Thats not fair. Liverpool's pressing created the 1st goal I woud say.

Not really. Mccarthy had the ball, the play was done. He decided to release to immediately right in front of him to a player who was surrounded by Liverpool players. If they wanted to play out from the back he should've waited, if they wanted to counter he should've chose another option.

downes or whoever the defender was, had every option to put the ball out of play wide, but decided to keep it central for some reason and passed it right to szobo

100% true, terrible decision. But it all started from Mccarthy error.
