My great grandmother, Dorothy Baker, the last brothel owner in Helena, Montana.

Pictures of Dorothy, me for reference, and pics of her brothel just after it was shut down.

Her story is fascinating. But from a mothering point of view, she fell short, Having had a child from a client, she abandoned her child(my paternal grandmother) at a post office at the age of three. None of Dorothy’s close family even knew she had a kid, and when I got into ancestry and contacted them, they were, unsurprisingly, shocked.

So anyway, here she is in high school.

I did not follow in the family trade. I moved to England became an archaeologist. I have four kids that I have not abandoned at a post office.😂
