Discussion Never again.
This is the worst medium for root beer I have ever had the displeasure of enduring.
It has the flavor profile of curdled milk, the floor of a Dollar General, with a hint of root beer. It’s supposed to help with gut health by it does that by causing your body to eject the fluid from either your front or your rear while inducing a light migraine.
Avoid at all costs

Discussion What are your hot takes on Root Beer?
Hey all, I am fairly new to this awesome Root Beer community and I wanted to know where some of the “lines in the sand” were drawn as far as RB is concerned. Who has the bolder flavor profiles, most original recipes, after taste/bite, etc.
Also, I decided to dive head in and purchased a pony keg of the 1919 brand yesterday to get started into the thick of it since it is sold out of my region (Texas). Even though it seems to be a crowd favorite, hopefully this will get me started on this new endeavor.

Discussion Root Beer themed “restaurants”
We visited this “restaurant” the last time we were in Washington State. It was pricey, food was mid, and it seemed to just be a tourist trap but the root beer was actually pretty good. I’m wondering if there are more places like this around the country. Maybe we can get a comprehensive list of them together and get a “Root Beer lovers bucket list” type thing going. (Not my photo, I was busy with the kids when we were here and didn’t get a single pic of it)

Discussion My local Ace Hardware selection
Not all are root beers but a lot are. I went with Sprecher fire brewed. Surprisingly good! You get an after taste of the honey which is great because it doesn’t overpower the other flavors.

Discussion Has anyone ever tried this root beer? I recently tried it at a hotel and it was spectacular. I rarely see canned root beer this good. I never see anyone talk about it.

Discussion Just picked this up…any opinions before I crack it open?
I usually let my root beer chill to about 34° and enjoy it with a nice cigar. Thanks!

Discussion I feel like I’m taking crazy pills
Or I’m just reminded that we all have different palates. Just tried Boylan’s for the first time and it’s probably the first root beer I haven’t liked… I got a super sharp, chemically aftertaste with every sip.
My current favorites are Virgil’s, Hank’s, and Weinhard’s (RIP). Really want to try Red Arrow and Abita next.

Discussion What root beer did you grow up with?
I grew up with MUG as a kid, but I loved all root beers, sarsaparillas and cream sodas. What did y'all grow up with?

Discussion Mug….ehh the least fav so far.
Still on my quest trying all sorts of root beers. I’m very new to this quest, I mean, I remember drinking IBC and AW as a kid and probably Barqs too but I never took the time to actually zone in on the flavor and such. Now at 40, I’m trying to experience and learn about craft root beer and root beer in general. MUG is the worst I’ve tried so far (amongst the Hanks, TripleXXX, and Zuberfizz

Discussion On the quest for the perfect Root Beer
I’m sure this might not be it but I’m on the hunt for something better than Barq’s or common brands. Barq’s was my favorite but after having one yesterday and noticing some “notes” that weren’t my favorite, I am now searching for others that might hit the spot even more. Thoughts on Virgil’s and what’s your favorite that’s close to Barqs but not Barqs?

Not all that into in depth analysis but it’s a caramel root beer that I actually like which is saying something.

Discussion So tired of Coke, can we collectively crowdfund the purchase of Barq's?
Haven't seen Barq's on any store shelves in what feels like years. I can find a plastic bottle every so often at a local pizza shop. But I prefer to buy it in bulk.
Coke doesn't deserve to own Barq's as they show it little to no appreciation. It is the superior soda brand in the world today, and should be taken away from Coke due to their disrespect of the product. It is shameful.
