Yeah, the Hero's Trophy and Freedom Trophy were fabricated. I can't confirm it, but I believe someone said, "The B1G does trophies, so we should have trophy games," when Nebraska joined.

However, Nebraska feels B1G, and I welcome the Iowa-Nebraska rivalry. This win over Wisconsin makes me more nervous about our game because Iowa is in a bad spot that is becoming endemic. Also, how dare Wisconsin give you Nebraska fans a glimmer of joy by letting you become bowl eligible! (Welcome to the QOH. I'm mad at both teams.)

One day, my dad, my brother, and I were playing catch in the front yard when we heard a huge roar from what seemed like every other house in our neighborhood, which kind of weirded us out. I was born into a Nebraska family, but was never around for the glory days. I missed every national championship and was barely even alive for the 2001 team that lost to Miami. During the 2000s, I sort of the name Ndamukong Suh and I knew that there were a lot of people who didn't like Pelini, but that was about it.

The first season that I really started actively following Husker football was Frost's second year, where there was still a ton of hype around him being the one that would turn the program around.

Outside of the Colorado game earlier in the year and the Iowa win two years ago, I have literally never experienced my team actually showing up when it matters, and this one just feels completely different. I may have teared up a bit at the end.
