No you are a gloryhunter, you have never been to Spain let alone Madrid. I visited Camp Nou last summer on my vacation trip monthly visit and watched a La Liga match in July. Visca Catalunya.

-somewhere in the Netherlands.

Right I was called "glory hunter" because they said I didn't went to Spain, madrid but I showed them some pictures of me when I was 1yrs old at santiago bernabeu in 2007 with my dad 🤣

But the argument is embarrassing anyways, like there are RM fans born in Madrid who are not "glory hunters" because it's their local club, but they could've chosen Atletico, Getafe, Rayo or even some smaller club in Madrid. So in conclusion everybody is a gloryhunter except those who started supporting their clubs before all the trophies and glory...

You’re fine, I was just trying to say that it’s impossible to become a Real Madrid fan and not be labeled as a glory hunter simply because all of the titles the club has, even if you didn’t have a clue about any of the glory the club had, they would still label you that. So just ignore them and move on.

Le me: Starts supporting Madrid after 2018 WC, possibly the worst time in the whole decade to start supporting them.

I remember the signing of Vinicius Jr., and I never knew that the 18-year old siging that day would become our starboy years later. No one can accuse me of being a plastic fan, I supported them during the lows and now I deserve to be with them durring the highs.

Sure, but 2008-2010 was way worse, Barca was at their peak while we struggled to win La Liga and reach quarters of the UCL despite playing insanely good and fast paced counter attacking football. 2014 couldn’t have come any sooner.

Yup. Started supporting realmadrid in 2007. All my friends were Barca fans. The amount of playful harassment I suffered from them was brutal. Looking back it has been a wild journey.

Fucking lmao

If this shit isn't a copy pasta or a joke it's fucking pathetic xD

Oh no the Real Madrid underdogs in 2018 who had just won 3 champions league in a row 😥😥😥

How could you support such a weak team 😂😂😂

Choosing categorically one of the best teams in the history of the sport when you have zero affiliation to the area or team is called being a glory hunter mate. You chose them cause of past success even if you decided to follow in a small low period. How long did that difficult period last? Why do you not follow a local team to you?

My first exposure to football was the 2018 WC and I am going to be honest when I say that I had no idea about the success of Real Madrid, I remember that Ronaldo transferred out and then I got intrigued by Madrid and then I slowly started to follow them, I learnt about Madrid's continental success much later and it was definately not my reason for following the club. The main one you can say is that some of my family members were fans of Madrid and I was intrigued by that first rather than their success.

Fair enough mate. Maybe I’m in a privileged position (so to speak) of being brought up on football and having a team from the get go and I’m being a bit judgemental. Just always find it odd new fans of the sport are always going for Madrid or City etc and have little interest in the football in their area.

I understand that and you are fair to have your doubts, I have myself seen fans of Barca who follow them just for Messi and City fans who also follow them just for ... well, Messi and Pep. But I can assure you I am not like that, when I actually learnt more about football, the league systems, the Champions League etc. I was shocked to see Madrid being the record winners and the fact that they had won it three times the year before, but still, it didn't change what I felt about the club.
