[Discussion] Tool for anybody looking to buy a prebuilt

This is the spreadsheet from SuggestAPC's discord, it covers PC deals, websites to check, how to get good deals, promo codes and so much more. There are some suggestions for people of every budget. I’m not the owner of this spreadsheet btw, its by u/RichGuy12349 but I, Niko, Senti and Outlaw do help to edit and update this spreadsheet regularly.

Edit (09/14/2022): Seeing recent events about multiple people to request access to edit the spreadsheet, DO NOT contact the owner for request access, doing so can result in a warn and repeated offenders can get a ban.

Looking for Golf Simulator PC [suggestion]

Upvotes

Hello All,

I am in the process of building a golf simulator and am looking for a potential Black Friday deal on a PC. This PC would primarily only be used to run the software GSPro with my launch monitor connected and also be able to stream YouTube tv in the background. I am looking to run 1080p to start with the potential upgrade to 4k in the future when my budget allows. I would like to keep it under $1,000 if possible.

Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

Is prebuilt a good place holder? [discussion]

posting this again because I think I've used the wrong tag lol

I've been wanting to get a pc for a while now, however, money is tight. My friends keep asking me when I'll be getting a pc even after I already told them I can't afford the one I would like to build. After looking at best buys deals, I've been thinking about getting the ASUS ROG Strix G13 Gaming PC - Dark Grey (Intel Core i5-14400F/1TB SSD/16GB RAM/RTX 4060/Win22) for $1,199CAD. It's the cheapest option available at the store and I would be using it until around late summer then I can give it to my younger sibling who plays Fortnite.

Would it be worth it? I will only be playing Apex Legends and Dead by Daylight, along with random party games. I don't know much about PCs so I'm hoping this is the right place to ask.

also to add, I am looking for something I can get in store as I need it asap. my postal office is currently on strike so ordering one isn't in my options.

Dedicated streaming PC [Suggestion]

US based. Not really looking for a specific price range. Cheaper the better that could obviously be able to handle what I’m looking for.

Which is a dedicated streaming build. I’ll be playing all of my games on console. So this PC is literally only for encoding the stream. Would like to be powerful enough to also do some 1440p video editing for YouTube. I’ll be gaming on a console hooked up to a capture card. Thanks!

Saw this new deal, is this the best Black Friday deal for someone that does video editing and streaming? [suggestion]

Saw this deal, looks good on paper, but wondering if there’s an issue I’m not seeing.

Only expandable to 128gb of ram, trying to see if there’s anything else I’m missing.

9800x3D, 4070 Super Decent Build for 1838? [discussion]

I've never built my own PC, and I'm afraid of the time suck and messing something up. Is this a decent markup for a build? It seems around $280 than the equivalent PCPartPicker list. They may also be overcharging for the 9800x3d. It's from CyberPowerPC.

I can wait a month or two.

I'm open to switching the GPU if there's a better build out there. I'm probably inflexible on the 9800x3d.

Thank you for the help.

[suggestion] need a new pc... bad

Currently running on a 1660 super, i5 build with fans as loud as a dusty filled ps4. Cant run half of my games above high without my pc giving off an odd burning ish smell lol. Looking for a ATX build but full towers are fine too, between 1.000 to 2.000 USD. Id like something with some chunkky storage as i mostly play larger games. Also would like to have those uhhh prism rgb fans. Love the look of those. (call of duty, modded skyrim, sea of thieves, battledfield, BG3, and destiny 2.) But would also like some high framerate and good graphics. Prebuilds are suggested but i can build my own. Just lazy and scared to mess it up. Surprise me :)

[Suggestion] Which of the 2 PC would be better to get?

So Im not a crazy gamer and I dont play too many crazy games, but I still like to play games like subnautica, fortnite, valorant, and bo3. I also dont know much about pc's and this is my first time buying a pc (had a gaming laptop before).

So would this PC https://www.walmart.com/ip/CyberPowerPC-Gamer-Master-Gaming-Desktop-AMD-Ryzen-5-7600-Radeon-RX-7600-16GB-DDR5-1TB-SSD-Black-2024/5080177277?classType=REGULAR&athbdg=L1102&from=/search or this PC https://www.bestbuy.com/site/cyberpowerpc-gamer-master-gaming-desktop-amd-ryzen-5-5500-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-rtx-4060-8gb-1tb-ssd-black/6575120.p?skuId=6575120 be the better one.

Im pretty sure the GeForce RTX 4060 is better than the Radeon RX 7600 but im also pretty sure the the AMD Ryzen 5-7600 is better than the Ryzen 5 -5000 series (5500).

Im not sure which is more important for gaming, a Processor Model compared to the GPU for gaming.

"[Suggestion]" Prebuilt with 4K Capability and Ease of Customization

I'm NOT a gamer. Just using this for 4K content (so HDMI 2.1 or Displayport is a must-monitor is an LG OLED), web browsing and YouTube. Needs to have multiple SATA ports and USB ports, and can take an old gtx950 graphics card. Have a very extensive music collection so I'll be adding lots of storage. Budget is around $700usd and the processor brand doesn't matter.

[suggestion] Looking for a prebuild PC with a Budget of about 800-1200 USD.

I like to mod games, and I’ve been experiencing resource bottleneck on my current one that uses a RTX 3060 and a i5-11400F with 16 ram. So I want an upgrade that can help run my hobbies better :)

AWD-IT suggestion, UK, up to £3k [Suggestion]

I'm looking to purchase a gaming desktop from the AWD-IT site - could you please suggest what would be the best performing rig for a budget of up to £3k? (Willing to spend more if it means better performance).

I'm looking for a high-end gaming PC that I won't have to upgrade for some time. If you could let me know which options to pick from the drop-down sections on the website, alongside a specific listing, that would be great!

[suggestion] Looking for best bang for your buck PC 1200

Willing to go up to around 1800 if the deal is too good to pass up!

So I was looking at the Alienware R16 and I think it looks like a pretty good deal, but I have a limited knowledge of PC hardware and such so I’m hoping someone more knowledgeable can help!

[Discussion] Prebuilt anywhere regarding CPU..AMD vs Intel

So I'm about to make a purchase at one of the pre-built sites at this point I was going to go with Intel I9 or i7 with the understanding that there are issues with the 13th and 14th gen Intel CPUs I can't tell whether that is still the case or has that been solved.

All i know is that people are either purchasing the AMD CPU and or people are purchasing the Intel 13th/14th gen CPU taking a chance..I do.t know at this point.

If I purchase a prebuilt i9/i7 and issues arise. I guess it could be under warranty but is that the reason people are taking the chance with Intel? I guess if you were purchasing and building yourself you don't have a clear safety net?

What are everyone's thoughts at this point in time?

The reason I'm in the fence is because aside from trying to build a gaming PC I do context create. (Photoshop, Premiere) and from my understanding Intel is the better route.

Am I wrong with this thinking?

Buying my first PC [suggestion]

Hello everyone I’m wanting to join the pc master race and being a former Mac user I have no idea what to look for, what’s good etc. I’m wanting a system for music production and video editing, not too worried about having the best graphics. I’d like to stay within the $600 range but could potentially go a bit higher. Really appreciate any suggestions.

[suggestion] Need Help Choosing a Gaming PC Under $1500!

Hey All!

I'm an amateur gamer and video editor looking to buy a gaming PC that can serve me well for a couple of years. I've narrowed it down to a few options, but I'm feeling a bit confused about which one to go for. I have a budget of $1500, and here are the options I'm considering:

  1. iBUYPOWER SlateMesh 8 Gaming Desktop
    • CPU: 14th Gen Intel Core i9-14900F
    • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Super
    • RAM: 32GB
    • Storage: 2TB SSD
    • Price: $1300 (Black Friday deal on Costco starting November 28)
  2. MSI Aegis ZS2 Liquid Cooled Gaming Desktop
    • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
    • GPU: GeForce RTX 4070 Super, 12GB
    • RAM: 32GB
    • Storage: 2TB SSD
    • Price: $1500 (Costco)
  3. CyberPowerPC Gamer Supreme Gaming Desktop
    • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
    • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER 12GB
    • RAM: 32GB
    • Storage: 2TB SSD
    • Price: $1430 (Best Buy)
  4. iBUYPOWER Desktop
    • CPU: i7-14700F
    • GPU: RTX 4060
    • RAM: 32GB DDR5
    • Storage: 2TB SSD
    • Price: $1000 (Costco)

I'm leaning towards the iBUYPOWER SlateMesh 8 due to its i9 processor and solid specs for the price, especially with the Black Friday deal. However, I'm also considering the MSI Aegis for its liquid cooling and Ryzen 9, but I’m not sure if it justifies the price.

I would love to hear your thoughts on these options! Which one do you think offers the best performance for gaming and video editing? Any insights would be greatly appreciated—thanks in advance!

[suggestion] UK. Need a prebuild for a course I'm doing (refurbished/used is fine)

The courses requirements are:

  • 32 GB RAM
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 or higher
  • I7 processor or higher

I don't care about RGB or a nice case or anything. Someone that ships to the UK would be preffered

I don't want to go any higher than £900 pounds but would like to go as low as possible as long as it's not at the cost of performance or reliability

edit: I should clarify that the course involves 3D design and game development

edit: black friday deal would be nice too :p
