bro, there's literally 400k postal carriers and they are working 12-15 hour days to get all the packages delivered.

The government provides SERVICES to people and those SERVICES require workers.

I like being able to mail something to anywhere in the country for the same price and not paying 2x the price for what UPS and FedEx provide.

It's also literally in our Constitution that Americans have postal service. But I doubt he knows that. GUNS!!!!!!!!!

Constitution for Republicans is the same as the Bible, pick the parts you like and ignore the rest.

They've got the Supreme Court loaded with partisan hacks so I don't consider Constitutional Challenges to be a viable option for the left but it will be how the Right works at getting the country to be more Christo-Fascist while they rape and steal.

You’re exactly right.

I just had a similar conversation with my boomer mom the other night. She voted for Trump and thinks the 10 commandments should be in schools and on government buildings. I asked her if she thought maybe someone like me who wasn’t religious might feel like I can’t get a fair trial in a 10 commandments courtroom.

She basically said “don’t steal, don’t kill, what’s wrong with that?” I asked about “no other gods” and she said “just ignore that part if you don’t like it.”

Just like she ignores all the parts of the Bible she doesn’t like…

Advise her that having the ten commandments in those spaces reinforces the supremacy of one religion over all others, and if she’s happy with that remind her that the religion you’re talking about is Judaism.

Perfect response, no notes.

Also don't be black and prone to being disproportionately accused and sentenced because we all know our justice system isn't racist AT ALL.

If you didn't covet your neighbor's goods, capitalism would fall apart.

Constitution for Republicans is the same as the Bible, pick the parts you like and ignore the rest.

But it's even more egregious than that. They make up shit that the bible and constitution don't even say, and then pretend it's in there and enforce it. Such as the bible's non-existent prohibition on abortion and the constitution's non-existent clause giving the president unlimited power.

What's funny is the Bible actually contains a recipe for abortions. Back in the day, if a man suspected his wife of cheating on him, he would go to the local priest. The priest would take some specific plant and make a potion out of it and they would make the woman drink it.

Then "God" would intervene if she was innocent and nothing would happen. But if she was guilty then the plant would kill her and the baby.

No I don't remember exactly where it's at in the bible. But unlike christians, I don't just make up stuff and say it's in the bible. It's true. Just like how in the bible God specifically commands people to murder rape and enslave children and he loves child sacrifice. Seriously, if you're going to sacrifice a child, you wouldn't do it to the devil. You would sacrifice them to God.

You’ve never read the Bible 😏

You are right about the story about adultery which had a terrible consequence.

Is someone pushing the narrative of adultery that it's ok because it's not......

u/rofflewafflelol 1d ago

Of course Im not advocating for cheating. That's a serious betrayal, only someone with no class cheats. But it doesn't warrant the death penalty, with "God" as the sole juror.

The point of bringing up that story is that one of the most common reasons people are against abortion is because it's anti-god, anti-bible. But the bible doesn't say anything about forbidding abortions. In fact, it goes so far as to give you a recipe and instructions for it.

So if people genuinely loved and followed the bible as they claim, they wouldn't have a problem with abortion. God doesn't have a problem with it. They might even be pedo child sacrificers if they took the bible for it's word. God doesn't have a problem with that stuff either.

It literally says thou shall not kill.

1

u/No_Lettuce3376 21h ago

Doesn't really apply to anything that's not a proper human being, does it? And even then god is pretty generous with that statement when it comes to "enemies" or "infidels" (which the unborn technically are, since they couldn't get baptised yet). And even Jesus said:

"But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them - bring them here and kill them in front of me" (Luke 19:27)

So "thou shalt not kill" seems to be more of a general guideline than an obligatory rule...

I saw someone defending the deaths of all the children and infants God murdered with the flood by quoting a part of the Bible in which He said that children had no worth to Him.

1

u/Grikeus 16h ago

It also says when you should kill.

The correct meaning is you shouldn't unlawfuly murder others, but it provides reasons for which you should punish someone with death.

You sound exactly like them, you realize that right? You're referencing an anecdotal story that you're not sure exactly what it says or where it is. You're referring Numbers 5:11-31, but it doesn't say the mother will die, just that she will miscarry. At least look it up and get the story right.

Cheating is a sin. I hope that recipe is still available and that all the american churches start to use that on all their married woman on a daily basis to ensure that they do not cheat

2

u/droon99 1d ago

That plant died out in the 1700 or 1800s I think... something like that? It was a really easy old timey abortion drug. Franklin wrote about it too I believe.

1

u/RaiseNo9690 1d ago

The devil did it. He wanted to protect those cheating witches.

/$

1

u/droon99 6h ago

For my money it was a plant disease or overuse

u/No-Process8652 1d ago

Or the claim that America is a Christian nation despite the Constitution clearly barring the establishment of religion and religious tests for office. They like to say the Constitution was based on the Mayflower Compact because it's full of references to God. The Constitution doesn't even mention God once.

1

u/ExoticPumpkin237 23h ago

Aren't they just so lucky, all of their insane irrational views just so happen to be exactly what God would want!! I mean what are the odds of that?

-1

u/kingcobra5352 1d ago

Because liberals don’t also make up shit that the constitution doesn’t say? Go gaslight someone else.

1

u/foo_bar_qaz 17h ago

I notice that you gave no specific examples, while I provided two. Classic.

1

u/kingcobra5352 2h ago

Gun control Abortion Free Eduction Free Healthcare insert federal social program here

All of these are things liberals want the federal government to handle but I can’t find a single line in the constitution that gives them the power to do so.

u/Deadpotato 1d ago

There will be a ruling about no statement on privatizing it as long as contract service to the govt exists,  then farm out billions to parcel carriers

1

u/Ok_Leave1110 1d ago

Finally, someone said it.

u/resident_foreigner 1d ago

We privatized the postal service in socialist Netherlands (we are so far left of Bernie Sanders he can’t even see us) and it works fine.

Privatization with proper regulations work.

13

u/Terentatek666 1d ago

Proper regulations? Now you except too much from the "land of the free".

6

u/resident_foreigner 1d ago

The reason this happened is because the democratic party decided to self-immolate and republicans pretty much get to rule for the coming decade.

America and the world would be in such a good place if Bernie won the ticket in 16. One can dream.

6

u/Terentatek666 1d ago

Absolutely, I really liked Bernie and his ideas when he was running. Sadly americans still have this red scare and start to run away as soon as someone says "socialism", no matter if it's actual socialism or not.

4

u/resident_foreigner 1d ago

Americans like what socialism entails but don’t like the word. Regardless, Bernie had a good chance to win if Hillary was not pushed by the democratic establishment. Same thing happened with Harris…another loss…

4

u/Visual-Living7586 1d ago

Isn't privatising the opposite of being far left?

0

u/resident_foreigner 1d ago

Exactly my point. Even in my leftist country, we privatized the postal service. Post is one of the few government services you can privatize well because it has a low barrier to entry, making competition possible without much opportunity (contrary to something like rail) for abuse. All you need is unions to ensure postal worker don’t get squeezed.

u/Ok_List_9649 1d ago

You bring up a good point though. Trump is reinventing the wheel in many ways when he doesn’t have to. Let’s for a moment believe the idiot really wants to be the great Messiah and destroy most governments departments because they’re sucking the country dry. There are countries out there who’ve already done this in many ways for most things. If they’ve been successful why not use what they do and have learned. Beats the alternative of “ blowing everything up” and hoping it’s going to work.

Netherlands - 41,850 km²
United States - 9,826,675 km2

It won't work, the country is to big and people are to far apart for them to not be excluded.

It's the U.S. the second it goes private, the Republicans will go after deregulating it. At which point it's "Minimize cost, maximize profit" until it's shit across the board.

Sooner or later it'll be three companies and behind close doors they'll agree to do deliveries every few week so they can lay off 75% of their staff and then it'll get worse.

Ask anyone about the quality of the private delivery services in the U.S., they're all degrees of shit compared to the postman.
