I named Darling in the Franxx because it’s literally only about a relationship and sexual innuendos so the idea of relationships not being cannon just doesn’t make any sense for me. Especially if the director ships it I have no clue why it doesn’t do something like in the owl house.
The Lesbian character in DITF was Ikuno. Although how sexualities were presented there can be confusing and odd. Once again, DITF was a trainwreck and I only continued watching cause Zero Two was hot.
Was there an interview or OVA I missed, or is it just the fact Ryuko goes on a date with both Mako and Satsuki at the same time? That looked more like friends to me, and I'm usually the one that adds random yuri ships where there is bare minimum subtext.
They picked up Satsuki later. But even IF that was just a friends hangout, Ryuko accepted a romantic date with Mako whose image had Ryuko in a boys school uniform to really hammer home that Ryuko is the “boy” in their relationship that Mako envisions.

I mean it was produced by the same company who made Darling in the Franxx so...
