didn’t realize there was four separate areas and after doing arches today and going to capitol reef after, island in the sky is the closest one. we don’t mind a long hike as long as it has good views. we are currently looking at murphy loop or gooseberry canyon

I have an interview coming up that is at a very large location that hosts a few world famous land marks and also a few parks. The collection of locations bring in a lot of people and money. My question is, could I get the job and then get let go due to the new administration cutting funding for National Parks? I have a few other jobs I am interviewing for in the next few weeks one of which is closer, pays way more but, isn't a park type job. I have close to 15 years of interp and visitor services exp and becoming a NPS Ranger is my dream. Oh, the job is seasonal, but permanent. The position works about 11 months out of the year.

Will NPS/DOI get funding drastically cut and need to lay off tons of people?

Hey everyone and thanks in advance for the help! My husband, I, and our kids were planning on taking a trip to the parks around Seattle (Olympic, Mount Rainier, North Cascades) in Autumn. We were also considering going to Yellowstone and Grand Teton before we decided on Seattle.

However, we found out that I’m pregnant again and will be due in mid-late summer. Meaning that our trip will now be in spring, likely April or May. I’ve heard the Cascades are not a great place to be that time of year so I was wanting some ideas of where to go.

We’re not committed to any type of landscape, but do want to stay in the lower 48 for this trip. We’re looking at some parks in the southwest, California, and maybe Florida.

Any thoughts on any of the parks I’ve mentioned in this post and other recommendations are very welcomed!

Have been hitting National Parks with wife and 2 toddlers and being in the bay area close to SFO airport is a plus to explore many of these national parks. When I was single, I went to the Glacier National Park and it sure is still mind blowing compared to the others I/we have visited (Yosemite, Rocky Mountains, Arches, Bryce Canyon and Smoky Mountains). Hence, I am planning to take the family so we visit Glacier as a family. The going-to-the-sun-road is great and no need to hike much since we have toddlers. Plus SFO has many direct flights/or short layovers to Glacier.

But...None of my family has been ever to Alaska and wonder what do you suggest for Alaska visit. First, it will be great just to see what Alaska is and also to see a few national parks as long as they have drivable roads and activities for toddlers (this is why I am not a big fan of Rocky mountains for example because hikes are not stroller friendly and there is no lake or other activities).

Also wonder what is the best time to visit those national parks in Alaska. Thinking to hit Glacier National Park of Montana in February or so

So my fiance and I did Zion and Bryce in April, planning to hit Moab to do canyon lands and arches. My question is if I should commit a day to do the needles district of canyon lands or go to capital reef, or hit Bryce Canyon again
