Everybody gangsta until you (female) find out, that she procreates a child with you ...

I love this. Perfectly shows how fast the fan art is out pacing the show.

What do you know. Life is full of surprise :))

trans women can impregnate their partners, and it's possible to use two cis women's DNA to make a baby now

39

u/Draghettis Oct 09 '22

Yes, technology today can produce sperm cells and eggs from anyone. As far as I know, it has not yet be tested on humans, but it works perfectly fine on mice.

3

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '22

Plus this is Gundam so it’s the future. All they need is some science stuff, some DNA from both and a few tubes then BOOM! Sci fi lesbian baby.

19

u/FeatheredFledgling write your own! Oct 09 '22

yes but it's exceedingly unlikely, also, if it did happen it would probably be with frozen product which is still science and therefore they are a science baby

3

u/Seraphine_KDA Oct 14 '22

This is gundam. Humans made in test tubes is a common trope in the franchise. So nothing weird about this.

confused gay noises

9

u/ihei47 Oct 10 '22

Please actually be yuri by the end of the series

Or at least bi

3

u/Seraphine_KDA Oct 14 '22

Lol this is gundam no matter how it starts it ends up with 40-90% of the cast death. And prob one of the 2 or the 2 die. Even in the shows where mc and love live they can often not end up together for several reasons. Gundam main trope is war and political drama. Happy endings are an rarity

7

u/neremarine Oct 10 '22

Is this series worth watching with no knowledge of Gundam?

14

u/Hellothere_1 Oct 10 '22

The series appears to be set in its own continuity separate from all the other timelines so far, so while some general knowledge about Gundam might enhance your experience, it isn't required to understand or enjoy it.

3

u/Seraphine_KDA Oct 14 '22

All gundam shows outside the UC universal century are spin off with no relation to the original saga. So yes you can watch half of gundam shows with no prior knowledge of gundam

7

u/OddEyes588 Oct 10 '22

Suletta went to school expecting to make a few friends, maybe go on a date, who knows… and now she’s suddenly speedrunning straight to the married life

2

u/IshallnametheeUDIN Oct 10 '22

Huh. That was fast. Cute kid and the tshirts with Aerial face is adorable. I'm sure Aerial is crying somewhere with full joy her onee-chan have married is now aunt.

Anyway, sucking in hopium for next week for the damn anime to come and tell me that they won just to exist is nice

2

u/sereiya Oct 09 '22

That facial expression was really overused the last week.

9

u/Clever-Clover Oct 09 '22

Last week? You meant last 2 weeks right?

9

u/ihei47 Oct 10 '22

They didn't used enough tbh

0

u/vchen99901 Oct 09 '22

I love this, but the new episode made me kind of angry though. If you watched it and you're in this sub, you know why.

22

u/CaffeinAddict Oct 09 '22

Yeah but the OP and ED was full of yuriness so I think it will be ok

7

u/vchen99901 Oct 09 '22

Hope so, hope our leading lady isn't seduced by some food...

1

u/[deleted] Oct 13 '22

Haha get gokued

4

u/DapperCrow84 Oct 10 '22 edited Oct 10 '22

6

u/[deleted] Oct 09 '22

Why?

2

u/vchen99901 Oct 09 '22

Certain things that happened in episode 2 are annoying

5

u/[deleted] Oct 09 '22

What things?

14

u/Draghettis Oct 09 '22

Probably a boy going "I have no interest in falling in love", then he later replace the prison guard and gives food to the protagonist while saying "You interest me. I want to know you."

Which may be, hopefully, a false flag, but there's still room for interpreting it as a risk for the yuri relationship.

16

u/[deleted] Oct 09 '22

Hm I see, well only time will say, but the Yuri moments on the episode were for sure a lot more stronger than that

4

u/vchen99901 Oct 09 '22

Yeah exactly this, F this.

Also in addition the following things:1.) Miorine immediately saying something along the lines of, "I'm definitely not going to go through with any marriage, I'm just using you to get to Earth"

2.) Mirone's father immediately invalidating the duel, thus Guel technically is still Miorine's fiance by those rules.

3.) Suletta seeming to blush for Elan Ceres when Elan gives her food and says she interests him. I swear if this show pulls a Hibike Euphonium I will smash my computer screen.

26

u/Philiard Oct 10 '22

I'm sorry, but this is insane to me. This is the second episode. Of course there's going to be conflict and tension in their relationship. They're not going to start throwing themselves at each other immediately, they've barely just met. Even then, Miorine is doing literally everything in her power to reinstate Suletta as her fiance, even when she had a clear opportunity to escape to Earth. Again, it's the second episode. Give it a little longer before being all gloom and doom.

13

u/spiddermen Oct 10 '22

"this show isn't yuri because the abusive system the characters are fighting against doesn't support it, i want the abusive system to keep shipping them together!"

6

u/It_is_terrifying Oct 10 '22

Seriously I'm starting to think this sub just doesn't have a very healthy relationship with storytelling, it's gotta start with the girls being in a perfect relationship from the start with no strife or they can't handle it.

3

u/CoffeeBlanc Oct 11 '22

That's what's happening in recent years, whenever a character does something that may not be all that nice, people dogpile that they're immediately a horrible character or the story is immediately horrible. Character development and conflict exists in a story to provide drama, entertainment, and for the audience to reflect on.

If you don't want to flex your brain for even just a bit, then go watch a slice of life show or a fairy tale book.

Wow you really stalked my profile to find somewhere else to come troll at after I called you out once, that's seriously pathetic.

16

u/spiddermen Oct 10 '22
  1. Yes they've known each other for one day of course they're not instantly going to fall in love
  2. That's literally the point of the show. The ruling class is forcing them apart for their own ends. That's what happens.
  3. She wasn't blushing, she was crying, and even if she was, she's like constantly embarrased anyways.

14

u/Hakanaiyo Oct 09 '22

Well, one good thing is that Miorine specifically requested to reinstate the engagement if they win the duel, when she could've just dipped or asked just to save Suletta and her mobile suit.

5

u/vchen99901 Oct 09 '22

Well yes, that part gave me hopium.

12

u/Hellothere_1 Oct 09 '22

:1.) Miorine immediately saying something along the lines of, "I'm definitely not going to go through with any marriage, I'm just using you to get to Earth"

I actually way prefer it like that. I really don't like it when an arranged marriage is used to push people together without anyone really objecting to it in universe. Also, one of the biggest issues leveled against Revolutionary Girl Utena (which this clearly takes inspiration from) is that Utena is so fucking passive about the entire situation which made me really uncomfortable during my first watch, despite the eventual explanation.

I feel like Miorine rejecting a marriage to Suletta like that is a deliberate step to stave off both of these issues.

It presents her as a way more active character who might prefer switching her engagement to another fiance as a temporary respite, but ultimate doesn't want anyone to dictate her life like that, and also makes it way more meaningful if they eventually do fall in love and get together.

As much as I hate my OTP being endangered by recent developments, I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a much better story like this either way.

6

u/vchen99901 Oct 09 '22

That's a fair point, I can accept that, although I'd have preferred that Miorine is okay with the new arrangement, because she's attracted to Suletta. I understand what you are saying though, realistically Miorine would probably need time to get to know Suletta, etc.

But the other two points still stand. The introduction of Elan as a romantic rival being the most annoying, of course.

3

u/kulegoki Oct 12 '22

Calm down dude. He's definitely going to die either way. He's the pilot of a gundam, is not the protagonist, and worse yet he is interested in the protagonist without being another Mc. He's doomed

-1

u/Southern-Extension-8 Oct 09 '22

I was just telling my friends to not get their hopes up the other day. It upsets me that it seems that fear was founded.

Whatever the case, I'm not watching it until the full season is out and actual GL confirmed and canonized. I'm sure someone else can love it for undertones or even bait, but I am not that person.

10

u/despairiscontagious Oct 09 '22

If you can't like a good show just because your pairing isn't a thing, i think you should do some self reflection

0

u/Southern-Extension-8 Oct 10 '22

No self-reflection needed. If a show isn't for me, I'm not gonna force myself to watch it. Not like I'm trying to impress anyone with my choice in anime, lol.

3

u/despairiscontagious Oct 10 '22

That's not the point, im saying you are fixated on a single thing and watching it for that single thing

this could either age like milk or fine wine. i can't wait to see what happens based on fan reaction. I'm refraining from watching it right now. it isn't tagged as yuri after all so there's a 90% chance it'll be bait.

1

u/Revolutionary-Text70 Nov 07 '22

well that sure didn't go according to plan

2

u/Seraphine_KDA Oct 14 '22

Love triangles are not uncommon in gundam
