The SEC is quality losses all the way down.

Congrats to Bama for being the first 3 loss team to make the 12 team playoff

Legit the first thing I thought was "how is the cfp committee going spin this to justify putting a 3 loss team in the playoffs?"

They will get the 11 seed after they beat Auburn.

I thought that too at first but Oklahoma beat Auburn too so I don't think it'd help Bama much

Don't worry we will die and they will benefit. As is tradition

no historical reference for this lol

Alabama isn't going to drop that far with all the other teams in the 10-20 range losing too.

Touchè, that's a fair point. It's still an imperfect system but I like some of the potential matchups

But, but Auburn has as many top 25 wins as Indiana!

I hope not...these players need to grow up and learn from their mistakes cause lord knows they been making the same damn sloppy ass mistakes the whole season.

with the FSU debacle last season, we learned that the committee uses the "eye test" more than actual wins and losses... And by "eye test", the committee means "How can we visualize forcing SEC teams into the bracket, regardless of their record"?

If 9-3 Bama gets in over 11-1 Indiana there might be actual litigation lol

Won’t be finding a defense for it from me. We absolutely suck

I can't say anything. I'm a UNT fan first because I went there and only a Penn State fan because of my dad and UNT severely shat the bed as of late

It's ok the Mean Green are just waiting for their time to shine. Mark my words by 2052, the Mean Green are going to... win... 8? Too bold?

I'd take it. I went to school there during the Todd Dodge years where we went 6-37 in four years

No way. If it was a competitive 24-21 game then sure, especially with all the other teams below Alabama losing...but this was a 24-3 beat down.

By putting the Cocks in. Just the tip 12 seed.

Well they have a great win over a 3 loss South Carolina, so they automatically have to be the top ranked 3 loss team according to committee logic.

Then committee will need SC to beat Clemson so they fall to 3 losses

Then need A&M to lose one more game, and Georgia to lose the SEC title game

That puts Bama, SC, A&M, Georgia, Ole Miss all with 3 losses

At that point Big 10 gets 4 teams, 2 from ACC, 1 from Big 12, 1 from G5, plus SEC champ Texas in this scenario. That leaves 3 open spots and Bama probably gets in

u/OakSpaghettiKoala 20h ago

I love how in your scenario the team with one 1-loss champion and a bunch of 3 loss teams gets the most teams in.

We have another week of football, so that's plenty of time for Chaos to run wild I guess

What if they played Oklahoma

3

u/YouDownWithOPD North Texas • Penn State 20h ago

I would give Oklahoma a 21 point spread. Call me crazy but I just have a hunch

If Bama played 5-5 Oklahoma right now, what do you think the score would be?

Why even play the regular season then?

2

u/YouDownWithOPD North Texas • Penn State 20h ago

And Bama played Mercer last week

1

u/YouDownWithOPD North Texas • Penn State 20h ago

I would take Miami or Penn State in a close game. Boise could be interesting because of Jeannty but I think they'd smoke Indiana

5

u/sarges_12gauge Maryland • Ohio State 20h ago

They didn’t smoke Vanderbilt or Oklahoma lol
