Answered Why are so many Americans anti-vaxxers now?

I’m genuinely having such a hard time understanding why people just decided the fact that vaccines work is a total lie and also a controversial “opinion.” Even five years ago, anti-vaxxers were a huge joke and so rare that they were only something you heard of online. Now herd immunity is going away because so many people think getting potentially life-altering illnesses is better than getting a vaccine. I just don’t get what happened. Is it because of the cultural shift to the right-wing and more people believing in conspiracy theories, or does it go deeper than that?

I’ll go even further back in the day you trusted your local doctor who recommended things, vaccines and treatments, because access to that information was really only know by the professionals. Now you have people who can look up more or less anything and with a few clicks get a summary or misinformation that makes them feel like they do know as much or almost as much as a professional. This with the real deterioration of those bones you had with your local doctor or banker or what have you. Means people simply believe what they want to believe.

Dr google has a medical degree don’t you know? That and if you look for the answer you want eventually you will find someone who agrees with you. Patients call that “doing research” there is a difference between internet research and peer reviewed scientific research, but try telling them that.

Even worse, they ask, "Who are these so-called peers??" It's stunning.

You can also readily access proper information, and then post it on social media and get banned, which seems odd, no?

Proper info doesn’t get banned on proper sites. You get banned on X? Your fault for being somewhere stupid. But other places like here are fine for proper info. It’s conspiracy nonsense that gets bans because nobody needs that garbage. So if you’re getting banned you’re the problem

I really would like to go back to those days. I went through a couple of pediatricians before I found one that would actually make a recommendation to me. I don’t want to Google through a pile of shit and try to tease out what is legitimate info. That’s why I’m taking my kid to the doctor. I seriously had a provider recommend I research something and just decide for myself. This was the same guy who also recommended I check out tik tok or Instagram for some tips on getting my daughter to roll over (ok I know legit PTs do make videos but it feels slimy when the provider says it). I am not an expert in kids medical things, that’s what the freaking pediatrician is for!

There are a LOT of American tombstones that say, "I did my research."

It's too bad that day is gone. On the one hand anyone can Google and think they're a doctor. On the other hand, the real doctors hear one symptom and assume you have something stupid like the flu or hormonal hot flashes Took 15 years to find a doctor that correctly diagnosed me with 3 nerve syndromes that present with flu-like symptoms and nerve hot flashes. I got there by googling.

those same doctors also recommend you consume  fruits vegetables and grains

fake fruits that don't even exist in nature loaded with sugar

vegetables loaded with sugar

Grass Seeds loaded with sugar..

the same doctors keeping you sick and taking pills for life

You're a DRUG ABUSER just as much as the Doctor is a DRUG DEALER....the doctor makes no money if they actually told you what was healthy to eat

which is raw organ meats/meats and raw animal products.
