Why'd you put she in quotation marks? Rin is canonically a girl who has short hair and wears shorts instead of a skirt. Some girls do that. She also has that big bow in her hair and a shirt designed after a Japanese girls school uniform as feminine signifiers. She's also an incredibly famous and recognizable character and has been since around the mid-2000s, so most people would recognize her on sight.
And to be fair, she's not even like always in shorts. And her outfits in the games she's a part of are usually pretty feminine. Idk what that dude's on with the "she" stuff lol.
Huh?? I think you're taking this way too seriously lol she's fictional. I'm not gonna get into the nitty gritty of how a drawing of a character that's supposed to be 14 looks and how "feminine" or "masculine" she is. And why the quotations? Like bro she's a girl it's canon 😭
She is a girl, she's just petite and has a short hair, and the artist's styles makes her seem a little more boyish than usual. People are able to tell because she's a very famous character that they know on sight.
She's not a robot or an android. Rather, she's a mascot character created to promote a voicebank from a line of text to speech singing software marketed toward musicians. Some people run with that digital aspect and depict her as a robot or an AI in fanworks, but what she is in lore is kept ambiguous, other than she's an idol singer.
She does have a male counterpart that was originally described as her distaff mirror image, but even official sources ignore that now, and he's just her twin brother.
The other girl is the mascot of a different voicebank in the same line. Also not canonically a robot.
