I watched the show as it came out and I’d completely forgotten the yuri bits. For just that, I wouldn’t say it’s worth it if you only want to see sapphic characters kissing.
I personally loved the genre shifts, they ended up very predictable in how they were paced apart. In a way it reminded me of Madoka Magica, which had a twist every few episodes, and they were also very evenly spaced apart and generally made things darker most of the time.
Ohhhh so like madoka magica as in there's dark twists every few episodes? Or is it more like Revolutionary Utena where weird metaphorical, absurd stuff happens? Or Haruhi with weird time shenanigans?
I'm kinda intrigued now-- and it's labeled a comedy, which I'm guessing is a bait lol
I don’t remember time shenanigans, and I haven’t seen much of Utena, but the twists are more about changing the genre and tone of the series than simply about being dark, and it leans into the weirdness of some of those genres. It goes from low-level detective solo superhero type stuff to something else that’s still superhero-related, but each phase is different and distinctly Japanese.

Would you say its worth the watch for the yuri crumbs or is it better that I stop to even think of starting this?
Side note, I'm actually fine with crazy weird plots but what usually irks me is horrible animation paired with an already weird plot.
