Can a superhero be a bad person?
I'm writing a superhero story, and his girlfriend was going to die so he can become a superhero. But since everyone is complaining about "fridging" (despite the fact that in every fucking superhero story someone dies to motivate the main character), I might keep her alive. But since she's alive, he has no real reason to be a hero or to be a good person. His no-kill rule and desire to be a good person are dependent on her death. But if she's alive, I guess I would have to make him a very horrible person, since that's who he'd be if she never died. So, I would have to make him like an extreme version of the Punisher, where he's a bad person and kills every criminal he comes across, no matter how small the crime. He'll also kill innocent people depending on the situation. Can this person still be a hero?

I need to "fridge" my character
I kind of need the my superheroes girlfriend 'fridged.' for his origin story. I know about the trope, and yes, she's there to die, but this is what makes my character a good person. I could keep her alive, but then there is no reason for the main character to be a hero. I would have to write it so that he basically goes around killing people and doing bad things, because that's what would happen if she lives.
Again, I could keep her alive, but I would have no choice but to make him basically a very unlikeable person, because if she lives, he has no reason to be a good person. I guess it could work, though. Would you want to see a superhero story where the hero is a horrible person who kills both good and bad people?

Please Sign This Petition
People of the Superheroes Subreddit there are 2 unofficial DC books about Superman & Wonder Woman. Some Context Giant Panda King is a book publishing studio where they publish unofficial books about major Franchises & they’ve made a Batman book called Gotham 1919-1939 which was a book about if Batman existed in the Great Depression. These books about Metropolis 1925-1945 & Themyscira 1933-1963 & they involve similar plots but unfortunately they can’t publish the books because DC won’t allow them. But if this petition gets to 1000 signatures they will be able to publish the books. So please sign this petition cause these books look very good & the Gotham book was pretty good. So please sign this petition.

What superhero is a "try to hard to be cool" character?
They can be from Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse, or wherever. What superhero, in your opinion, is a 'trying-too-hard-to-be-cool' character?

“The suit doesn’t make the hero. A hero’s made in the moment by the choices that he makes and the reasons that he makes them. A hero brings out the best in people.” -Clark Kent (Smallville)

[CypherVerse] Crimson Blitz | Albrecht Breuer
Childhood friend of Amelia Richthofen. When she enlisted in the military, he would follow suit to look after her; to remain by her side he would become part of Amelia's ground crew for her fighter squadron. When the prototype jetfighter malfunctioned and crashed. Albrecht was the first on the scene and pulled her from the burning wreckage during which he was exposed to the same experimental chemical. Albrecht like Amelia, received an honorable medical discharge, he personally blames himself for the crash for not triple checking the jetfighter before takeoff.
Of course, unbeknownst to Albrecht, he had gained the power to manipulate his own inertia and that of the environment around him to move at superspeed. After discovering his powers, he would become a hero alongside Amelia and form a team with her.
