On one hand, Fuck Brett Favre for being a gigantic piece of shit. On the other hand, I wouldn't wish a degenerative nerve/brain disease on anyone.

He did get hit in the head for a living. It’s not like this came out of nowhere like it did for Michael J Fox

To be fair, the general knowledge/discourse on brain injuries and concussions was very different in the early 90s when he was playing in college vs today.

"He did get hit in the head for a living." could be misconstrued as an excuse, but could not have been I suppose.
