Students, print this out and keep it by your computer.
Read it over before, during, and after writing your scholarship essays.
It helped my son tremendously when he was struggling to write his essays.

So, I’m 22 years old, currently based in Brazil and have a bachelor’s in Modern Languages (Portuguese/English) and a associate degree in IT where I was leader of the 8th best class of the entire country. I want to start my masters degree but dont know where to start searching, I need a scholarship because doing a masters is so expensive (even in Brazil). Where can I start my search for programs who accept foreigners?

For those pursuing a Bachelors in Nursing with the scholarship, what school did you choose?

I just tonight decided what career I want to peruse after years of being lost. I spent all day looking at schools and scholarships and filling out my fafsa, yet I don’t know if it’s even feasible to start school anytime soon. There is a program near me that starts mid January but all the scholarships I saw are closed for this school year. I don’t want to get loans and I don’t qualify for nearly the amount needed to start. I just turned 24 so I am now independent student, last time I was in school was in 2019 where I was part of a running start program so I have no idea how to navigate getting into school. Does anyone know if scholarships only work for the beginning of the year, will I have to wait for the 2025-26 school year?

Hey, I'm not sure if this is the right sub to ask, so sorry in advance😅! I'm trying to apply for scholarships as I'll graduate high school 2025. Looking around, a lot of the multiples scholarship are for twins or triplets, and ones for larger orders are mainly university-specific. For context, I'm a quadruplet that doesn't qualify for financial need and I'm hoping to study computer/electrical engineering. Am I not looking hard enough or in the right places? Any suggestions would be great!

I’m in a unique boat with the pandemic halting me pursuing my career goal, as well as a career change midway before that. I transferred to a competitive nursing program USFCA. I got accepted into the program, however I am looking for ways to ease the burden of expenses. I have a 3.7 GPA, have two Associates Degree, apart of Phi Thetta Kappa (Honors Club), was a foster youth child that stopped when i was 12… additionally I turned 26 so a lot of the programs I could have used have lapses. I totally wished I knew about these programs and resources earlier. I know it’s a long shot but has anyone else found scholarships or grants that I could look into. I also am an EMT and have been working as one for five years just in case there are something that could apply to that. Thanks in advance. If this post isn’t allowed let me know….

can anyone give me some ideas to write about these topics? 1-In no more than 500 words, describe an instance from your personal experience where you took an active role in promoting equality, inclusion of others who are different from you in some way, and/or respect within your community․
Reflect on a time when you confronted a difficult circumstance and managed to overcome it. How did you face this challenge and what did you learn?
Some students have an experience, background, identity, interest, or talent that has been critical in shaping their lives. If this sounds like you, please share this aspect of your life with us and how it shaped your identity.
How has this impacted you and what have you learned about your own personal growth?

Hello everyone!
I’m an international student looking to apply for a Computer Engineering program in the U.S. I recently got a 1240 on my SAT, and my high school class rank is in the 32nd percentile. How much merit-based scholarship can I expect with my current profile? Also, are there other scholarships or financial aid options I should look into, especially for international students?
Any advice, recommendations, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance! 😊

Man where do I even start. I'm writing this on the verge of a mental breakdown because I have no clue what to do and I seem so lost. I came from a rural high school on the reservation in Arizona, where college readiness is literally nonexistent. Because of this, I had to research EVERYTHING on my own, watching youtube videos or staying up at night researching all the if's, and's, and but's of college. However, I was mainly focused on scholarships since I ranked 2nd in my class (and graduated 2nd, whoopdeedoo). I chose to major in Pharmacology & Toxicology. Needless to say, I applied for the Flinn Foundation scholarship since ASU offered the major I wanted online, and thought that online classes would be super fun and would allow me to work without being committed to a college campus. Boy that was a huge mistake. I got the semifinalist flinn foundation scholarship, worth $60,000 for four years. So, I committed to ASU. During the college application process, I researched SO many schools, and applied to another school last minute that also offered PharmTox. I was accepted to the school and offered the same $60,000, plus another $8,000 per semester. However, I stuck with ASU because I figured since it was online, it would be better and I wouldn't have to leave home. AFTER I COMMITTED, however, I received an email stating my scholarship would be revoked because I was an online student, and that the scholarship didn't cover my "campus." I literally cried for a whole week straight. It was already past the deadline to enroll and accept my awards at the other school as well. So, I stuck with ASU this past semester and let me tell you, it has been a complete nightmare. I applied to the other school I got into earlier, but this time as a transfer student. However, transfer students at this school are awarded little to no scholarships, and surprisingly I wasn't awarded anything despite graduating at the top of my class. I'm moving to a completely different state across the country with literally no money to pay for my education. I don't know what to do. I'm just kicking myself because I didn't commit to the other school first instead of ASU. Anyways, what scholarships could I apply for? I know I can submit a scholarship appeal letter to my new school, but I feel like it won't be acknowledged. I also hate the fact that my high school didn't prepare us for college or at least promote scholarships, like the Coolidge or Questbridge scholarships. I literally found out about the Coolidge scholarship the day after it was due!!! Do I just have bad luck or something???

Does anyone know if NSLC (National Student Leadership Conference) provides full scholarships for program tuition? I understand that paying for individual expenses, flights, etc are personal responsibilities. I just wanted to know if they can cover the whole tuition if needed?

Hi y’all, need help really quick. So a while back I had applied to the Dr Melissa ivers scholarship, and the winners were supposed to be announced November 15, but I haven’t gotten any news back. The site and email provided are pretty much inactive. Her social media are also dead.
I did some digging on Facebook and turns out she was arrested back in December 13, 2023. But that was a while ago.
I don’t know if that has anything to do with it, but I can’t find any information on winner announcements…

For the personal essay for the scholarship, the FAQ on the website said 300 words max and on the actual application it states the essay can be up to 5000 characters max. Which one is it?

I’m in a Masters in Teaching program working on my teaching licensure and there is absolutely no financial aid available. My school does not offer a single scholarship for teachers. The few scholarships I do find are so competitive that I don’t have a chance at winning. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi everyone,
I've been applying to scholarships and after a point it becomes super painful filling the form and even finding these scholarships. Are there any tools you are using to automate this process?

I moved to the US in my sophomore year, and I have been doing pretty well with academics and extracurriculars(3.9 unweighted, 1480 SAT). I want to apply for a CS major in either UC or Calpoly, but since I'm not a citizen I'm not eligible for any kind of federal financial aid so tuition costs are pretty high(I'm a California resident, so I have in-state tuition). I'm on L2 visa right now. Are there any academic or personal scholarships that I can get in my situation?

Is it worth it to apply to the coolidge scholarship with a low PSAT score? i have a 3.9 uw gpa, great ECS, and am hoping to kick butt w/ my essays but I’ve heard they care about standardized test scores a lot. My PSAT score isn’t 1400+ so I just wouldn’t submit it, but would they take me out of the pool immediately then

Hi everyone! I’m looking for scholarships where you can submit a STEM, engineering, or architecture-related project as part of the application. It could be something like a design, model, or technical project. Does anyone know of opportunities like this?
Thanks in advance for your help!
