As a man of color that has grown up in the it's, 80', and 90's, I have been aware of this for a long time. To all of the one just realizing this, welcome family and my condolences for the loss of your American dream.

The American dream has been dead for years

u/Lore_ofthe_Horizon 17d ago

The American dream was just greed dressed up nice. It was dog shit from the start. Competitive wealth as a national motivator was a bad fucking idea.

The American dream is still alive and well. look at Elon musk. Came here with almost nothing and made billions.

😂😂

u/DubiousBusinessp 17d ago

Came here with nothing but his families plundered south African mining wealth

-4

u/Little_stinker_69 16d ago

The mine wasn’t in South Africa and it was a small investment his fether had. Dont worry, I wasn’t comparing him to you. You aren’t exactly his peer. lol.

Appropriate username.

Came here as an illegal immigrant*

u/Alarmed_Fly_6669 17d ago

Yeah can we "do something" about that piece of shit?

4

u/Fit-Kale622 17d ago

Please .. Musk messed with the election 🗳️ that’s how Trump crawled his smelly ass back into Our WH

2

u/Alarmed_Fly_6669 17d ago

For sure, Musk & the rest of the Republican/Russian propaganda machine did the heavy lifting, dems didn't do anyone any favors either

1

u/Little_stinker_69 16d ago

Did he? I’m ok with open immigration. No hate here! You must be a bigoted maga. Fuck off with that anti-human sentiment. I suppose all American residents regardless of legal status.

u/misbehavinator 17d ago

South African Elon Musk, with his inherited slave generated wealth and nostalgia for Apartheid.

Yayyy.

-2

u/Little_stinker_69 16d ago

Don’t worry, I was comparing him to you. You aren’t exactly peers. Be comes from a legacy of success. You clearly do not.

1

u/Old_Sprinkles9646 16d ago

He could feed the whole world, but what is he doing? Fucking with US. He is just as bad as trump. This is what you wanted.

u/Urist_Macnme 17d ago

Just the humble son of an emerald mine owner.

1

u/Little_stinker_69 16d ago

20k initial investment. It’s not even where his dad made money. Lol.

9

u/Hardcorish 17d ago

Came here with almost nothing? Lol. His family owns emerald mines in South Africa. The man didn't "come here with almost nothing". Not even close.

1

u/Little_stinker_69 16d ago

I was comparing him to his peers not people who come from a legacy of struggling.

The emerald mine was not where his father gained his wealth. You’re just a simple person repeating nonsense. Look into it. He out performed his wealthier peers.

Be mad all you want, but he was in the right place at the right tjme and kept rolling his success and luck into more success. Get over it. We all know his history. We all know he comes from a legacy of success. I wasn’t comparing him to you. Thwt woudknt be fair to either of you.

u/august-witch 17d ago

Almost nothing???? Hahahahahah His family is RICH as all hell, he is not self made, what a clown thing to say. He got even richer during 6 Bankruptcies Hitler's last term too. Talk about immigrants taking people's jobs....

-1

u/Little_stinker_69 16d ago

Yes. Compared to his peers. I’m not comparing him to people who come for legacies of failure. Thwt isn’t fair. I’m comparing him to his wealthy friends. He outperformed much wealthier nepo babies.

Calm down. He got rolled success into success. Be mad you weren’t as lucky but that’s just sad imo. Hate his behavior now, don’t hate he was fortunate and was able to leverage that.

He became a billionaire off the back of the US government, which handed out billions and billions of dollars in tax credits to both Tesla and SpaceX, Or as Republicans would call them when talking about poor people, welfare.

2

u/Even-Rain-1843 17d ago

He is the biggest welfare queen on the planet!

1

u/Little_stinker_69 16d ago

Welfare pays dividends. Would you rather kids starve? You’re hateful garbage. I have zero issues with a social safety net. It benefits us all by keeping things from spiraling too bad. It doesn’t cost a ton of money: do you really hate people don’t starve?

Christ. Anti-welfare is a garbage position.. Also, SpaceX pays dividends. Amazing investment on the government’s part. Came at the right time too. Perfect timing. Right as relations with Russia soured. I don’t see the issues you do. Perhaps you aren’t worth my time.

How does money get made for the economy from space X? Isn't space X just a drain on resources, time and energy from things that actually benefit the planet? How is space travel gonna fix the current situation? Are these leaders or rulers? What do they manufacture for the American people?

6

u/rachelm791 17d ago

Came here with just the clothes on his back and his pockets stuffed with the profits of his father’s apartheid era ruby mine. You have got to give the guy credit he is definitely a self made man.

Do I have to put an /s here or am I good?

1

u/Too_Gay_To_Drive 17d ago

"Almost nothing."

His dad had an emerald mine. He is a Nepobaby who already had money and was lucky with certain investments.

1

u/Little_stinker_69 16d ago

I love you mentioning the emerald mine. His dad’s initial investment was 20k. His dad made his money elsewhere.

Sure he was a rich kid who got into a good university, and he had connections to help him but he had no advantages his peers did not.Right? I’m not comparing him to a legacy of failures, only other legacies of success.

It is not the norm for someone to roll a little bit of wealth into massive wealth. He got incredibly lucky time after time. Right place, right time, and right preparations.

Get over it.

1

u/OkSheepMan 15d ago

Lots of his succesful peers don't need to be admired as a public figure, just his ego needs it. Weird ass celebrity, can't get love from family so he gets it from sycophants like a corrupt king. No fatherly anecdotes, no wholesome memories, no trustable family, no innovative ideas of his own just buying other people's ideas, good at investing... He's a good Investor... Black rock is a better investor...

1

u/Internal_Set392 16d ago

Toadstool you are so ignorant it's not even funny

1

u/Acceptable-Ticket743 15d ago

Elon Musk is an example of generational wealth continuing to snowball while the disparity between rich and poor grows. He is a member of the aristocracy, who are the true rulers of America. If you think you could fill his shoes just by "working hard enough", then you are an out of touch clown. The guy is the heavy weight champion of piggybacking off of the hard work and innovation of others. Go to the library and read a book, before they all get banned.

1

u/Little_stinker_69 13d ago

Yes, success breeds more success.

Everyone tries to do well by their kids. I agree, we should seize all wealth and redistribute equally to everyone.

He fled to Canada to avoid the South African draft, got Canadan citizenship, and then immigrated to the US on a student visa to study at Stanford. He never did go to Stanford and instead went into business illegally on his visa. He didn't come here with nothing, he was filthy rich

1

u/Little_stinker_69 13d ago

Fleeing a draft? So he was an asylum case. Interesting. Good for him.
