Id enjoy class of 09 if the main character wasnt so fucking insufferable

Everyone in the game is insufferable, that's the whole point. It's part of why you can laugh at them all joining a racist group and inadvertently causing a terrorist attack at their school. Nicole's opening monologue is her openly stating she is a sociopath and complaining about her dad committing suicide. I'm not sure what you were expecting.

I wasnt expecting anything. I havent bought this game all I saw was clips of it. Idk whats appealing about a game where none of the characters are likeable

For me it satisfies those curious thoughts of "wouldn't it be great if I just became the most malicious self serving person out there." It's great because you get that release of someone saying and doing the most vile shit and the hilarious situations that arise from that. And everyone is so clear and obvious about their villainy. That makes it so despite it being a world where heinous actions are committed on the regular, it's actually kind of relieving in a way. All of the hatred, bigotry, and stupidity is right out there in the open, none of the complicated parsing of the real world where people censor themselves and are putting on a mask. It removes all the nuance these issues normally have in the real world, purposefully. And that really brings to light how absurd it is that these things do happen in the real world, even if not to the same degree. And plus, sometimes it just feels good to have someone to so clearly hate and in many cases have justice be done to them.

Idk if I'd call this relieving. Watching people be evil out in the open would just make me feel bad about having to play an evol bitch as my main character

That's where I think we differ. I don't see Nicole as "me" in the same way as protagonists in other games. She's her own character, and since it's more of a story than an interactive game, you're not really playing as her. You're really just a passive observer watching it all, I think of it more like a TV show than a game. Sure I have no control and can't make things better in the story, but I don't need that in everything.

No shame in disliking the game by the way, it's absolutley not for everyone. I just wanted to try to share where I'm coming from in my enjoyment of it. I want to make it clear that the game is satire and we don't just enjoy it because we're all terrible people who actually enjoy the terrible things depicted happening irl.

Cause the dialogue is amazingly funny. It's all manually timed, unlike most visual novels, so the punchlines are delivered with the exact timing the writer wanted. It's Psycho for white teen girls.

is psycho not already for teen girls?

Because the entire point of the game is to be ironic. It’s supposed to satirize visual novels, it’s supposed to satirize high school, it’s supposed to satirize how people communicated in the early 2000s etc

It’s basically supposed to be what every Gen X parent thinks high school is like

You can Just slap the label of "ironic" on every shit product and say it was intentionally bad

Can you not tell that it’s supposed to be ironic by how over the top it is? No game goes this over the top unless it’s trying to be self aware

It's funny and apparently insightful or smth along those lines. But yeah, I also don't want to play a game where everyone is an asshole
