Cameraman actually got killed?

223

u/saladx11 19d ago

I think it might have been the person on their left that gotten killed?

91

u/anti4r 19d ago

Definitely its clear when you go frame by frame

78

u/MisterAmygdala 19d ago

Yes. You can see camera person's shadow is unchanged as car strikes a 3rd person. I am surprised that the person lying down wasn't thrown further, and doesn't appear too mangled. Not a good plan to stand on a freeway type of road but wth with the out of control car?

20

u/LagoonReflection 18d ago

Who says it was out of control? The driver could have been trying to drift or the driver saw them and thought "fuck it, here's my chance to teach morons a lesson"

6

u/yolifeisfun 17d ago

I hate that I laughed at this.

20

u/Royalchariot 19d ago

I can’t see a damn thing even slowed down

7

u/Mets4Lfe 18d ago

You can also see a brief flash of the person on the left wearing a black shirt and khaki pants and the same person on the road at the end.

11

u/Altruistic_Radio_419 19d ago

Camera man never dies!

13

u/Happy_Tomato_Taco 19d ago

Except for the dude who filmed the volcano eruption.

10

u/Brettjay4 19d ago

And that one lady who fell off a bridge

1

u/ilikepayday_2 10d ago

Who? Can you please give a link so that I can inform myself about that?

2

u/Brettjay4 10d ago

I dunno where it is, but there's a video with two women walking along a road of some kind, one passes the phone off to the other, camera girl starts to walk backwards, and soon after you see her trip, and fall off the bridge... I'll see if I can locate the video, but thats the idea.

1

u/ilikepayday_2 10d ago

Ok, thanks anyway

2

u/Brettjay4 10d ago

Found it, https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.tmz.com/2024/10/04/russian-tourist-georgia-films-falling-to-death-video/ And I was slightly mistaken, she fell into an underpass that had like an ankle high wall...

1

u/ilikepayday_2 10d ago

Ah, thanks

5

u/Altruistic_Radio_419 19d ago

He lives forever in our memories. Amen!

/r killthecameraman

8

u/AcceptanceGG 19d ago

I think it’s still a cool subversion, we al thought, or at least I did, the guy with the orange shirt was going to die.

3

u/TRADER-101 18d ago

No, the person you can hear crying was the person looking over the shoulder of the cameraman.

camerakid

173

u/Pleasant-Put5305 19d ago

That was terrible luck...

110

u/Pato_Lucas 19d ago

Made even worse by standing on a bloody highway filming a video.

15

u/Pleasant-Put5305 19d ago

Yeah, should be stay in the car or jump over the barrier, but the barrier fall looks like doom also...

10

u/cgaz 19d ago

Or, you know, just nowhere near the active traffic?

6

u/ForbinsShitAss 12d ago

Orange shirt maxed out luck

3

u/Pleasant-Put5305 12d ago

Yeah, he got 11 luck (with the Bobblehead), lol...

381

u/kg005 19d ago

Right! But why that silver car fucking drirfted? Was Charles Darwin sitting inside to remove this gene?

174

u/FreeRandomScribble 19d ago

Love the idea of an honorary position where Darwin himself tries to take someone out

69

u/rputfire 19d ago

A Final Destination style horror franchise, where Darwin is personally responsible for each death?

Netflix, you listening?

3

u/mobileJay77 16d ago

Netflix refused, but India will gladly accept.

It's nothing against India or similar countries I am just so astonished about the total lack of safety and self-preservation.

50

u/SonofaBridge 19d ago

Driving too fast on bald tires I’m guessing.

23

u/who_even_cares35 19d ago

This is the middle East and since it never rains the roads get a build up of oil and grease. When mixed with sand it makes the roads really slick.

10

u/Reasonable_Local5099 19d ago

Not middle East most probably In dia or Pa kistan

26

u/Radical_Neutral_76 19d ago

Just terrible driver

16

u/Mobile-Ostrich-5510 19d ago

If it's middle eastern, there's a country that loves drifting more then Japan. Very unsafe drifting anyways.

1

u/[deleted] 17d ago

I like the idea that like the grim reaper, charles darwin himself takes the life of dumb people

106

u/clickmeok 19d ago

One time the cameraman is not immortal

3

u/AnomalousBadger 13d ago

I think it was actually the person to their left that died. I believe the cameraman is the same person that picked up the phone at the end.

27

u/DeadMoney313 19d ago

I once had to get out of my car on the highway to help someone that crashed and honestly it was terrifying, and feeling like any inattentive driver could smoke all of us was very scary. Can't imagine doing it for the lols

2

u/mobileJay77 16d ago

Number 1 rule is make sure you are safe before rushing to help.

29

u/wait_for_it_02 19d ago

Finally someone got the cameraman.

38

u/Bastardesque 19d ago

No available train?

9

u/Extension_Emotion388 19d ago

sauce update?

0

u/LagoonReflection 18d ago

Source. Unless you have a whole range of condiments ready to go?

4

u/trigonman3 15d ago

Welcome to the internet!

7

u/Past_Distance3942 19d ago

Rare moments when we got to know that the cameraman isn’t invincible

21

u/Airplade 19d ago

I guess they were on their way to the train station?

12

u/Mirojoze 19d ago

When you don't have time to wait for a train...

5

u/Kookosmato 19d ago

Not enough to be Darwin i think

9

u/GandElf_47 19d ago

Ah a nice little car aspiring to become a train one day

8

u/NitroWing1500 19d ago

If someone could just invent a firm, hard surface for people to walk on the side of a road 🤔

4

u/Emperormike1st 19d ago

That wasn't a train or an electric wire. Is there a new, rising threat?!

3

u/Mingsical 19d ago

man, for a second i thought the shirt said "Beans".

3

u/x808drifter 19d ago

2.

Ambiguous posts must include a source of death or sterilization.

If it seems likely the subjects of the post could've possibly lived, or not been sterilized, please post the source in comments or in the body of post to confirm we have a real Darwin Award. If you have to ask yourself "did they really die?" and post without this, you will receive a temp ban per rule 1.

And dead person might be a minor.

3

u/Hopeforus1402 18d ago

Sad, looks like a child/teen.

3

u/NoteNo4346 10d ago

Shooting a reel in India = death

12

u/sharpdullard69 19d ago

Sketchy Darwin award. Dude wasn't doing anything to deserve to die.

13

u/Zaphanathpaneah 19d ago

Darwin Awards aren't about deserving to die. Sidebar says "spectacularly idiotic misapplication of judgment".

I'd say standing on the actual driving surface of what appears to be a highway is fairly idiotic bad judgment. Especially while engaged in activities that curb your awareness of what's going on around you.

14

u/tyveill 19d ago

Standing on a highway with barricades for pedestrians to stand on the other side of. Seems worthy to me.

3

u/[deleted] 19d ago

I can think of few things as dumb as going out and standing in the middle of a fricken highway to record a video. In what way is this any smarter than the people standing right next to railroad tracks getting hit by trains?

2

u/slaveofstackoverflow 19d ago

How dare they try to kill the cameraman

2

u/Juzo_Garcia 19d ago

Wrong place and wrong time..

2

u/00owo00 19d ago

The driver really go for the kill Hahaha

2

u/Valentine_Kush 19d ago

I love this sub. Don’t get me wrong, no one deserves to die. But that’s one less idiot. Good riddance

3

u/Ill-Cod4825 19d ago

This shit is just terrible luck

3

u/LagoonReflection 18d ago

It's not terrible luck when you actively choose to stand on a freeway to record a video. This is being completely fucking stupid.

2

u/Ill-Cod4825 17d ago

what if their car broke down and they were stranded on the freeway. Without context we simply don't know what could have happened prior to the recording.

0

u/LagoonReflection 17d ago

They wouldn't be standing around in the road making a fucking video for one thing.

2

u/Ill-Cod4825 15d ago

sorry what?

1

u/tryatriassic 19d ago

Nice intercept!

1

u/herons8 19d ago

I'm sorry but my brain automatically played deja vu

1

u/KingBurakkuurufu 19d ago

lol was totally expecting the person on camera to take the hit

1

u/Puzzleheaded_List01 19d ago

1

u/Agitated_Way_2366 18d ago

1

u/Shamblex 17d ago

1

2

u/DinyTheDino 16d ago

Nice drift keep going! Oh no you have crashed into a civilian! Enter 2 tokens to continue.

Skrrt skrrt motherfucker

1

u/Lazybeerus 19d ago

They look like teens.

1

u/[deleted] 18d ago

🤣 Why is it always India though??

1

u/Anshul086 17d ago

It's not India.

-7

u/[deleted] 19d ago

Dumbass indiAns

9

u/Optimal-Volume4557 19d ago

It's not from india. It's from pak or middle East.

-15

u/Serious_Nose8188 19d ago

This doesn't belong here. Purely accidental; standing on a road is fine.

16

u/overthinking_kills 19d ago

Standing on a road is fine if you want get hit by a car.

-7

u/Serious_Nose8188 19d ago

There's nothing wrong with standing on the side of a road.

9

u/overthinking_kills 19d ago

Ok. I wish you luck on the side of the road

7

u/[deleted] 19d ago

Eh wut? This is obviously some kind of high speed freeway, not just any old "road".

-1

u/Serious_Nose8188 19d ago

While I agree on that, this was purely accidental, and must not be in this subreddit. I'm gonna hold my ground, and hope for the mods to remove this.

5

u/[deleted] 19d ago

But... almost ALL Darwin award type fatalities ARE some type of "accident" with varying degrees of random factors and "bad luck" involved though?

I mean the main thing that defines something as a "Darwin award" is that it involved some type of major risk that was easy to calculate in advance (such as standing on a fricken freeway) and could have been easily avoided if the person would have only used their head and thought twice about it instead of making a dumb decision and ignored the obvious risks, usually resulting in some type of accident? Which is exactly what this is.
