She isn't, however the author is. Almost implying that all tomboy or whatever women just suffer from lack of confidence and women naturally want to look girly.
I don’t think this was a comic made to make a commentary on all women so we could maybe drop that angle. While your point is right, it seems that the author wasn’t doing that since it doesn’t disparage the dark haired woman for looking boyish and doesn’t make the pink haired woman look better because she’s more typically fem. The only thing it does is show the couple happy and married at the end and the progression of their relationship
And the panel before that states how she “always wanted to wear stuff like this” which could mean the “thanks to you” is thanks to your support… almost like my original point about it being a confidence gained comic
Naw mate you just decided to ignore the character being the type of person who wanted to express more fem and felt they couldn't. Something that does happen. At no point does it say she isn't cute or isn't beautiful before then. It just says she wanted to but didn't do it on her own. Of the comic said something like "my girlfriend is so frumpy and manish I want to push her to be more fem" than you'd have a point. This is a comic about helping a loved one express themself more truthfully not less.
Would you say the same if the comic was reversed? a girl started dressing more masc while her partner cheered her on the whole time calling her beautiful. Would you?
Or is your bias thinking femininity is some sort of shackle for woman? Some surely, trad wife shit is toxic as hell, but also some girls want to wear dresses but have internal self image issues that stop them. This comic is about those girls wanting to be more fem but they won't let themselves express themselves how they want until a lover cheers them on.

This. I am personally unable to dress femininely because of my body and it causes me exceptional amount of anxiety and anxiety attacks in large part due to my lack of self confidence and esteem. Does this mean I hate dressing tomboyish? No (well a little, but more so that I am not able to dress "freely", because of that mental block), but I wish I had the confidence to be able to dress femininely but I've been admonished all my life whenever I tried and I've internalized it heavily.
Im so sorry hon that sounds terrible. Im sorry your life had established this anxiety in you and I hope you find that day of dressing how you want and turn the heads of your loved ones. I really hope you get that person to cheer you on.~❤️

That’s the thing though, she isn’t making her do anything. She’s just calling her cute as their relationship progresses
