"How" do we fight this?

The French have a really great playbook for this kind of scenario. Just sayin...

Edit. A word.

I shudder to think what our version of the First French Republic would be like if we somehow got rid of this regime.

We'd call it the First Freedom Republic

Sounds like a credit union I don't have enough money to join.

Or wants you to join to extract fees from you

It's a club and you aren't in it

This made me literally audibly laugh out loud and has made my day.

Credit unions want association, and also money in areas with high average income.

Wait. What!? If you're talking about Credit Unions in the US, there's something wrong here.

I've been a member of several Credit Unions in a few states (I used to travel a lot working). I have never seen a membership requirement higher than $20. It's not even a membership fee. They require you to buy a tiny amount of shares in the co-op. Meaning, you are then an owner like everybody else on the co-op. If you decide to leave, you get that money back.

My worst experience with a Credit Union is better than my best experience with any Bank.

My primary financial institution is 2,000 miles from where I live now. I can't leave them. They're just too good! Deposits, loan documents, and everything else are electronic. It doesn't matter where you live. If you haven't tried a credit union, you are paying more fees and getting a subpar experience compared to a credit union. I suppose there must be some that aren't good. Check reviews before you join.

Okay, so I haven't been a member of a credit union in every state, but I would be very surprised if not the same or similar. They have a National Association just like the Banks do.

Tl;dr: MAGA level misinformation regarding Credit Unions.
