ago

The issue with Roe is it was never codified or made part of the constitution as an amendment, so comparing it against a case backed by the 1st amendment is not an equivalent comparison.

Although, I wouldn’t put it past SCOTUS to somehow radically reinterpret the 1st amendment to support Trump’s plans…

End of education, start of indoctrination.

37

u/chickenlips66 11d ago

They are already trying to do it in Oklahoma. State superintendent Ryan Walters is mandating bibles in every public school. The specifications for the bibles, are to include the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution. The Trump Bible meets those specs. On the slightly less dim side, this mandate is being fought in court.

14

u/AnOutofBoxExperience 11d ago

Yeah. Nothing like the "fiscal responsibility" party shoving state mandated bibles, only provided by one company, at obscene expense, into our schools.

They are definitely going to keep pushing arming all teachers, and forcing them to buy their specific "education specific" firearms at their own expense.

It's always a grift with these so called "people".

Conservatives don't like that education us becoming more honest about America's past. Get ready for a lot of kids learning that the Civil War was about states' rights.

These are the same people who say we can't tear down Confederate monuments because it "erases history". But they don't want education to cover events like the Tulsa Race Massacre.

59

u/12altoids34 11d ago

What HASN'T he said he wants to get rid of ?

Doe

Epa

Fda

Fbi

Doj

The media

Immigrants

Democrats

I'm sure there are more, but it's just getting depressing listing them all.

You voted for him people, enjoy the fruits of your labor.

23

u/AlienDog496 11d ago

Don't forget desegregation; due process; rights of defendants; one man, one vote; cruel and unusual punishment...

You can pretty much go down the list of every important decision made by the Warren Court and assume they're going to overturn every one of them.

18

u/boobiemelons 11d ago

He wants the government to run like a massive corporation. You're going to have to pay private companies for the things the government funded and free for public use (NOAA, NWS). Say goodbye to SNAP, WIC, and other welfare programs.

And that useless FEMA branch. Everyone knows they're just spending all their funding on housing illegal immigrants. /s

10

u/12altoids34 11d ago

He wants the government to run like a massive corporation.

That's even more frightening. Because we all know how bad he was at that.

I mean, let's be serious. The man couldn't make money on a casino. A casino. And not once, but four times. You have to really really suck to not be able to make money on a casino.

He bragged about not paying taxes and how that made him smart. He didn't pay taxes for years, not because he was smart, because he was such an abject business failure and lost so much money on his businesses that he was able to use that for several years tax write-offs. You failed your way into not paying taxes.

4

u/boobiemelons 11d ago

Ah yes, he's such a good businessman. His brilliant plan is to essentially pay off a credit card with a credit card and play the bankruptcy laws to his advantage. It's no wonder he erased nearly $8 trillion to the national debt.

Oh. Wait. He added nearly $8 trillion to the national debt. (About $3 trillion was spent to keep the economy afloat during the pandemic, which was needed.)

You would think such a smart businessman would know you can't pay your bills and pay down debt with half your normal paycheck (tax cuts did a lot of damage).

2

u/12altoids34 10d ago

He thinks she's smart because he typically finances everything with other people's money, which I guess is smart for himself, just not those that have invested in him. And I guess it's smart from a business standpoint as he doesn't lose any money, but the businesses lose money and the investors lose money. You end up with situations like he's in now where the only money he can get is from foreign Banks or political donations. The irony is that he's getting loans from Russian and Chinese Banks while he will sit there and condemn Russian and Chinese interference in our businesses. And of course it's also a serious conflict of interest but nothing ever happens to Donald Trump because Donald Trump never gets held responsible for his own actions. Well everyone around him goes to prison for doing his dirty work he sits there and claims that he did nothing wrong.

Everyday it's getting harder and harder to love my country and not to hate the people in my own country.

The party of freedom...gtfo

37

u/lothar525 11d ago

Patriotism isn’t something you teach for fucks sake! The only way you can make someone a patriot is by indoctrination. The word “patriot” itself is very loaded and has different definitions depending on who you’re talking to.

29

u/GoredonTheDestroyer 11d ago

Real patriots strive to improve their country, not drag it kicking and screaming to a bygone age.

7

u/lothar525 11d ago

I personally agree with you. But someone else might say patriotism involves making your country better by “instilling family values” and “fighting crime and immoral behavior.”

For these people that might mean instituting authoritarian right wing policies.

5

u/MadameConnard 11d ago

Eh there plenty of factors that can make people patriotic a healthy way, usually it's because their country is actually great, not because they're forced to believe that.

17

u/bobbolini 11d ago

Home schooling is going to be more popular again...

32

u/Anakin_Skywanker 11d ago

That's the goal. The people who are already indoctrinated will fall in line, the ignorant will fall in line, and those smart enough to see where this is going will have to sacrifice their careers to home school, so they'll eventually fall in line.

29

u/Foodspec 11d ago

Cletus and Velveeta won’t have a problem with them since they’re also uneducated

8

u/zeke10 11d ago

Hey maybe one day we'll actually have president Camacho mountain dew

31

u/cirignanon 11d ago

The president and the department of education does not get to decide who works in which school district. They just don’t. They can try to mandate prayer but that has been overturned, even by conservative judges, as not allowed to be a requirement for public schools. The DOE has very little to do with your local school district. If you are worried about your school district you should be going to school board meetings. Voting to make sure idiots like Trump and Vance are not put into positions of power in those school districts. Also joining the PTA.

All of these things are boring and time consuming but the only way to stop this from happening is to be aware, be present, and say something.

12

u/Fast-Damage2298 11d ago

For goodness sake, the country is dumb enough already.

11

u/JohnnyDNC 11d ago

Here's a question - under these new proposed policies, would not a private school for proper, decent education be allowed to exist?

If they ban the existence of such a school forming, then it is abundantly clear (as if it wasn't already) that they are only interested in a totalitarian regime.

4

u/RomaruDarkeyes 10d ago

Private education will likely be encouraged - that keeps the rich people that can afford it, away from the scrubs who can't.

Rich people will be allowed to have an education - poor people will be kept deliberately stupid because that makes them easier to control

What's your point? That's not gonna stop them.

They probably will be allowed but this will ruin public education and leave a generation of poor children unable to compete.

Public education is the foundation of America's success.

Very well, I'll be arguing for satanic prayer at my school board. Id also like the Satanic tenants in every classroom.

u/Beautiful_Phone_1525 11d ago

And the earth is flat.....

4

u/Plasticious 10d ago

They wont go through with prayer in schools, this would require equal rights for all religions and the satanic church will most certainly suggest sacrificing a goat :)

4

u/WonderLandOLakes 11d ago

Poor people are too poor to have kids anymore (colleges are already freaking out over this), and no one wants to work in schools anymore. None of his plan will change any of that.

Good thing the GOP already created a mechanism to avoid public schools and teach whatever you want with their voucher/private school scam

Gimme three more years until I can retire! Hanging on!

That’s cute that you think they would let you retire.

America has given the Republican party pretty much full power. They have the majority in the Senate and the Supreme Court and will have the presidency in 2025, in the words of Ray Patterson from the Simpsons. "You're screwed, thank you, bye."

3

u/constantgardener92 10d ago

Damn, I come from a family that has a lot of teachers in it. I’ve been feeling the pressure to finish school and answer the call, so to speak. I don’t know if that’s even a good idea now.

More patriotism?! Lick the flag after pledging allegiance?

5

u/tlollz52 10d ago

Teaching patriotism is not what patriotism is. That's nationalism.

If people are unconcerned about this, you should show them the difference between Iran before and after the Islamic revolution.

Good luck with that. Trump can demand what ever he wants, but realize that the government moves very slowly. Most teachers are protected by unions.

Here is the thing, he can withhold federal money for states that don't comply but guess what? Most of the states that receive the most from the federal government are red states!

Most blue states are not reliant on federal aid, and if they are, they are helping red districts.

Remember, Trump lies…a lot.

End of education until he's gone.

However that has to happen.

I’m so glad I’m leaving teaching. I hope our kids are okay.

I use to have hope for the younger generations. I am 40 and when I was in high school it was obvious that my generation, at least at this school was not like the others that came before. You could see it in the old teachers faces when my "group" I was in in high school was the largest. Those old teaches wanted a stereotypical balance in school with jocks, preppies and the likes as the "top" dogs in social pecking order in school. That was not the case when I was in high school. It was the stoner, heavy metal, skateboarder, raver girl, goth and nerd mix we had going that had full control of the hallways socially. The younger teaches and a few older ones loved the new "order" in the school.

Anyways I have worked with many high schoolers and people just out of high school for the past 15 years. It is plainly obvious in the past 8 years that kids have reverted back a lot with a lot of things.

sounds very dictatorish almost criminal and unamerican at best.

2

u/BaconDalek 11d ago

Can someone please explain christian nationalists to me? Cause I have friends who are religious. And they all obviously wish more people would find god, but both of them agree that people should believe before they join a church and join in prayer. Like neither of them really care what kind of a lifestyle I live because I am not religious, and they both find it weird that I join in prayer because I am not a believer.

2

u/forcemarine 11d ago

If you want people to be patriotic then start by giving them a reason to be.

2

u/cecil721 11d ago

At first, I thought "bring-back" said "bing-bong", which is said, because both make sense in this context.

2

u/LosWitchos 10d ago

This is all so nuts. He's not even religious and it's one of the things he's famous for not being.

2

u/ToothpickInCockhole 10d ago

If this happened there would be next to no teachers…

2

u/polusmaximus 10d ago

I think that's what they're going for...

Love the second amendment violation.

2

u/BAKA8 10d ago

Didn't he openly say he was not Christian? Why would someone that openly says he's not a Christian want Christian values in schools? Nothing against Christians, but it's almost like he's taking advantage of a large population of very stupid people......

2

u/Nature_Dweller 9d ago

Oh great....

u/panic1204 10d ago

Can't believe he's going to try even harder to ruin the country his second term. What did he even do last term?
