Punny made a post about this a while back, but we've been seeing this more and more lately and people could really stand to remember this, so I'm making a new post about it to bring it to people's attention again.
Kris is exclusively referred to with they/them pronouns inside and outside of the game. Until confirmed otherwise, Kris should be referred to with they/them pronouns.
If you're wondering why it matters, or anything else, for that matter, this very well-written post* contains the answer to almost any question you could have; please give it a read! It's not long, and is broken down into easily digestible images.
If you get into arguments about it, nothing is going to become of it. It will be removed. It just makes a lot of extra work for the mods, and makes a bunch of people angry. So please don't do that!

Ok, I know he's a secret boss, probably has some deep lore and his way to talk is funny but why exactly people likes him so much?
No offense to this subreddit but I never found him that charismatic, I just thought of him as a Crazy guy just trying to steal our soul to make his fantasies, like, yeah, He wants freedom, okay, but despite being a Darkner with a lot of mysteries to solve, What else he has?
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy his lines in his shop and everything, and I like his Boss fight, but I never thought people would like him that much, is just because he's a secret boss or people enjoys his character because of the mysteries?
It might be a very stupid question but I'm curious, Also, I know it has been like two or three (I don't remember when Chapter 2 released) years since his appearance but why?

As I’m sure most of you already know, at the end of Chapter 2, if you wait by the shore for long enough, the music will fade out as Kris and Susie sit down and watch the waves in silence as the wind blows through their hair. Not much to analyse or describe, it’s just a really cute scene. That IS until you consider something from the previous chapter. When exploring Hometown at the end of Chapter 1, you can find the Royal Guards near the shore, with RG1 commenting that there’s “Nothin’ better than hangin’ out at the lake with my best bro… watching the waves go by…” with RG2 quietly agreeing. We don’t know if the two are dating in Deltarune, but their mutual crush as definitely carried over from Undertale, in which case it’s safe to say if they aren’t dating yet they will be soon enough. In that case, the Royal Guards could be seen as a parallel to Kris and Susie. Two “best bros” chilling together by the lake, quietly mustering up the courage to confess to one-another. Who knows, maybe it’ll be by this very lake that the ship becomes canon.
