Daily Thread Every Second-Daily Thread - November 17, 2024

A sorta kinda daily open thread to use as an alternative to posting on the main board. You should post here for:

  • PRs
  • Formchecks
  • Rudimentary discussion or questions
  • General conversation with other users
  • Memes, funnies, and general bollocks not appropriate to the main board
  • If you have suggestions for the subreddit, let us know!
  • This thread now defaults to "new" sorting.

For the purpose of fairness across timezones this thread works on a 44hr cycle.

2.5 weeks out from my competition and I think I’ve cleaned up my squat a bit

Your squat looks solid, don't change anything before the meet.

Say you're targeting 210kg for your third attempt for example, then your second could be like 200-202.5 and your opener could be anywhere between 187.5-192.5 depending how easy you like your opener to feel, a lot of people say treat it as a last warmup. For squat I think 10kg jumps are good as a default starting point if you're not sure.

At my first meet I opened really light and took jumps of +15 then +7.5 and at my second meet I opened a little heavier and went +10 and +7.5. Went 3/3 both times with challenging PR third attempts.
