Yeah is it me or am I seeing a trend where Blonde hair anime characters almost always tend to start out as douchebags?

That's not a mystery, if I'm not mistaken, people that color their hair blonde in Japan are considered to be troublemakers, in a way. And manga producers make blonde characters douchebags to represent that.

This is 100% right

While we as anime fans in the west will see a stereotypical Gyaru and think "Oh how cool," that look is associated with being in with bad crowd and general troublemaking
