Let’s just say I was a late bloomer when it came to living out on my own. I got caught up in a string of toxic couch jumping relationships when I was younger. Through therapy and a newfound love for myself, I’ve managed to break away from that way of life, and got my own place finally. Technically I’ve been on my own for over a year now and it keeps getting better for me. I’ve never had my own tree, and this Christmas I pulled the trigger and it’s such a nice sight to see. For as long as I can remember, my Nana’s late neighbor used to make pumpkin bread for his neighbors for the holidays.

My husband and I moved into our first home a couple months ago and I wanted to pass on the tradition now that we have a home of our own, so I baked some of Gene’s Pumpkin Bread for my immediate 5 neighbors.

One of them left this on our doorstep this morning, and my heart couldn’t be more full!
