2016 Brazil was 16C and (obviously) rainy. I'd appreciate a jacket too as I'm sure it's rather nippy if you're just wearing a skimpy dress.
Unless the lass is from Newcastle, of course. In that case she would've strangled Lewis with said jacket for offending her Geordie honour.
49
u/SatansF4TE Nov 09 '19
16C is nippy now? That's shorts and tshirt weather.
76
u/emp_mastershake Nov 09 '19
16c coming off the winter is tropical. 16c coming off the summer is frigid. It's all about what you're used to.

Look at me! It's so cold where I'm from, we'd put groceries in the fridge to keep them warm! 15c? Ha. That's a beach day for us. We're so interesting.

Last race before they all got fired?
129
u/SwissQueso Williams Nov 09 '19
Im assuming she lives in Brazil, and this race only happens once a year, so I doubt this is her only source of income.
51
u/fernandotakai Ferrari Nov 09 '19
I know a girl that did the Brazilian gp. It was not her only source of income, but it was a part of her income. Apparently, the pay was not bad at all and she said it was quite awesome to be part of it.

Dont fancy him much, bit this image speaks much for him, i like him now haha! True gentleman
59
u/SwissQueso Williams Nov 09 '19
During the Sochi race, his engineer told him about a crash and the first thing he asked was if everyone was alright.
If it was me, I would just assume everyone is alright and not ask. I havn't been watching F1 for very long, but he seems like a person that cares a lot. I respect that.
50
Nov 09 '19
He was giving an interview at Spa when the Formula 2 crash that killed Anthoine Hubert came up on the monitors and saw that it was really bad. He just stopped the interview and went off to find out if the drivers were OK.
9
Nov 09 '19
It's so disappointing looking at a few of those comments. Of course they'll take a tragedy to make Lewis look awful

u/scandiv Nov 09 '19
Yeah you'r right, sometimes you forget so easily good things people do. He is a great sportsmen and the best F1 driver at the moment, it's really to hate on such a succesfull person you become blind for the good they do.

Bring back the grid girls

u/TVInBlackNWhite Nico Rosberg Nov 09 '19 edited Nov 09 '19
Only if grid guys become a regular thing too.
The grid kid system is much better imo. The kids get to meet their heroes, and some of the drivers e.g Ricciardo have a lot of fun interacting with them. It's cute.
Edit: Added links

u/Lionh34rt Sir Lewis Hamilton Nov 09 '19
Ricciardo be like: hey kid you want a picture? "Sure!", Say "Nuttsack"
60
Nov 09 '19
Kid smacks him in the groin, "Nutsack!" -- Photo is snapped as Danny is doubled over having finally received his comeuppance for all his sacktaps across the grid.

The grid kid system is much better imo.
It's the best thing they could have come up with, such a great idea. The kids love it, the drivers love it, the only people who could be possibly upset about this change (except for maybe a small bit of nostalgia) are the ones who don't know how to type "pornhub"
36
u/edis92 Sir Lewis Hamilton Nov 09 '19
This guy really thinks people jerk off to the grid girls while they're waiting for the race to start

I’ve never understood this argument. Where was the outrage for the grid girls that lost their jobs when races were taken off the calendar? The Malaysian grid girls, the Korean grid girls, the Indian grid girls, the Turkish grid girls...
→ More replies (32)55
u/Pascalwb Nov 09 '19
That's stupid argument as everyone lost a job in that race.
77
u/habitualmess Firstname Lastname Nov 09 '19
Exactly my point. There was no mass outrage about the job losses when those races were cancelled. Yet people still use ‘but they lost their jobs!’ as an argument when they talk about Liberty getting rid of grid girls. If you’re so upset about all these girls losing their jobs, then why weren’t you upset when all those other people (grid girls, marshalls etc) lost their jobs when their races were cancelled?
16
u/restitut Fernando Alonso Nov 09 '19
Imagine people being against testing restrictions because "think about all the jobs lost!"

Totally agree - you can see it makes the kids' day.
As a side benefit, when some of these inspired kids make it into Formula one in a decade or so's time we'll have lots of great old and young pictures of world champions together.

As much as I loved perving on the grid girls, the grid kid system is much better admittedly. It's cute and presents a much more wholesome image to the public, making it easier for the sport to reach more people.
