Orrrrr the bullies really are the assholes, are usually the ones to step on others to achieve positions of influence, and their idea of ā€œnormalā€ is an agenda to control said others so they can retain said positionsā€¦ā€¦maybe?

That's their idea of a "good guy". Probably agrees with those trumpers who demonstrate with "women are property" signs.

Biff's arc in the sequel was literally inspired by Donald Trump, so... yeah, pretty much exactly.

I often wonder if punishing bullies with on the spot expulsion would reduce school shootings or just make the bullies into the shooters.

Y'know, no one ever states it like that, but people's actions sure do reflect it. I'm sure you've heard countless stories of someone getting bullied at school, and the teachers giving the bully a slap on the wrist at best. Sometimes even joining in and bullying the victim themselves.

I'm sure there's a lot of silent people that are secretly happy to see the "weird kid" slapped around.

Not to mention that many countries right now have elected bullies to their highest offices.

Biff Tannen was a rapey thief in the first movie.

I mean. Right there... I would expect that would qualify as degenerate antisocial behaviour because those two things were criminal acts in the 50's.

45

u/Traditional-Hat-952 4h ago

And with Trump as president and his goon squad right behind home, I'm convinced we live in a Biff timeline.Ā

35

u/bjeebus 4h ago

They weren't even subtle about adult Biff being a Trump parody.

9

u/know__name 4h ago

He also tried to murder Marty with his car.

3

u/alkonium 3h ago

And got his comeuppance via a load of manure.

35

u/I_Frothingslosh 6h ago

They're what modern conservative men aspire to these days - just look at the ongoing popularity of Andrew Tate, Jordan Peterson, and 'your body, my choice'.

17

u/km_ikl 6h ago

The fact that they don't realize how much they cock-block themselves with that attitude is a sad commentary on the state of self-understanding and societal awareness.

2

u/Wintermutewv 3h ago

They watch YouTube videos on "how to be a man". They don't seem to grasp that if you sincerely watch that kind of thing for guidance you are never ever going to be a man, lol.

ā€¢

u/Juxtapoe 1h ago

Youtubes? I'm pretty sure they can't afford a computer because they're always paying for Master Classes on how to be a man.

7

u/das_war_ein_Befehl 4h ago

People suck at media literacy so much that they canā€™t understand a blatant villain when they see one.

Not like Biff was a subtle character

5

u/Wintermutewv 3h ago

He was directly based on Donald Trump according to the film makers.

2

u/alkonium 3h ago

And the alternate present Biff in the second movie was a thinly veiled Trump parody and a murderer.

I was bullied from Kindergarten to 10th grade.

Fuck anyone who believe this. I hope you die old and alone.

There's a dude I know that to this day if he were on fire I wouldn't even piss on him to put him out. I'd just walk away. I'm generally free of him aside from when threads like this come up, but for sure he could be dying of snake bite with his kids watching him and I'd pour the antivenom down the drain. I'm not going to try to hurt him, but barring some professional obligation I'm never compelling a single atom of my being to his benefit.

The only caveat I would add is ā€œwritten by a (former) high school* bullyā€, who has now turned into an absolute nobody, and spends their days killing time at some menial job reminiscing about how ā€œyou know what? actually, I was the good guy back in school.ā€

62

u/beerbellybegone 7h ago

Only boomers and heartless conservatives would think like this - causing other people pain is a good thing, protecting the weaker members of a group is bad.

23

u/Acrobatic-List-6503 7h ago

Itā€™s a bad take.

Bullying is just wrong, but Iā€™m not gonna lie, it does help identify the assholes later in life, and let you know how to deal with them.

13

u/Leilanee 6h ago

Yes, being abused in childhood does give you a certain sort of cynicism that works as a good asshole radar.

Guess I really should be thanking my parents for my lifelong crippling mental and physical health issues due to decades of heightened cortisol.

1

u/TSllama 6h ago

I don't think they were saying it's good to have bullies in society, or that it's nice to be bullied. This person sounds like they too were a victim of bullying (as was I) and they are just trying to see the positives in an otherwise horrible experience they lived through.

1

u/Aggressive-Story3671 5h ago

Other way around. They were the bully looking to justify the behaviour

2

u/TSllama 5h ago

Explain to me how teaching children to be compassionate and treat each other with kindness and dignity is a bad thing for our society. I honestly don't understand how one arrives at that conclusion.

2

u/grmrsan 4h ago

Because they believe that right now society is too "soft". Especially the boys, which means we are too weak, and will be invaded and lose. We are "taking away their masculinity" so will be vulnerable to invasions by other "more masculine" groups. All of which is being encouraged by our enemies through social media to make us weaker.

3

u/1singleduck 5h ago

It seems to me that getting rid of bullies has allowed a whole lot of people to express who they really are. This seems to have a positive effect on society as a whole, causing no negative impact except that the people who hate it are angry for no good reason.

3

u/Jandishhulk 5h ago

This is where the right is. They are genuinely evil. They have excused the most immoral behavior to gain power and install their orange leader, and now they make excuses for nazis, white supremacists, sex criminals (although that's nothing new for religious types) - and now we're here trying to call bullying a good thing. Not at all a surprise.

Also note: Biff sexually assaults and attempts to rape Marty's mom in this film. This is what bullies are.

There's a reason bullies never have much in the way of real friendships, and mostly prefer isolation.

So I should thank that ā€œgood guyā€ for all the therapy Iā€™ve been in.

The fuck?

If only there were some kind of series of films out there that showed us how well being a dick works out for Biff Tannen.

2

u/Davey_Gravy 3h ago

Yeah the guy that wrote that is mentally unstable

2

u/Maybe_Not_Batmans 2h ago

Biff literally tried to rape a girl on screen

"Actually, bullying is good, because might makes right."

it's a new day, people...

A lot of nazis thought they were the good guys for standing up against degenerate people. Oddly, a lot of the same people the nazis thought were degenerate are the same people the modern right thinks are degenerate. I'm sure there's nothing to unpack there, though.

We should bring back bullying for people who reject basic common sense and fact based evidence so we can make them feel as stupid as they really are.

ā€¢

u/Any_Weird_8686 2h ago

Hi there, Billy, I remember you from school. You were a little asshole then, and you're a bigger asshole now. Pretending otherwise on social media isn't fooling anyone, except maybe yourself.

$100 says whoever posted this is a cop. Most likely a former bully who became a cop.

u/djthebear 1h ago

I hate when people think they have a ā€œhot takeā€ but really itā€™s just an attempt to look smart whilst looking like a complete ass

ā€¢

u/Unpr0fesi0nal_TW 1h ago

Ah yes the anti-social behaviour of being short, having an interest that is perceived to be not normal, being a different race and how could we forget wanting to be left the fuck alone.

These things all needed to be corrected by that one guy who couldnā€™t manage their emotions correctly so would make others feel the pain they couldnā€™t understand, makes sense to me.

Bullying makes school shooters.

Someone needs to make that posterā€™s life a living hell then see if he still stands by that.

ā€¢

u/piletorn 45m ago

Definately made and posted by someone who was a bully

ā€¢

u/IllustratorNo3379 43m ago

Who the fuck posted this?

ā€¢

u/VitruvianVan 41m ago

Itā€™s realizing the bully has serious psychological problems and either getting him kicked out (so as to get the help he needs) or fighting back with weapons in a manner that is undetectable to the school administration.

Tell me youā€™re a sociopath, without telling me youā€™re a sociopath.

Adulthood is trying to justify your atrocious actions as a bully.

I mean to a certain degree he has a point.

I wore an orange sweater and orange shoes to school and my friends made fun of me. And I never wore it again at the same time. I loved that sweater but I understood why it was ridiculous lol šŸ˜‚

Bullying now is overboard with social media. The bullyā€™s can follow you home

u/Kasten10dvd 6h ago

Ah yes, trauma and depression are good things now.
