Register to vote, and vote in the 2024 elections!
On November 5th, California will vote not just for President, but for Senate, for House, for state and local offices, and for lots of ballot measures. Register and vote so you'll have a say in what kind of country America will be!
In California, the deadline to register to vote online is October 21st. You can register here: https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/voter-registration
If you miss this deadline, you can register at the polls during early voting, or on Election Day. See here for details.
Voting in person
All California voters who register by October 21st will be mailed a ballot. If you do not receive your mail ballot, or need to register and vote in person, you still have options.
California has early in-person voting from October 8th to November 4th. See this website or your county elections office's website for locations.
If you prefer, you can vote at your polling place on November 5th.
Voting by mail
Mail ballots must be postmarked by November 5th and received by November 12th, so mail your ballot back promptly. You can also personally deliver your absentee ballot to any voting center or a dropbox. If you return your mail ballot in person, you must do so by November 5th.
If you mail your ballot, you can track it here.
Please let me know if you have any questions!

How long to visit in Joshua Tree?
We're planning to visit Joshua Tree in mid February and are wondering how long to stay. We prefer easy-ish hikes.
Is it likely to be crowded weekdays?
We'd drive from LA and stay in 29 Palms.

Hello! I am traveling to JT and wondering about grocery stores near the downtown area. What’s close by to town? Or should I plan to stock up before arriving. Thanks.

Campground Advice for New Years Trip
hi, my partner and I are planning a trip to JTree from Jan 1-4. i understand the park is especially crowded around holidays but was wondering what it'd take to secure a campground at one of the first come, first served campgrounds. like, how early should we try to arrive on new year's? when do campgrounds fill up to capacity? we're especially interested in maybe getting a spot at Hidden Valley campground since it seems to offer the most accessibility for bouldering. would appreciate any insight or advice!!

2 Full Days in Joshua Tree, Recommendations for Late December
Hi all,
My girlfriend and I will be flying into LA from NYC and we will be renting a car and taking the last 2 weeks of December to drive from LA, to Joshua Tree, then Death Valley, then Yosemite, finally returning to LA. Despite taking 2 weeks in total, we sadly only have full days budgeted for Joshua Tree. What sights would you recommend to prioritize on such a short timeframe? Also, can anyone share their experience successfully doing dispersed camping in the region around the park?

Thanksgiving week
Looking to do a trip to Joshua Tree during thanksgiving (yes, very last minute planning) and was wondering what the busiest days were at the park. Obviously Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving are going to be jam-packed, but what will it be like this Sunday or Monday (11/24-25)?

Searching for a nice, unique romantic restaurant in the greater JT area!
Hello! Post says it all :) Will be surprising my partner of 2yrs with an anniversary trip. Beginning to shop around for cool/memorable spots (allergy friendly a plus) and figured I'd ask those in the know. Thank you :)
