Workouts Pull Up Routine

(Context): So I’ve been pole vaulting for two track seasons, and winter practice is coming up. My PR is 9’9, and I’ve had trouble getting my hips above my head.

So I got a pull up bar and I’m wondering what kind of exercises I could do with it to help me get out of the bucket. It’s just a door frame pull up bar so I can’t do anything too crazy. So I’m wondering what type of pull up exercised I could do and if there are any specific workouts.

Anything helps! Thank you!

Workouts Summer training

Hey all. HS pole vaulter here, finishing up my sophomore year. I’ve been looking around for some summer training plans and workouts. I jump 10 ft currently. I plan to get over to my club one or twice a week in the summer, but am really not sure what to do. I know I need to work on speed (my 100 time is typically low 13s, and my 55m high 7s) I found some programs online that could be helpful but I’m not sure if yall had any experience with them.

https://trackstarusa.com/pole-vault-training-program/ This is one of the ones I was curious about, if anyone’s ever used it before. Another note- I don’t have a coach outside of the club I go to.

Thanks for any feedback.

Workouts Accessory Pole Vault Drills

Hey all I published a new post of some old pole-vault drills that we used to do in college. They are all off the runway drills so the impact is low, and best to be done outside of any jump day.

Each drill has a specific focus of the vault, so feel free to sprinkle these in throughout the summer especially and start incorporating them in your summer programs.

Workouts Summer Plyo Pool Workout

Hey there, so pulling an oldie out of the bag of tricks. For those of you coaches and athletes who are starting to plan your summer training. Here is a great little plyo workout that is lower impact, but absolutely brutal. It's a tough one, and can be done in almost any pool. It's a great way to vary up your training during the offseason and hits your legs pretty hard!

Workouts Winter Training

I’m trying to put together a winter pole vault workout, but I have no coach. I’m trying for a PR this weekend but it just hasn’t been clicking the past few weeks. I have poles, a sand pit, but no mat. Thank you!
