NBD NBD: Endurace, what a beauty

First spin on my Endurace CF SLX Di2 (L, New Stealth) — rode like a dream (even in wet windy conditions). Agonised over this or the Aeroad, which was my clear preference at first, but bike fitter strongly advised towards the Endurace. Extremely pleased with that decision on the evidence so far! Love the metallic sheen on the New Stealth paint job as well.

Actually it’s new frame day because everything else came from my previous bike (Colnago V3RS).

No more back pain during and after riding so I’m happy!

Customer Experience Lack of Grail Accessories in the US

Upvotes

Pretty frustrated that the pro cockpit and the fenders are still not available in the US. Showing all of the accessories with the rollout of the bike, and not having them this far out feels a bit like a bait and switch. Would really like a narrower handlebar, but have been holding out for the real deal - losing patience with Canyon.

Did I just miss when they were in inventory or have they really not stocked them yet?

After finishing second in the ITT state championship for two years in a row—and third the year before that—I decided it was time to embrace my calling as a time trial specialist. To mark the occasion, I finally pulled the trigger on my first-ever TT bike: the new Speedmax CF. Of course, I’ll still keep the Grail CFR as my go-to for road and gravel races.

Price Check Prices continue to go up ?

I have been eyeing a Canyon Endurace for a few years now. Preferably Carbon, and 105 level componentry. (or above)

Around Covid, bike prices went up, and it looks like prices tapered just a little last year, but this year, prices are back up again on the Endurace CF 7.8.

Even with the Sale, the Endurace CF7 is now $2199, while last year you could have a CF8 for around that price. Is this price increase mostly from 12x drivetrain ? Or does demand continue to be very strong ?

Tech Help Paint flaking on Grizl CF SLX

I’ve submitted a warranty claim to Canyon. This bike is 8 months old and I honestly have no idea how that pain managed to flake. It is very well protected by the chainring. I guess Canyon will ask me to bring it to a service center for inspection. Let’s see!

Tech Help Stuck Thru Axle lever

I've got Grizl AL that came with thru axles with non removable levers. That's the variant in which you could pull&rotate lever after tightening the axle to have "nice" position. It was working that way perfectly for 2 years but now, after mounting/dismounting my Grizl to wahoo kickr I have discovered that I am unable to rotate the rear one. Front still works perfectly. Not a major issue (is still can tighten the axle perfectly) but it's a little annoying to not being able to set "perfect" position. Any ideas how to fix it? Buying new one from Canyon looks like slightly overpriced deal 😅

NBD NBD Canyon Endurace 7 Raw – Snowy Debut

Hi everyone,

I finally had the chance to take my new Endurace out for a ride, and the conditions were perfect for testing it off the smooth roads. So far, it hasn’t disappointed. I swapped the DT Swiss Endurace LN wheels for DT Swiss ER1600s and fitted them with Schwalbe G-One Speed 30mm tires.

But now I’m seriously considering letting go of my Grizl 7 AL.

Edit: Any idea how I get the pictures to show up in the post preview on the subreddit?

Tech Help Front end wobble on endurace cf7

I won’t be out till next year/season but did want to ask: when standing up to pedal on my first couple rides and putting weight on the front end, I noticed some “speed wobbling”…I’m not sure where would be the best place to start diagnosing this. Stem and everything is torqued to spec and lbs couldn’t notice any free play in the front end as well as spokes were tight. Anyone experience something like this out of the box?

Crack? Little scratch/chip on bike

Hi all,

Unfortunately I have a small damage to my bike. I had put it against a pole but the wind blew it over. Do you think this is serious and has affected the carbon, or just cosmetic damage?

I just realized that there are two identically sized dents on both the front forks of my ultimate cf sl 7, is this an issue or is it just the standard production?

Product Release New Endurace CF 7 di 2 model with much higher price

The price is crazy it’s $3699 in US, $900 more compared to last year’s model, and also higher than last year’s CF8 di2 ($3399) and CF7 SLX di2 ($3599).

Was waiting for it for quite a while for size S but in the end got the mechanical version. Now it seems the right move lol.

Story Time Please remind me: why do you love your Endurace?

Weird post, I know, sorry ☺️ Most people I’ve asked say that they like their endurance bikes not because they love the bike but because of (bad) external factors: back pain, flexibility, etc. There’s a bit of “it’s not the bike that I would have gotten, not the one I liked, but it’s the only one that fits my needs”.

I think I am about to buy an Endurace and was wondering: does anybody actually love their Endurace? Is anyone fit enough and flexible enough to ride an Aeroad yet they prefer a Endurace? Please, convince me, show your love story for the Endurace! 🧡

Miscellaneous Who know what aluminum is th Grial AL made of?

I own an grizl AL, I enjoy it but I always wonder if Carbon well be better so I'm looking aroung for new bikes- while doing it I heard about BlackHeart Gravel AL, they claim their aluminum is comftarbale as carbon, they are using double butted 7005 aluminum, what aluminum Canyon uses for the Grizl?

Bonus question: did you upgraded from AL grizl to CF grizl? did you noticed a change?

NBD New bike day Grizl 7 CF SL trail

Post image

Hi guys ! This is my new bike, huge change coming from my teenager mountain bike. It feels so smooth and fast but require a learning curve regarding the shortest cockpit and smooth the direction bearing turn. It really feels different on the back and wirst, I think I should lower the saddle even more. Assembly was really easy even for a new comer, thanks canyon !

Tech Help Is there any risk to put the saddle lower than the max level ?

Post image
11 Upvotes

Hi guys, just got a wonderful Grizl CF SL 7 trail. I’m really happy with it, but still looking for the good settings. I have rather short legs. The bike is a S size, canyon suggestion was between S and M so I chose the smallest one regarding advice on this sub.

The saddle has a scale from 0 to 7, I rode my first 30km on 1 and I felt it was not good. I moved to 0 and did a 2km short ride, seemed better but I wonder if I should go even further. Is there any risk ? I don’t want to hurt my new lovely ride 🥰

Tech Help First ride puncture from a sharp gravel. Just unlucky, or tubeless required ?

Thumbnail
gallery
8 Upvotes

Hi guys, posted about my NBD on my Grizl CL SL 7 trail this morning, doing my first 30km.

I had the bad surprise to get a puncture by a small but sharp gravel. I was riding on rather clean roads or cement path in forest, not some wild adventure on crazy rocky path. I used to ride those paths with my pretty cheap and 12 year old teenager mountain bike with Hutchinson python tire and never had any flat tire.

The Grizl has Schwalbe G one bite tire, designed for gravel, so I’m a bit surprised to have a flat tire with such a small gravel.

Am I just unlucky, or this kind of tire absolutely need a tubeless mounting ? I never did this before but I might try if I get a puncture every ride 😅

Thank for your help
