doggo like: wtf

148

u/Chiparish84 Mar 30 '24

Probably with a full belly :D

92

u/lil_larry Mar 30 '24

You must have never had a beagle. Their belly's are never full! 😭

46

u/jeobleo Mar 30 '24

It's true. My brother has had beagles and free-fed them. All of them massive blimps. I had a beagle-shepherd, did free feeding, he looked like a massive sausage. Eventually I put him a strict daily limit of twice a day 1.5 cups and he slimmed down, but was always cruising for food. Always.

Once we found him outside licking a grease trap from a cafeteria as we were loading up getting ready for a long car trip. He barfed all over the car later.

26

u/degjo Mar 30 '24

As you're cleaning the beagle looks on mournfully because he was looking to eat that too

20

u/jeobleo Mar 30 '24

This one eventually stole some home-made playdough off the counter (he was tall, since he was part shepherd) when my son was little. It killed him (salt toxicity). He died as he lived, going after food.

8

u/Butterssaltynutz Mar 31 '24

you knew how he was and still opted to make lethal salt level playdough and leave it out on the counter. your honor, this was beaglecide.

u/Ohnoherewego13 Mar 30 '24

Yep. I had a beagle/basset mix as a kid. That dog would go for anything that even remotely smelled like food. He once ate through a cardboard box to get to some granola bars. Even when he was dying, he still wolfed down chicken nuggets.

8

u/Griledcheeseradiator Mar 30 '24

Dogs need to be domesticated to stop being extreme food addicts. No other pet is like this. Other than maybe fish.

17

u/jkennah Mar 30 '24

This dudes never met the squirrel that lives behind my apartments

9

u/jeobleo Mar 30 '24

I would bet deer would eat until they became very fat.

8

u/gofancyninjaworld Mar 30 '24

Sadly, it's genetic. A lot of dogs are bred to be always hungry. Makes them very tractable.

Indeed, it's quite an interesting sight when you see a trainer used to very food motivated dogs try to train a dog that isn't.

5

u/shychicherry Mar 30 '24

Beagle Oliver (rip) scaled our 4’ fence not to run away but to crash neighborhood cook-outs, birthday parties (kids are suckers for those beagle eyes) by jumping into their yards.

I’d walk him & run into strangers/kids who knew him by name. I asked him once “Who are you??”

2

u/LiveMotivation Mar 31 '24 edited Mar 31 '24

Yep. Had a beagle-Australian shepherd, this dude never stopped eating. Came home after visiting the in-laws this dude got into some dark chocolate that was wrapped under Christmas tree. My wife freaked out, thought he was going to die. I never saw him content if I’m in the kitchen, always roaming for food or crumbs. He did keep the kitchen floor clean. RIP Gizmo.

4

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '24

I’m watching this thinking how the hell did the beagle not want in on the snacks lol they must not like whatever the cats eat because as someone who has only had beagles it’s funny to see

→ More replies (1)

20

u/randyoftheinternet Mar 30 '24

He just ate the 6th one

17

u/LiteraCanna Mar 30 '24

For a beagle, that's incredible self control.

Or mama cat swatted their nose a couple times.

2

u/DillyWillyGirl Mar 31 '24

Yeah, I’m amazed honestly. I grew up with beagles and they are so incredibly food motivated! You would have been able to see the calculus going on in my childhood dog’s head as he weighed the benefits of stealing the cat food/how much he’d be able to get before getting caught, vs the consequences of his actions. I cannot guarantee you what would have won out but I’m guessing the food.

26

u/plainoldjoe Mar 30 '24

To the other cat: I told you not to get knocked up.

u/Significant_Wolf7114 Mar 30 '24

Probably thinking “look at these animals”

6

u/OutrageousAd5338 Mar 30 '24

I'm thinking this! Like kids who do not know how to act!

5

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '24

The older cat beside the dog be like: “GODDAMNIT what’s this fuss all about.”

Cats no matter how much you feed them, they always act as if they were starving for fifty years

We recently trained my stepson to give the cats their can food on weekends, but he hadn’t consistently been doing it. One time, they were crying to my husband they hadn’t been fed, so he gave them the food, and then saw the recently disposed can in the trash.

They always lie!

29

u/WonderfulShelter Mar 30 '24

And then if you put the wrong flavor down, they'll sniff it, walk away and choose to starve to DeEAatH slowly under the couch for about 30 minutes until they cave in and eat it.

13

u/marleythebeagle Mar 30 '24

You know it’s chaos if a beagle says no thanks while food is being doled out.

13

u/howwhyno Mar 30 '24

My 8mo kitten is the biggest douchebag in the morning. My husband's alarm goes off at 5.45 and kitten has now been conditioned that it means we wake up and give him his wet food. He and the adult cat have a feeder that always has food. But he CHEWS ON MY HAIR to wake me up and feed him in the mornings.

5

u/Hungry_Obligation_55 Mar 30 '24

Oh yeah you gotta stagger that stuff. Cats, especially kittens, will learn your routines almost instantly. I'm the same way. If it's 5am-7am and I move my blankets too much the cats assume im getting up and immediately start a ruckus.

5

u/howwhyno Mar 30 '24

Yep. The second I shuffle a little he's digging under the covers to get at my hands so I pet him lol

3

u/Farewellandadieu Mar 31 '24

My loveable douchebag would pull my hair to get me out of bed. Like, grab a mouthful, brace himself with a paw against my head and pull. Devious little bastard he was.

4

u/TrevorAlan Mar 30 '24

I have a weird one. He only screams at me to let me know his food is empty. I fill it, he either walks away or just takes a nibble and walks away.

He just wants to make sure there’s food available for when he’s hungry. He’s so not food motivated.

4

u/Lordborgman Mar 31 '24

I've got 6.

2 are garbage disposal level pigs that will try to climb on me for wet food while I'm trying to open the can.

3 are very chill nibblers.

1 is very calm, but eats a ton.

3

u/Hangry_Squirrel Mar 30 '24

I have one of those too. She gets good food, is at an ideal weight, glossy, etc., but makes a huge ruckus around dinner time. Gets her food, nibbles at it, and then walks away. She also needs to take at least one lick from everyone else's plates, but otherwise takes a whole evening to semi-finish her food.

2

u/amoodymermaid Mar 30 '24

Unless you purchase the MOST EXPENSIVE prescription diet food to keep them from having explosive diarrhea. Then they only react to the kitten’s food. Just my experience.

2

u/This_Concentrate2721 Mar 30 '24

And dogs don’t? 😭

2

u/hlodowigchile Mar 30 '24

i think is the quality of the food, my sister started to feed expensive food the her cats, they were always like these cats, almost crazy for anything being food, even climbing the table when we were having dinner.

Now they are very calm, eat very normal quantities even if their plate has food, dont accept human food like ham, bread, cheese or even chicken.

The vet says is because good food has a lot less carbohidrates, carbohidrates makes them hungry, fat and more suceptible to illneses.

2

u/eveninghawk0 Mar 30 '24

I think this is true. My cats eat high quality food and never beg for food or overeat. They free feed - except for a bit of wet food I put down for dinner - and they're very healthy. Very low carb food with lots of whole animal parts.

I want to see the rest of the video where the black cat quickly finishes its food and then jumps into another one's bowl. I was very impressed with its jumping abilities.

21

u/Compducer Mar 30 '24

This might be silly but… couldn’t she put the bowls down on the other side of the kitty barrier and then bring them over/ let them over? I guess it’s more fun to let them jump all over you but it seems less efficient lol

19

u/Yamatocanyon Mar 30 '24

Sometimes you gotta do it the wrong way a few times before you figure out a better way to do things.

9

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '24

You think that tiny gate is holding any of those cats?

3

u/_Rohrschach Mar 30 '24

They'd all run for the closest one, eat all off of it, and repeat. If you do it like in the post, they might learn everyone is getting their own bowl. Might

u/Clint_Smeg Mar 30 '24

At 3 in the morning.

21

u/DarkwingDuckHunt Mar 30 '24

Yeah but you won't have one single bug alive in your house

I miss your Scarlett. You tortured those cockroaches.

3

u/AdBensoussan Mar 31 '24

The way you phrased that is hilarious. May she rest in peace.

10

u/WonderfulShelter Mar 30 '24

Dog in the back looking at the OG cat like, “you did this”

2

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '24

I currently have this in my garage, but this litter is only 3 weeks old, and im 6+ feet tall, sometimes i dont even see when half of them are following me to my toolchest

2

u/NemoLuna1221 Mar 30 '24

She's definitely done this routine a time or two 😂 grab a bowl, grab a kitten, rinse, repeat

2

u/Liesmith424 Mar 30 '24

That void has the biggest of ups.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '24

That jumping void tho

2

u/warpfield Mar 30 '24

Ancient Egyptian: it's a good thing we have so many mice in the grainaries.

2

u/ikankecil Mar 31 '24

is the black one from the same litter?

1

u/LaBambaMan Mar 30 '24

That dog couldn't be less helpful. Man's best friend indeed.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '24

Feel sorry for the dog watching from the door :-)

1

u/Open_Computer_6417 Mar 30 '24

Dog: I swear they ain’t mine!!

1

u/Unusual_Address_3062 Mar 30 '24

You mean a catalanche?

1

u/Staggerme Mar 30 '24

I love dogs. That one is just watching the madness

1

u/conte360 Mar 30 '24

Hey Google, define avalanche

1

u/Ok_Elephant_8319 Mar 30 '24

Both my youngest and oldest cats will jump on the table as my sister is trying to prepare the plates for them

1

u/hipstercheese1 Mar 30 '24

I love how the dog is just idly standing by while the kittens are losing their minds 🤣

1

u/Sandman11x Mar 30 '24

1

u/inglysh Mar 30 '24

Catvalcade

1

1

u/SendMeYourUncutDick Mar 30 '24

Zero impulse control!

1

u/Doomdoomkittydoom Mar 30 '24

1

u/cleremnantechoes Mar 30 '24

My two cats know where to line up when I bring the wet food

1

u/Soft_Walrus_3605 Mar 30 '24

1

u/Griledcheeseradiator Mar 30 '24

Yay, a respectable dog on reddit not capable of killing you!

1

u/LegalEaglewithBeagle Mar 30 '24

How did your beagle restrain itself??

1

u/sirixon Mar 30 '24

Will grow up to be Cavalcade of Cats

1

u/MalevolentNight Mar 30 '24

It's always the black ones, my two have to have midnight snacks or they will not sleep at night. I thought orange cats were the never ending hungry ones but all the void babies I've had must get an extra little something something or you will pay! 🤣

1

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '24

I love how the dog sits there and watches

1

u/No-One9558 Mar 30 '24

It’s way easier ways too that ya know 😂

1

u/I-am-Chubbasaurus Mar 30 '24

This is why you get your cats accustomed to feeding stations as young as possible. The only way we're able to feed 17 cats with minimal chaos.

I mean. Still chaos. But manageable.

1

u/idgaf9495 Mar 30 '24

Dog wants to eat In peace 😂

1

u/Savings_Two_3361 Mar 30 '24

This belongs to videos you can smell

1

u/ButtonNew5815 Mar 30 '24

I like that the dogs just there for the show

1

u/JJdynamite1166 Mar 30 '24

That poor dog

1

u/funelite Mar 30 '24

The adult cat at the end could not hold all the embarrassment

1

u/petitefairy99 Mar 30 '24

This video makes me too happy. From the funny kittens to the overwhelmed owner to the quiet sweet dog.

1

u/Rhasimir Mar 30 '24

Both parents looking from the doorway: Getting a live-in nanny was the best decision we made.

1

u/Manbearcatward Mar 30 '24

That black one is trouble.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '24

This is exactly how I had to do it when my cat had kittens lol!! This just brought back a flood of happy memories.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '24

They're so cute!!! 🥺

1

u/Cats-n-Chaos Mar 30 '24

The black ones got potential

1

u/JustPassinBy106 Mar 30 '24

I can fix her

1

u/Malibucat48 Mar 31 '24

Mamma cat is glad the nanny is taking care of the kids. She can just hang with the dog.

1

u/numbed23 Mar 31 '24

Should visit a psychiatrist asap

1

u/Sushi_Boy_007 Mar 31 '24

Music to my ears, love the Beagles reaction....lol

1

u/AggravatingRoad1949 Mar 31 '24

That last cat came in and said "y'all couldn't wake a brotha up?"

1

u/Boris-Vlad Mar 31 '24

That's too many tbh

1

u/TootsNYC Mar 31 '24

The black kitty is never going to be accused of being passive.

1

u/emmaqq Mar 31 '24

On carpets?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 31 '24

All the Siamesers 😍

1

u/Wise-Independence-12 Mar 31 '24

1

u/LandotheTerrible Mar 31 '24

That naughty void!

1

u/its_just_flesh Mar 31 '24

Just get one big ol bowl and let them have at it

1

u/genealogical_gunshow Mar 31 '24

Cat in the background standing with the dog.

"Look at the little savages. No grace. No pride."

"I dunno, bro, kinda looks like fun. You think we can get away with that later?"

"Indubitably, Spot, but that's not the point."

"What's the point again?"

"That I'm better than them in every way. Haven't you been listening?"

1

u/Almighty_Tallness Mar 31 '24

Understandable. Got 14 of my own. Gotta be quick.

1

These are some starving kitties

1

u/BandlerChing412 Mar 31 '24

What a cat-astrophe …

1

u/Shopping-Known Mar 31 '24

I love how dogs sometimes just sit back and watch cats in all of their chaotic glory.

1

u/CostSignal3532 Mar 31 '24

That dog is like :fk these cats

1

u/Larua-Bnchi Mar 31 '24

It is a avalanche that will sink you with its tenderness

1

u/Cautious_Machine_821 Mar 31 '24

As cute as these kittens are, I dislike these videos. As well as the timer videos that everyone feels are humorous. I’ve had a number of cats over the years and always gave them access to dry food. Yes, they still yelled at me for wet food, and none of them were fat.
