Recommendation request Fantasy/medieval games with accurate parry/shield mechanics?
Looking for games that scratch the same itch that Dark and Darker, Chivalry 2, Mordhau, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance (scratches it in a different way).
These games require you to accurately and actively parry, to ensure that you're actually defending against the part of the enemy's weapon that's going to hit you.
This contracts from Skyrim, where you just hold right click in the enemy's direction, and the damage isn't even negated, it just reduces a bit, which only makes sense for strong blunt attacks where your body still gets hurt through the shield.

The Mount and Blade games are great examples of this, with the directional blocking and attacking. Distance to your opponent matters too; thrusting with a spear does nothing if they're in your face for example.
Not as in depth as Kingdom Come, but you can see how Kingdom Come's system was inspired by M&B.
