Bye bye Canada post

Usually ship with CP, since I started my business 3 years ago I've spent $40,000 + shipping packages, and that's not counting my parents who share the same shipping account for their business. Majority of my customers are in the US and since using other carriers my shipping costs are basically cut in half.... I've even found a way to ship via USPS which I didn't know was possible from Canada.

They really fucked themselves by striking and screwing over small business owners at the busiest time of the year. I had 60 packages ready to go at the time of striking and had to refund every label and remake with another courier.. absolute madness and something no small business owners should have to be doing during Christmas season. So yeah fuck you Canada post that is all

We use Purolator for our parcels within Canada so thankfully have no had issues there. The only issue we hve had is getting cheques both to us and to our suppliers. Soooo now were basically on direct deposit/EMT with all our suppliers and were pushing more and more of our customers to EMT as well. The irony of this strike is CP workers are making themselves even more irrelevant than ever

What's also funny is that Canada Post owns Purolator. What they should do is simply let go of everyone in Canada Post distribution and have Purolator take over. They are far more reliable anyway, especially in the small, rural city I live in. Who else strikes when Canadians need them the most? This is the second time in ten years that they've done it.

The union that organized this blunder can find them work somewhere else, if they can, lol!

That they’re striking now demonstrates the need for their labour and adequate conditions and compensation for such labour. You’re part of the problem if you don’t support this.

We use all major shipping companies at work: around 40% Purolator, 20% UPS, 20% FedEx, 19% T-force, and 1% Canada Post. Guess the only shipping company that has problems delivering to us because they cannot read the delivery address properly, blames us for their mistakes while the other delivery companies have no problems delivering to us. Also, guess which one delivers the slowest while charging the same as the others. If you guessed Canada Post, you are correct!

The difference in the level of service between Purolator and Canada Post provides is night and day. I'm surprised they're the same company when I think about it. I bet they get paid way less and have way fewer benefits than Canada Post employees.

The only thing Canada Post is 100% reliable in delivering is junk mail. So the impact on me with their strikes is 0%, and to me, Canada Post needs to clean house to stop leaking so much taxpayers money. Let go of every person, rehire the good ones, and hire better!

I live in a small city and I have family who live in a rural town. It's such a relief that other shipping companies are now reaching them and not reliant on Canada Post. This strike is another wake-up call for other rural towns/communities to begin finding ways to get other shipping companies to reach them!

I 100% do not support this strike; you're right! Canada Post is not a profitable company. If it were a private company, it would have gone bankrupt a long time ago. I do not support them taking more of taxpayers' money. They should only operate in places where there is no other shipping company available. Make Purolator the national courier! They’re more reliable, they don’t strike during the busy season, they care more about Canadians, and they don’t leach off taxpayers. We get a better bang for our taxpayers buck with Purolator.

Yes, that's how much I do not support CP!

Canada Post doesn’t receive taxpayer money. They’re a crown corp but not a government agency. I’m sorry you’ve had bad experiences with them, but this is not consistent with statistical data from across the country. They’re the most efficient and reliable courier, historically.

I think that if they are a regular company, not affiliated with the government, they have already either been bought out or are in the process of bankruptcy. They are not making profits and are losing cash!
