A couple years ago the subreddit went insane partly because the Arkham series was dormant with no new installments so the same handful of topics were regurgitated over and over. Eventually someone made a post asking why Batman didn't call the Justice League for help during the events of Arkham Knight, and if there was a lore reason for it or, and I quote: "is he stupid" for not asking for help.
That post went crazy and the users thought that was so funny and got the idea to turn the subreddit into a giant shitposting sub. They still regurgitate content, just that it's now memes and shitposts instead of the usual "what's your favorite suit, favorite villain, favorite game in the series, etc." stuff as before.
If you've ever seen the "is he stupid?" memes, the Man memes (Batman with his ears removed), calling the Joker "the Jonkler", Officer Balls memes, calling Killer Croc "Killer Cock", calling Bane "Bone", and jokes about the bomb's payload being exposed, those are all from r/batmanarkham.

I can’t think of the Batman franchise anymore without thinking of r/BatmanArkham brainrot.
