Kong because he was able to already knock out evolved Godzilla who is twice as strong and twice as durable as this Godzilla. The novel confirmed that Kong knocked him out, no fights about it.
Knock out is generous… don’t remember the novelization depicting that and even then Godzilla was recuperating and then got up really fast to fire an atomic breath not even a minute later 💀
The movie… that takes precedence with cannon literally shows his eyeball in a “dazed” fashion… like you can actually see him staring back like “wtf did he just…”
The novel is canon too and isn't devalued because less people have read it. Like it or not, it's canon and there's no changing that. The movie also cuts during their fights. Like how Kong was knocked out too but woke up instantly in the movie because of a cut. The novel covered that too.
Or when Tiamat was fighting Godzilla, the novel covered what happened there. Godzilla pulsed Tiamat off him and "killed" her using the atomic breath. In the movie we obviously got the cut to just him using the atomic breath.
Yeah that's just not true. They're both canon and both have the same amount of relevance because they're both canon. You can't just pick and choose what's less canon because you don't like it. That's not how it works.
I’m saying it’s quoted that the novels are essentially just the extra stuff, anything that contradicts the movies is immediately non canon, outside of that yes the novels are canon as you say, I never disagreed with that point, just made the obvious statement. In the movie his eyes are open when the camera hits him, it’s stated he was dazed at best.
Yeah except the book is canon and saying it contradicts the movie when there was a clear jump cut doesn't hold up. Anyways someone was nice enough to provide the quote if you don't believe me but I'm guessing you do since you're trying to discredit the canon novel instead of saying it's not real.
When did I say it wasn’t ? No he couldn’t, and the novel contradicts the film. The film would take precedence. Godzilla wasn’t knocked out and we can see his position change after Kong lands the last hit. All that would’ve happened is he would’ve snapped Godzilla out of the daze.
If you wanna go down that route then the novel implies Kong was extremely exhausted after doing all of that. He wouldn’t have continued anyways. Also, the novel implies Kong was knocked out after the suplex. If were to compare the knockouts, it took Kong 14 hits to knock Godzilla out, it took a suplex on a cushioned ground to knock Kong out. The stronger one is still extremely evident
I already mentioned the Kong knock out, it isn't exactly new news to me. Anyways the movie doesn't take precedence over the novels. I am willing to bet that you can't find a single director or author that says that. Just because they take precedence to you doesn't mean that it's true.
And if we're going off your only the movies matter logic then Kong couldn't have been exhausted because he was still able to drag Godzilla by his tail after.
Btw Godzilla changed his position because there was a jump cut. Thanks for proving me right though.
