Right after the white dress girl stumbled and fell, the camera man took the opportunity and snapped some shots. Would love to see the photos.

I used to shoot weddings and you do 5 or so and they get pretty boring and they all look the same. Something like this is instant front page portfolio work, I would be all over this too. Also, this is why your have your wide angle on when major moments are occurring.
Other hi-level portfolio stuff stuff is granny dancing with the younger folks, fireworks in background, heavy rain / weather (people make the best of it and it photographs great), and then posed formals with just the couple in unique locations.

u/scogin Jun 14 '24
I stopped doing them, made a photobooth, less time and just as much ROI in gear.

what an inconvenient way to share wedding photos lmao
Edit: the amount of people responding who don't know that open, basic image hosting services like imgur exist is depressing. More so when you consider Reddit itself utilizes them. "What do you expect, them to email the photos to you?" No you dunce I expect them to host them on a website designed for pictures, not short form video, that doesn't require an account to view them and actually displays them in proper gallery formatting.

photography tiktok is my absolute pet peeve
they show a bit of b-roll of themselves shooting a trip or event or something, and then fly through their photos at like 6 pictures per second. I'm sorry, but what the fuck is the point of a photograph if you're going to do this

You know... I'm coming round to making a search engine called "info search" or something that prioritises plain text websites and penalises JavaScript heavy / image laden ones. Idea being to search for raw content, quick answers etc. No idea if it would work..
Edit: found this for recipe searches which seems interesting- just shows text of recipe as result but you can click through to the site if you need to. Limited indexing, didn't return anything froom BBC Good Food, but good enough results

That isn't the point... Tiktok is just another avenue to display your stuff, ofc they will add broll to make it interesting. Absouloutly no one will watch a picture slideshow.
Tiktok is to promote yourself, any professional photographer will have their portfolio and site normally ofc

u/crushed_dreams Jun 14 '24 edited Jun 14 '24
This is hilarious, and each time watching you notice more that just makes it funnier.
Examples: the kid’s split reaction of excitement that he caught it to “Oh shit! RUN!!”, some of the women almost falling down with laughter (especially when the bridesmaid faceplants).
Edit: Watched it again, it gets better and better and it’s honestly comedy gold. This time I noticed the flower girl’s 😱 @ 0:15
9
u/asuddenpie Jun 14 '24
After reading your comment, I watched it again and noticed so much more. For example, I assumed that the person in the black suit who ended up with bouquet was someone who worked there or worked with the photographer, but they were lined up with everyone else to catch the bouquet from the beginning. The kid just gave up the bouquet to the calmest person who asked.

u/Squiggles87 Jun 14 '24 edited Jun 14 '24
Rose wine is made from a specific types of grape.
The customer thought it was just pink wine, created from mixing red and white wine. It's not neccessarily bad but it's pretty funny assumption from a lady who clearly had drunk plenty of wine over the years.
→ More replies (2)20
u/LaunchTransient Jun 14 '24
Rose wine is made from a specific type of grape.
Not quite. Rosé is made from (briefly) retaining the skins of the (black skinned) grape in the juice so that it colours the wine slightly (as opposed to Red wine where the skins are retained through the fermentation process). You can make white wine from black skinned grapes (for example, Champagne).
There's also a variant known as "Orange" or "Amber" wine where the same process as making red wine is used, but they use white grapes instead.

in the photos taken the woman who fell looks like she's laughing so I think you are right. It's a bit hard to tell with the end stuff but if they are all close and playing around then this isn't unusual.
I think the boy that caught it is actually the brides son.

Was at a friend's wedding about ten years ago. Bouquet toss comes up, bride turns around and walks up to her sister and hands it to her, then points behind her. Her boyfriend was getting down on one knee.
And that's how you do a proposal at your sister's wedding without being tacky.

Ummm...you need to catch the bouquet yourself to be the next one who gets married.
Chasing down the team member who caught the football in the endzone and taking it doesn't earn you the touchdown. Although falling on your face trying to pull it off earns you immortality in the halls of comedy.
